Now we all shop for computer parts and etc online and sometimes the package gets returned. In my case never, but it finally happened, Not by the USPS Not by Fedex but by the god forsaken UPS. I never knew until I finally got one notice in the mail that states that UPS sent my package once, and only once. Yet I go online and findout that UPS seny my package three times and finally returned it on the third time. Of course I have to join there website to even find this information out. I mean $#@!#@$#@$## the driver left a note stating it was the first time yet, it was really the third . So now I have to complain to UPS and then tell the sending ( who probably know this already ) that the package is at there office. Now I have to spend another twenty dollars that would eqaul to the amount it would take for me to drive to the sender. I mean I only got one notice in the mail and it was third time? It is even marked for the first time delivery. I was thinking about contacting better business bureau and telling them about UPS actions after I talk with UPS.

Okay about graphics cards. Basically it is a two way streak. A. You want a card that has a whole bunch of features like 1. Over clocking B) 2. upgradable ram 3. Smoothing 4. comes with it's own acellerator. or B. You want a all in one card that you will not have to change at all for life. 1. Will play all 3d games no matter what. 2. Will even allow fast emulation of the PS2, X-box, and maybe just maybe a GCN. 3. Is used in CAD developlement. 4. Can work in pairs So you can go down to BestBuy or you can be like Jhonny Five in "Short Circuit 2" and go crazy beefing up your PC like a horse without a mate. Then again you might want to stay Zen and go threw peoples garbage like a do I would go with the trash hunt. Since most cards eventually gets wiped out by gaming consoles.

Well I would go with Win95 ertl ( maybe that is SE ) . I heard it is Windows 98 without all the garbage ( like the IE. ) In fact along with downgrading to Windows 1.0 or 2.0 I also would go with the 95SE. 98 for the longest has been my operating system choice and has not failed me yet. However in use of heavy downloading ( like big 50gig files ) or High end usage programs ( CAD/Quark/Paintshop ) 98 will slow up. Playing games have been great on the 98 machine also and 95 is kinda way back there. However in all the work places, schools, and such nobody use 98 for the fact that 95 can run all the same programs. However I long for Win 3.0 or something earlier.

So I finally got the computer to go on the internet. I decided to upgrade to 2000. So far it works but it has a download limit. I can browse all kinds of webpages with no problems but when anything starts to download like a Youtube video Direct Download Even a Microsoft upgrade It stops functioning completly. It is like the direct download limit is capped below a MB or something. I can even view this page and others alike but everytime I go and attempt to download something it dissconnects.

I have been faithfull in ME for years but now I have a router on the system. The wireless is working ( 2000 ) my computer is working ( Win 98 ) any other computer is workign ( OSX, Amiga, MSX, Sharp9800 ) However the ME machine just keep losing connection every single minute. I beleive the user of this machine did something ( like upgrade the Explorer ) and now they keep complaining to me. I have tried reinstalling only to fail to eeradicate the problem, reinstalling the router, and even test each machine from differnt points of the network. Even on the modem alone it still refuses to upload. In the end I am left with a computer that is unable to use the internet. I know that ME has network problems but hey this machine is the kiddie machine and it is easier to recover then a machine with Xp, 2000, or even 98 on it. Help me Obi one canobie

