Well what you saying is that you want to confine all your software to one DVD hmm.... For that you would need a multi program loader 1# like the one where you insert disc and the chioces come up in dos 2# The one that comes up automatically in your GUI OS allowing you to choose which installation. Then again you could convert everything to a IMG ( if the files are on CD in this case ). Use a mount program like MagicalISO to gain access to the startup exe when you need to use it. For the Command line /DOS programs you would copy the contents of the Floppy and put it in a folder .then when using command line point to the startup exe file. Finally record the ISO files and floppy data on the DVD as data. So when you need to use the ISO/IMG files just use magicalISO and startup the exe from the IMG and in command line point to the file on the disc. Maybe you would have shortcuts on the top level of the DVD for the commmand line programs. I had this idea from when I realize I could just record Video game data on a cd and point to the drive using it as a directory instead of mumbo jumbo everything into compression and then unloading or writing the disc.

Like I said I have this idea for Apple computers ( the Blue Apple ) and I would like suggestions on how to send or do a presentation. Regaurdless of what my idea is I was wondering if I am able to protect my idea even if it is the most slightest thing anybody would come up with. The answer for that is probably no but still throw some things on the table. 1# I was thinking of calling Apple and going there with my home made commercial and presenting it on dvd, vhs or whatever they use. Then ask them what they think of the idea. 2# Then I was thinking of going there with a live representation presentation. Where I show off my small idea and then some even if it is not in full working order. To make this better I would have to spend some money. 3# Lastly out of keeping the idea between me and Apple I would just mail the commercial in and then wait to see if I get a responce. 4# I would make the commercial a youtube video and maybe it would get as much attention as that Kiwi, Titanic: Two the top, Christmas Lights video, or even the N64 kid. 5# All of the above but in cartoon form. 6# I do not do anything media like and just send a letter stating my idea to Apple. With my Idea I believe Apple would benifit greatly from it.

Nandub/Virtual Dub DGigrinder/DVD2AVi Using Nandub itself will allow you to convert to AVI. DVD2AVi will allow you to make settings on the VOB files in the term that VOB files are classified as DVD format.

I use ogg drop via Nero Wave editor. It is fast and easy way to convert any Ogg audio file into Wav. I don't know about any other file types but Ogg drop is fast and easy for ogg to wav. Afterwards I use Nero Wave editor ( which is included with Nero5 ) and then save the wav as a mp3. I wish there was a editor that could learn how to encode and read various audio files without being built in.

The GCN sound format that is used in GameCube games is way better then using mp3 for the size. WMA sound will give you great sound no diffrent from MP3 to a regular listeners ears but WMA is Microsofts format and I consider anything a promtion to Microsoft a bad thing. You have to consider the player is using a codec to play these files.

You can't remove sounds or overlayed music from a complete file. Even you could the file would still contain some of the extra music. I would ask a classical music or any sound forum about this. Since there is allways somebody trying to remove white noise and other stuff from early recordings. like the person above me said. just shut off the music and record the sound voice. However I am not sure if the real speaking voices in Starfox is not part of the music.

-games run faster on 98 still. Your games will still run the same way on Vista. -Vista is not faster at all nore it is a upgrade to XP. Vista is a move into the 3d OS department. like when Compaq used a 3d explorer interface that made it seem that you was explorering a 3d house but in truth you was still in 95. The 3d in this explorer of course was like the 3d of Resident Evil. Vista 3d is real and not pre-rendered. So you could image them having a GUI that is a game character running around doing your tasks. Think of Vista GUI as a GUI in the Sci-Fi series Andromeda or the way it really looks in the movie tron. In truth you are not explorering the auctual computer world but a 3d interface of that world. Our current OSX is like that Genie OS in the Earth: Final Conflict. While we can give orders and get the reponse about the order. OUr computers in not equiped with life motion sensors and Voice command. -Yes it is enough.

This would occur with the SIMS2 sometimes and other times would be where there is something missing or not installed correctly. About other programs I suggest stopping any unwanted process that starts up on the computer. it might be memory problem.

I do not really care about speed. All I care about is getting files compressed to the smallest I can get without multicompressing from compresser to compressor. If this thing can do it better then 7-zip then I am sold and of course for free rather then the pop-up register/buy me Winrar. Also on the topic can this compressor compress in multiple files for storage on smaller medium. If it can multi compress a video file and make it smaller then winrar this is something that people will start to use.

9x can see only up to 2TB since a FAT32 partition can only go that far. However if you ever had to scan disk on that drive you would be waiting for weeks for it to finish. SO the problem there would be you would need to install a diffrent scan disk tool in replacement of the 98 scandisk. About NT partition I think somebody here already did this on this webpage and is in this section. You need to get the driver files that 2000/XP use to see NTFS. However it can only read not write since there is the issue with files over 4gig.

A great example is DVD shrink. Wit DVD shrink you can dramatically shrink the Video file ISO IMAGE file ( whatever file it is I forget ) and then you burn it you are able to fit the file on a single DVD. I have gotten a movie that was really 8Gigs on a 4Gig disc. Generally they Encode the video and audio data and tell the program to compress the data as much as it can. Then they make the ISO/IMAGE file and use another program to Shrink the ISO file. Finally they use a burner program that is given the order to shrink the file as much as possible when burning. In General they would 1.Encode/Compress and make it small as possible 2. Create ISO/IMAGE file and make it small as possible or at least the amount of disc space. Emulated run. 3. Then test burn with etc program to make sure the outcome is just as planed. I have also seen a couple of 800MB files out there that burns on a disc. There is also something called dummy space. Where they add a whole slew of blank data to take up the rest of the disc. A great example of this is when you use Emule and Emule starts downloading it puts a place holder of false space on your Hard Drive which is really blank space ( where you can see/hear anything that is in that blank space that is leftover. I do not have the names of official programs but there must be alot of them flying around. if there is possible to tie more then 1Gb in a 700MB CD then why DVD? The thing is it is more cheaper to use DVD at 4gigs and in terms of what you are storing it would be easier to store safely. However with a CD you can seperate the data and in case one CD breaks you will still have the other. Also the only reason for the size increase at times was to avoid the above as with PSX games that have a extra 100MB which is barely the need for a second disc or VCD movies which would be a real pain having to switch discs. Also people are stupid at times and might damage the CD where the data could be lost easy

