  1. What is the exact System Specs? Where did you aquire the drivers.
  2. Yes all of the above is true, but maintaining a sechdule to your usage is recommended. In my post, it does nto mention which file system is needing more defragmenting, it is generalized for the purpose of expaining the benifits of defragmenting. So no fixing is needed.
  3. Uninstall your Video Driver from Hardware Manager. Let windows attemp to detect the driver automatic, if it detect is then leave it as is, if it does not and it loads a genric driver, find what your video chip set is or motherboard model. Then download the correect driver. A program like PC wizard, or sandra will get you video card info.

  5. Turn on your PC with montor on, do you hear any POST errors, beeping sounds, what is the monitors activity, solid orange, blinking orange, etc.
  6. Yes their come wear and tear on your Drives by do so, but this offers a glimps on preventive maintance, it does not mean for the user to do it everyday but to bring light on the subject, that drives should be defragmented.

  8. ATX12V is an addition 12V connector that supplies power for Intel CPU's, and their are 24 pin and 20 pin connectors that is for Mobo, a 24 pin can be used in older 20 pin. SLI is short for Scalable Link Interface. SLI is proprietary to Nvidia graphics cards and is a method of allowing two graphics cards of the same model to be linked and share the load of rendering the graphics on screen. Using two graphics cards linked via SLI greatly improves the performance of the system by rendering the graphics faster. Often up to a 2 times improvement is seen. Crossfire A technology from ATI graphics, allowing 2 PCIE graphics cards in the same computer system to be linked. The 2 cards are linked externaly by a DVI like connector. The cards then work together to render the image. Both technologies do the same thing in different ways to make your gaming or movie experience better.

  10. Yes, 5200 can be coled passive with a highend heaksink. I would like to show you my 4200 but i do not have a cam. I found the heatsink and fan for my card on ebay
  11. Intergrated Video on a motherboad has seprate video chips. If your Video card (chip set) has died, then replace it with a new PCI/AGP board. However you would need to disable it in bios as well. Their also the fact that the monitor has it's own Energy Star Compliant deal which you would need to reset your monitor, i have experienced this before.
  12. With OEM licenses of Windows XP (when Windows is preinstalled on a system you purchase or purchase an OEM) the license stays with the computer and you may not recieve Tech support. If you get rid of the computer, you lose the Win XP License. However, with the Retail version of the license, it can be transferred to another computer AFTER it is fully uninstalled from the original computer. Retail version also gets you 3 free Tech Support calls. Any hangup with activation or registration only takes a phone call to Microsoft to explain what you are doing with your retail copy of the software. How can you tell the difference? OEM product keys have OEM in the key number. Volume Licenses are 1 license per machine, if a license (software) is FULLY removed from one machine, it may be installed on another. Microsoft licensing information can be found at microsoft.com/licensing.
  13. Let's compare defragmenting your hard drive to washing the dishes. The easiest way to clean your dishes is to do them right after you eat. Cleanup is fast: Rinse them off, maybe give them a quick swipe with the sponge, and voila! They're clean. Now let's say you wait a few days to clean your dishes. Now you've got a larger pile of dishes to do. The most recent ones will still clean up pretty easily, but the ones that have been sitting the longest will require a bit more elbow grease. What if you didn't do your dishes for a several weeks? Now you've got your work cut out for you. By this time you'd have dishes piled all over the kitchen. And the quantity isn't the only problem: Most of those dishes will need some serious scrubbing. (Got a chisel?) The job is so daunting that it might be tempting to simply throw out the whole lot and buy a new set of dishes. Disk fragmentation works the same way. By defragmenting daily, you quickly and easily eliminate fragmentation before it can cause a problem. Nice and simple. Wait a couple of days, and fragmentation starts to build up exponentially. Yes, you can restore your computer's performance by defragmenting, but chances are it's going to take a while. As the number of file frgments increases, performance and reliability take a nose-dive. If you don't defragment at all, things get really messy. Your computer slows to a crawl, has trouble running multiple applications, and it may suffer excruciatingly long boot times. After a while, it may not even boot at all. Many people who aren't aware of the problems that fragmentation causes will simply get rid of the computer because it's "old and slow", and replace it with a new one-just like buying a new set of dishes, when simply cleaning the old ones would solve the problem. Daily defragmentation is simpler than doing the dishes. Just install an automatic defragmenter, and it takes care of the problem for you. And because it's handled promptly, defragmentation is so quick and easy that it can be done in the background so you can use your computer while it's defragmenting. Don't let those dishes pile up!

  22. a 5200 Nvidia pretty standard, quite simular to the 4200, only diference is my 4200 is actually faster then 5000 series nvidia's. You might find that heatsink and fan on ebay.
  23. These are my three.
  24. If you have not previously set preferences or attempted to play media from within the browser window, the Media Bar Settings dialog box appears when the user first clicks a link to a media file. You then can then opt to play media files in Internet Explorer, If you already specified preferences or opened the Windows Media Player might need to reset their media preferences. To do so, they can first open the Media Bar by clicking the Media icon on the toolbar, or by choosing Explorer Bar from the View menu and selecting Media. When the Media Bar is visible, users can choose Settings from the Media Options menu on the Media Bar player control, and then select Reset preferred types.
  25. All the above is correct. Much like trying to write to a CD/DVD recordable, the transferspeeds is regulated by the speed of the Hard Drive. Also let not forget that we are also talk bits and not bytes.
