I doubt that more of one or two people on this forum own a licence of these software !

There is no problem including paid software in this thread.
Any software which still works on Windows XP now is worth mentioning.
I would ask though that if software is not freeware that it should be mentioned in the relevant post.

My criticism wasn't about the presence of shareware or not.

It was about the backporting to XP of only paid software.

It's frustating !

I tried the none-SSE2 release today, works perfectly !

Tunnel established between a very old computer (CPU not supporting SSE2) acting as a client and a laptop acting as a file sharing server.

@genieautravail, thanks for testing and confirming that the build actually work as intended; that is an stunnel version for 32 bit computers not supporting SSE2 instructions and running windows XP/Windows Server 2003 or later. I was looking for QT5 dll files to maybe make some software XP compatible.

In several places it is told that QT5 v5.6.3 is the last properly XP compatible version, but only if it is build in a specific way with MSVC 2013.

Some mention that QT5 v5.7.0 and v5.7.1.may also work like that.

Anyways, with some searching I found pre-build QT5 v5.7.0 dll files, working fine on XP. It is part of SQLiteStudio v3.1.1. Here:

Hi, just to report that the LAST version of ghostscrip in XP is 9.54 (only after applying the two exes and dll xompie treatment- maybe PAE is enough, I didn't check). I haven't tested it thoroughly, but enough to see that it woks far better than the previous GS version I had (9.16) loading content within irfaview. . Cheers!

Im setting up XP64 and I needed a package of certificates to allow programs to run.

 

For example... the classic potplayer videoplayer gives an error "potplayer.dll is modified or hacked" if the "VeriSign Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority - G5" certificate is not installed in your OS.

 

Currently Im using these certificates to run potplayer without problems

but I wonder what other certificates I should install to be sure that programs that rely on certain certificates works. Probably they not always give a warning at startup.

I am updating the root certificates using a utility Cert_Updater_v1.6:

Once started, it automatically downloads the current version of all root certificates and then installs them. After that it shows the date of each of them. Just run it every 3-6 months and all system certificates will be up to date.

Has anyone managed to install Office 2013/2016 on Windows XP with the latest One Core API (v4.0)? The developer claimed that this release is the biggest yet in terms if software compatibility, so I tried it out but the 2013 installer crashes while installing.

However, the latest Firefox (v133), which even doesn‘t run on Vista, 7 and 8.1 works on XP! 
 

I‘m asking as I have an old netbook with a N455, which either runs XP or 7 Starter and I‘d like to stay on XP with it, as it runs very smoothly. All I need is a newer Office suite, up-to date browser and an Antivirus program (otherwise I‘ll directly go with 7 Home)

samuel has done a well job with his one core api
even unlike me hes a very active guy, he really works on stuff
sometimes he wants a bit much, but as everybody can see chrome gone way up

i remember the old discussion about the skia engine and why it broke it up, that was for chrome v54
now we have 133 - thats way of a gap

I personally enjoy using OnlyOffice for Windows XP. It's pretty good.

That's the reason why you can't run MS Office 2013 (you can try running portable versions, but I don't think they exist)