I never uploaded anything to Youtube however FLV is a compressed file type like avi or even wmv. SWF or any Flash file is able to have FLV ( whatever video flash supports ) content contained in it. So basically you are just recording the Flash/SWF/Power Point presentation and then encoding it into a video file type. Any SWF file is the Flash program running with whatever content the user ingest into the file. Think of it as Power Point for idiots or Hypo Power Point. This is why the flash type is popular and most likely eliminated the Power Point standard. A great example of a Power Point/Flash Presentation is the intros/Time Events/Outros in most 2d Videogames and programs.

It is not the consumers who really matters it is the companies and organizations that does work that requires such and such programs. The problem is that once they see one program can out do another decided to make the jump. Like with Imageready( I forget the program name ) vs. Quark. Quark is only supported up to 4.11 for 98 but Quark is at 6 and 7 with MacOSX and XP. Now for me to do my work at home ( like it should be ) I would have to invest in the hardware and software. Leaving me no other options in order to get the work done. For me it would be. Linux + Mplayer + Gui + Remote bound = Home Theather. Linux will get the job done much faster then since it was originally made for Linux and me wanting a simple setup would be better. With 98 I could setup a Gui or even use another program like BSplayer or VLC but after video file after video file the problems with 98 like leftover stored data would progress and that limitation of 1GIG memory. 2000 + Any Video Editing = Safer/faster ???? With 2000 and the NTFS format I can have a big file that could be 16 exabytes ( I forget if this is the file size or partition size ). Which means I would have more programs to choose from that would not split the file ( regaurdless of shotty programing I would think it would be safer then wokring with broken parts. ) . Yet there is many programs out there that will split a file on Windows 98 and allow you to I have also heard Amiga was the start of video editing for home users. Sound editing. I have never seen or imaging a RAW music file being bigger then 4GIGS. If so then these programs must have divided the file or they used something else like a Apple. Also Sound editors for years had many kinds of Hardware but never cared about things like which OS. GAME PROGRAMMING... You can do the main 3d creating on a 98 machine with XSI, Maya, or whatever VRML based program that is out there since the days of 198?. Programing deos not require alot space but then again RAM might be the issue here. Still again there is many programmers that deal with RAM. Again the question is what system did the creators of Final Fantasy: Advent Children, Beast Wars, Reboot, Donkey Kong Country, and even Resident Evil used. Most of the time it is a Command Line interface while other times it is just what can you get he most power out of. In terms of game programming people still use 95 and where this fails they use Apple. If no that then something like BSOD or Sun. Like I mentioned earlier Corperations are the real consumers and will be the ones to judge the outcome. As with Vista. In terms with VideoGame players controlling whcih OS there game could be played on. Time and Time again we have learned that people are that stupid amnd rather get it over with. It is going to be like last year and the year before with people buying craptacullar OS and programmers who are forced to make programs for these OSes will abandon 98 just as when NT emerged. The thing is Command line is the real king but people in this world are just too ignorant to use it. That is the truth. 98 will allways be my gaming machine but the truth is that is what 98 is. A perfect consumer OS for regular multi purpose use. You can do a little of everything but not the best of everything. 98 is the best game machine.

Well I tone down my monitors Lighting settings since the brightness annoys me sometimes. However when I change the display setting from another resolution the screen goes back to it's original settings. Maybe you need to change your resolution in display properties.

Zxian they probably already did it and they have a working gameboy3d on the side in case the NDS fails. If the Wii suddenly lost all intrest and people suddenly started to buy CGN games they would instantly release the so called accelerator which would probably be the Wii in a nutshell. My post made perfect sense crahak. There is no contestant in this so called system race. Why bother care about graphics when the Saturn and even the SNES can create vondeful graphics. Why should I hav to deal with polygons that looks out of order and complete eradicates my definition of realism vs represention.

This is what I want to do also. I want to get my Radio License and then broadcast via the net and maybe sattelight. Blah Blah I want to run my own show and talk about etc and play music but I do not have the tools. I think we would need a streaming software that would pickup your mike and anything playingback on your computer then it wouild playback when somebody goes to your www etc link. Like the way webcam software can stream low end images and high definition video but only sound. The only problem would be the computer you are using for this task and how long it is going to be running which would probably use low resources but still. I have not used FTP for anything in a long time but you can setup a FTP on your own computer ( which most people use it for ) to allow people like your family and freinds to download various stuff from your computer. 2000 and NT I think already have FTP built in but for 98 or Linux you need a seperate program which you should be able to use FTPing on your webspace also. Do not forget to use passwords and block off areas not intended for outsiders. However FTP on your computer can be slow if your upload is slow but is great way to share small files.

Most of the time you would just translate the website manually and create a second set of pages with the same file links only each page afterwards would point to the same second sets of pages in your choosen language. Then in order for people to access the pages you would have a little nation flag at the corner or link saying View this page in X language. This is a great thing to do if you want more advertisment where each second or third sets of pages could have the exact same link but only diffrent advertments towards those speakers.