Yes in fact I wrote about this earlier. Pages like Ebay ( in which I am on alot ) along with Youtube, Deviantart, and any other pages like these caused my Browser SeaMonkey to crash. I tried to give in and updating my flash but it just caused more problems. Basically consumer pages since the new Flash 8 ( I forget which version ) has been differnt coding. Take for example how Java might be nammed java but the commands in java has been extended. Webpages like Ebay is not even considering the users of 9X at all anymore. I run the same pages on my Mac osx book, and a Windows XP machine and they work fine. These are problems that I have encounted. Deviantart---uses a interface that barely can support my IE4 and causes Seamonkey to crash Youtube----- was working but somewhere around Flash 8 release the video type was also changed as well. Ebay----- They upgraded the website with many graphical features. However this is not the problem. The problem is THE GRAPHIC DESINGERS who designs the ADVERTISMENTS. Basically the advertisments caused my computer to crash and then eventually Ebay updating the website. Somebody made a FLASH BLOCKER ( I forget ) plugin for Seamonkey and other browsers and that is what I have been using ever since. I think I am so desperate to not see another Flash page I might instal Grease Monkey. However the problem is mostly with Ebay. Where my computer starts to use ddhelp ( DirectX Helper ) just to load the pages. It gets so frustrating that I even lose the chance to snipe bids on ebay :realmad: . I want a 3d party ebay browser just for ebay that shows images and the name of the search or something simpler. Also I want Youtube to downgrade there flash video type. According to one of my Flash books it refers that Flash Eight introduced new securities, and it also changed the format of the movieclip that is loaded. I can't find the page now but I do know that somewhere around that upgrade in eight is when this crap started to occur. It is so bad it is like watching Max Head Room on my desktop. Make it stop somebody.

1. It does not matter what features is on the DVD drive as long as it can read DVD-R. The only reason you need it to read any other type is that you want to read or write to the special format types that goes above 16GB and so forth. 2. All Drives have a rom chip ( or whatever ) that prevents it from reading etc DVD movies from other regions. Meaning you have to be able to flash that ( forget the name ) in order to read every disc region. I have a Notebook that is really sweet but I can't even watch my DVD magazine from Russia or Thailand So I would advise you to find out if the drive is flashable ( I forget the name ) and how it went with other people flashing it. 3. A slow drive so what. In the proffesional authoring world everything is 2X speed. 2X has been the limit since VCD was around to run video on a machine. 4. Those printable covers may it be the stick on's or pre-written disc is the only choice. Light scribe or whatever is kinda pointless unless it is a universal device which there is no such thing. HP is trying to propertize this.

1. You can run Mac OS on a regular PC. However since every release of Mac OS is diffrent from the last one. ( meaning a diffrent operating system ) older programs will not run without runtime files ( simular to java ). AGAIN EVERY RELEASE OF MAC IS DIFFRENT FROM THE LAST ONE 2. You can run Mac OS from within the windows operating system. However I don't know the versions and variations of this. However as with the Windows in a MacOSx operating system you can. 3. About Mac being propertory. The Apple computers have allways been this way and thus allowed cheaper production. In short a Macintosh/Apple is really a type of Videogame system. So when using it's software on another hardware it requires more proccessing power like that of a videogame emulator ( a progam that mimics ). This is probably the turning point of the Apple series along with Apple Apple II Apple 3G Apple 9 ( which I am assuming is the g4 ) Apple 10 ( the one that is using phedora or whatever it is called. Making it a entirly diffrent OS ) The truth is people are just tired of Windows. I know the basic of windows enough to say that I am computer expert. Nobody cares about XP since they just jumped the band wagon on that. About Windows 98. If you ever seen the video where Bill Gates is showing off there new capabilities to find other devices ( in this case a printer ) he gets the Blue Screen. What is funny is how this is the same tatic used for the XP series.

I have not got into yet but while it is cool and such it looks like it is using alot of unnessary resources to do what it do. However. Havent they done this on the N64 already? I am pretty sure there is a 3d version of Space Invaders on the N64.

Why not load the game from another hard drive with a regular Direct X that is not the one you are using. Have you tried using a official direct X installation that is not C, A, B, or D. I never did like the unofficial installations. Alos has somebody else or did you upgrade something that had to do with Direct X. Remember one thing affects another. Also about the recent upgrades. Many websites have made the move the Flash 9 which is not like the original FLASH. I forget which versions of Flash but uptill a certain point my computer started to function incorrectly. However this is a assumed guessed. In my computer (98 machine ) when I load pages that uses the flash everything just gets slower and the computer launches something that makes it works extra hard.

Why not just flat screens with no Tv tuners???

