Have the following updates that will not install UA have tried a few ways to install but not happening? Anyone any light. Tried VLite to incorp. them no go.

No you only need to have autoit installed to make & compile thats it.

Simply setting "Home","work" or "Public" in your xml will not overcome this. You need to use the reg tweak.

Been answered here many times on OEM machines. Because they are a third party image installs & recovery discs can be made only.

@Spoof Haven't been updating my UA for some time now & wasn't sure if these three files were changed etc. I now see I have the vers. cabs. above as quoted, they should be current? Will try now & see if WU complains & wants to install etc? Thanks,

I know were going over old ground but do we need only to preinstall the three updates above to satify WU or do we need to install Windows-Update-Agent-x86.exe as well? Thanks Guys

Thats correct.

You could also back up your firefox, theres plenty of free progs to do this. You could install UA silently above as Ricks suggestion @ the same time run your back up. I use Fabs autobackup that does much more but is very simple & convenient when you are installing frequently.

After instal of Windows Vista Service Pack 1 RC Vlite coming with error lyric ,when i indicator how vista is have found out of that`s closed WTF man whats that got to do with windows vista sounds like you should post in the VLite sect. of this board. I'm sure this has already been answered though... Merry Christmas

If you search the UA Vista section you will find a reg tweak that you can combine in your xml ans file to suppress this network selection prob. This has been an inbuilt MS problem for @ least a year now that I recall. Still no official fix.

Very worthy project. I'm very interested in same as MS says there new imaging is something else & suposedly easily done?
