Speaking of 65nm process, AMD is not expectedd make the move anytime soon, and when they do, Intel will already have researched into faster, effiencet and smaller process. I did not say merge but an alliance. Much like how Intel and ATI is now. Not to mention that many things could go wrong, remember that the FTC has to look over this deal and can make the decision that it is not in the best intrest of the US ecomony.

Well, ATI has not been able to make a dent in Nvida's market, and with this pending aquistion, Nvidia will become the sole independent provider of Video Chips. Intel is quite able to do this but in a great quality as Nvida. Neither one needs to do a alliance, but if it does happen, you could see hugh problem for AMD/ATI. The only real thing can make ATI advance is the smaller process use. But again AMD does not have the large amounts of fabs as Intel.

Everytime you add or remove a application it changes the registry, and registry links to DLL's, files, applications, etc. Other then doing a Registery cleanrer, especially if you are using WinME, i would just reinstall the entire operating system, then things such hardware drivers (software that comes with it) then Browsers, plug-ins, media codecs, players then the rest of the software.

Who know, Nvidia and Intel Alliance may happen as well.

Weel, before they we have concerts on them, Movies come first. Industry only changes when others push it. We do not count unfortnatly. The chance of we as a group try to change the industry is about the same as we trying to as Microsoft to make a better OS.

Who knows, lets wait and see if and when the AMD/ATI deals becomes offical

Blue-Ray and HD-DVD are somewhat merging int he tech world, i am not going to invest in any new players yet. Like the CD/DVD drive in the XBOX, i am sure the flop in PS3 , XBOX and Wii will be present, so until it is flop free, and by that time the price will drop.
