How do you have your connections to the devices from the power cable. Having one cable line to on drive with a lower useage device PSU > Fan > Hard Drive PSU > Hard Drive PSU > Hard Drive and so on. Some power supplies do not link to have more then one high demanding device on the same line. In terms of system stability, how do you have your partitions layed out.

You could do that, setup up in the reciver, with that it suppose to combine the signals internally and send to your tv through the Left channel to simulate mono, however some recivers do not support his feature (depending on your service) so just connecting to left channel is best.

Technically speaking, the mono port is actually just the left channel, but using a Y-adapter, it would not be recommended, as the single mono input of the TV would not handle it (in a way it does not know how to handle it), you are pretty much causing cross-talk and a dangerous audio signel crash. Regarding the lettering of the drive, how you have it partitioned makes the difference. If you have 3 or 4 Primary partitions - A little fight will occur that you do not see, each of the partitions will try to be come the First (C:\) and so on. The best way to prevent this little battle is to create one Primary and the rest under an Extended partiton. I may have new chips and boards that are Core Duo for my ordering customers, but honestly i am going to wait another 6 months, before i build my own as i am sure more Core 2 motherobards will be compliant and/or have greater support forhte processer, by that time programs (some) will be Core 2 Due optimzed. Usually i wait 7 to 12 months, but i belive it is good. Much like waiting for SAtA 2 support became more supported. By waiting i will not have to experience much design flaws. The last reason is the slowest Core 2 Due chip will be cheaer.
