  1. I have chosen to remain neutral in this MSFN (Windows Vista) Civil War. As i see it not being productive or is it in the best intrest in the operations of this forum group. So i have edited my post. As some of you might assume that i removed it in some form of defeat. View it as you wish, but i know that this heated debate is not helping anyone. 3. I have searched intel's site, only reference to 845GL is the Chipset for the board, i have found 845G graphics controller drivers.
  4. I have researched this board, their seems to be alot of memory incompatablies which causes alot of freezes or random reboots. However their is new BIOS revisons that suppose to help reduce these events. ASUS own page regarding suppose memory compatabities is not even working. I have narrowed down the causes of these freezes/reboots to incompatble memory, the chipset itself or AMD's own processors which from what i have gather is partly the cause. Their is however two different sets of BIOS revisions, one for 2.0 boards only and the others listed on their site.

  12. You may want to check the BIOS > Advance Settings > GAME PORT. Then Disable it in Windows > Device Manager. My sister has a A7N8X Deluxe board. Found that to be the culpuit. As far the SoundBlaster Live, check the pins, and check to ensure that the on-board Sound is disabled.

  19. Modern dial-up modems typically have a maximum theoretical speed of 56 kbit/s, using V.92 protocoand in most cases only up to 53 kbit/s is possible due to overhead and FCC regulation. Factors such as phone line noise and conditions, as well as the quality of the modem itself, if the modem is external or internal, all play a large part in determining connection speeds.