Basically you all you need for a family PC is Any regular over the counter PC with a 3Ghz proccessor Any regular graphics card that is probably priced at 200-400 The DVD needs to be able to read all formats so I would check out DVD drives that has no protection or the flash driver files 1Gig of memory sounds good. In terms of dreamweaver the only problem I see is zooming which takes alot of memory. It depends on how you convert the dollars. Logically it is sappose to be flat out same in terms of store price.

What do I need to configure my router at the end of my switch. Basically it is Modem/ PC ( 98 )/ Switch / Router ( D-link )/ Wireless (D-link )/ PC (Xp ) So far I have been able to get a ping from the modems line that is connected to the switch. Basically it is 192.168.0.3 from a line that is 192.168.0.1 being used from the built in internet connection sharing of my computer. However now I need to be able to go on the internet with the wireless. I know I could just plug the router into the modem and let it pick up automatically. I could only guess there is certain settings I need to put in. The router is a Airplus G-Extreme. Wireless Router. I only hope for a utility that could help me get online and give me all the right readings. The thing is just do not want to put anything between me and main computer ( my computer ) on the net. I have already inputted the WEP since there is like a bunch of people around the area using wireless. I figure I am missing two things. The network configuration in the XP machine The network configuration on the router.

For starters by journal I could only assume a blog format which is the basic webpage that is all over the place. I would imagine that you would be inserting images, links, and maybe videos. If not then I suggest using a automated blog system like 1. My journal 2. A Campus school webpage automated blog system. Which in most cases is free and you would need to talk with people at the sed place. Questions no.1: Is my approach correct? In most cases a educational website just gives a link to a server that has the sed content in a list that is basically the server ( this is what I exprienced way back then when I would search by accident to see a server folder by accident. ). Another thing I could only assume you mean stuff like excel and access. Where you are listing and catergorizing things. I don't know anything about Typo3 since that is a organizer of some sort. I am just usted to seeing everything in one folder and the user only seeing the following page. However from what your telling me you are creating a type of blog. In short. 1. If you know what you are doing and you have big big plans then you need a organizer program. 2. If your doing this in terms of informing people you know who is going to skim threw everything then you don't need this. However I am no medicine person so I can't image the webpage such person would be usted to seeing. The only pages that you make me think of is pages like Educational pages like blackboard for example. 3. If you really need these helper programs I suggest finding them.

Oh thank god I never brought the game for the GCN. Oh mercy lord I was going to buy a edited game . I remember it being on sale. Also this is just dumb. I mean look at all the regular channels that have violence level which I have yet to see. Then if you replace a couple of the characters with turbans, facial features, skin tone, or body shape it instantly becomes erasist. fourty to fifty years ago it was less rasict and less violent then it is now and people are bitching about this kinda jiberish. This is a joke right? Personally I am still trying to look for that red head that was in the X-box version of GTA:VC. They are going to cut out things and some of the dialoag will be missing too. I just bet Personally from what I have been seeing the new GTA is probably the most worst one. Going back to basics and insighting viloence and angry public ideas. I use flash myself and I love it. It is just that with the recent upgrade in flash along with any update in the creation tool people who use the new functions will cause more problems for people who choose not to upgrade there browser. This is why when I dine with flash I have to be carefull so that lower flash will be useable otherwise it will not appear. About Google. I really can't see how Google advertisment does well whenever it is just links. I have seen the kind of person who does clicks on these links but I never since the past clicking these links led me to virus filled webpages. Like the one that is left behind a website that has closed down. I have only heard about pushing your webpage upgfront to make it appear first. I am just fed up with all this upgrade which changes the entire program all together. It is like the WMV8 to WMV9 nonsense where Mafiasoft stop supporting WMV8 in favor of the corperate model. About choosing to click on flash. I have done in the pass but when this newer upgrade rolled along I was barely able to scroll and even clikced on the Flash by accident LIKE more then ten times in a second. It is not bothering me on a creative level just on a user level who has to either choose to install something or wipe it from my mind completly.

