  1. I must say till recently vpc2007 has been great of late I've been having network issues with it not connecting to the net? Tried all sorts to fix it no go? Don't know if there may be an xp update conflicting with it or not? Anyone else experiencing same??
  2. If memory serves VLite asks what ver of vista so you simply use image 1 in the xml always worked for me.
  3. The sata hd should not be an issue windows takes care of both ide & sata drives. raid is another story?
  4. Don't really understand your q. but this is how I silently install the english locale in Vista, should work ok in xp. From my sfx: Hope that helps?
  5. Only problem with this guys you need to clean the script following execution or else it will try to run following a restart reboot etc. The first logon/run once from your xml is a far better option here.
  6. Bud if you feel so strongly bout it may be you should yourself?? Hmm.
  7. The "wba.dbl" only works pre sp2 unfortuneately.
  8. That tweak tested on vpc 2007, working very nicely as stated for me. Thankyou.
  9. afaik there is no other legal way. Pretty sure you cannot use someone's vlk if you did you would be at risk & not only yourself but your company also. btw Atomic is that photo of you in the avatar? If so you are a very beautiful lady.
  10. Great to see its all happening for you. Could you put your xml in code tags next time though? very difficult to read.
  11. The network problem is a known ms bug & to my knowledge is still to be resolved. There is however a reg tweak to overcome this prob but doesn't work for all.
  12. Can't see exactly the problem in your specialize pass but the the shell setup is certainly an issue here. There must be an omission detected by windows halting setup.
  13. If windows is asking for your language/timezone etc, you must of ommitted that info in the xml, its not enough to include only in the PE setup but also need to fill the specialize pass & OOBE pass. Noticed in the Shell setup area you have many empty values either fill the field or delete the key. NB: When using the waik it has a built in help function just right click on any field item & it will give example etc.
  14. Thanks for sharing. I was in need of this yesterday and only had dialup access. Downloading the full WAIK was not an option. shark No Problem man.
  15. No, not aware of the aik? all freely available on the net without installing anything mee boy.
  16. You are right afaik that tweak only works for some, ms doesn't seem to have an answer to this atm. I use the same reboot to overcome it. Strange thing the home, office settings etc appear to do little anyhow?
  17. boot.wim is an image file you would simply mount it with imagex.exe which comes with the waik tools for managing images etc. imagex /mountrw D:\Unattended\Vista\Vista2\sources\boot.wim 1 D:\Unattended\Vista\Mount imagex /unmount /commit D:\Unattended\Vista\Mount Paste these two lines of code into seperate text files & name it what you wish with a .cmd ext. change the paths as you see fit.
  18. Link removed as Paragliders post, all other members kindly remove those links also.
  19. Drivers are another story & a huge prob for me atm. Maybe Bashrat will get on the Vista trail soon & sort through it. As he pretty well nailed 2k & XP to date.
  20. Use this mount your image with read write capability, be sure to alter the path & paste into your text editor a .cmd ext. Use this to commit & save etc, again alter paths as necessary. If you are running XP make sure imagex.exe is in system 32 dir, or waik is installed. The attached image shows the minimum tools reqd to do these tasks, the inf may need to be run first if using XP to build or alter files. Let me know if you need these tools I may be able to upload somewhere?