Okay so I had to block ALL FLASH in my browser recently. While this was a problem I just thought about something. How many people will be affected by this and the advertisment people who is going to lose money once they find out people is so desperate to block flash that causes a close out who is going to see somebodies flash asides the consumer who will upgrade willingly. I am just wondering how many people have had to deal with this? Aside for the Flash blocker thingy I even had to block the god auwfull Youtube. I mean forcing us to upgrade to another PC just for there flash garbage is one thing but having little add-on's that makes no diffrent at all but come on.

I am just adding my two cents here. If it is a program interference then it might be something that is not legal to begin with. Like Magical ISO gives me a problem sometimes after time has passed or Divx is not even a consumer or inhouse codec. Also why do you need Encarta to begin with? Personally I use the net to obtain information now considering dictionary and having solid materials on hand.

Hi I am looking for a Fontbook program for windows. While I know I could use paint to browse threw all the fonts I was just wondering. I found out somebody made such a program and was distubuting it. If people don't know Fontbook is a program used on Mac for designers mostly who use qaurk ( which will not display the font when choosing ). However it is nice to have since you can browse threw it. I was just wondering what is the highest qaulity of floppys I could buy??? I have a Verbatin which was given to me at my college while I was taking the excel class. It is also the same brand my mom had back then in her days of college. My pop had IBM brand, way way back. Officemax black brand I got from my portfolio proffessor back then. Dell brand I seen around while I was working. Then there is all the colorfull brands I see in riteaid, circuit city, Officemax as well as other. Then this half colored disc I got when I ordered a imported product. This disc only reads up to 1MB however. I was just wondering ( while it may be a insane question ). I am not looking for storage ( which would be insane in todays world ) but repeative use. Thank you for the responce.

Well the ulitmate computer is no mere consumer thingy. I forget the name of it but on the news a while back 2001-2003 ( I forget since I don't cont anything after 2000 ). There is a group of people who connected a hundred smaller computers together to make one big one in order to break the record of the fastest computer. I beleive it wented Gigaflops and was in the area of Tera's compared to super computers built by IBM for the goverment and the Earth Simulators in Japan that predicts the weather. I have allways wanted to do such a thing but lack the obvious know how and more importantly the money to do so. Basically all you need is an regular PC you can find off the street and link there CPU together. However the thing I worried about is power issue However I am using a Celeron consumer computer from about 2000. What I need would be a something that could go 4gigs to boost my machine. I am not looking for anything in terms of special effects.

I don't know anything about recording programs on a programmer or command line scale but I heard of a a Kbyte application called Fireburner I keep seeing it pop up every once a while. I also would try Alcohol 120% Which I loved to use in the past but I had messed up installation. Then there is Cheatah Burner which can even run in DOS. If the file is not that diffrent I would try any random burner program. The only down side to Nero is the fact it keeps making a IMG and then burning it forcing to use my space.

The term clipboard is commonly used in multifuctioning* software ( like word, excel, and acess ) * I forget the term for programs that can use data from other programs. The "clipboard" is basically data that your computer holds on to until you release it or it is automatically transfered to another program. Everytime you type or injest data the previous action is stored on the clip board ( memory) Bigger power usage programs like Quark, PaintShop, Corel, and others has a bigger and better clipboard to store actions from years in the past. However these programs literally saves the data and request do you want the data on the clip board for another time or a simular message. The bigger problem is that with the constant usage of memory ( clipbaord ) the PC might breakdown or Hard dirve ( if moving ) might stop and you will have to restart. A recent exaple of the clipbaord is the program Bittorrent while the data is on your PC if for some reason the computer turns off the data will be lost and disregaurded as empty space. Meaning that while data in the clipboard ( wherever it might be ) on the Hard Drive or Memory itself. It is only for a limited time. In short CLIPBOARD is a fake ( fancy pants ) term for memory. Kinda like people who think using DOS basic constantly makes them a programmer or look smarter then Homer Simpson GUI users.
