  1. That is because this game requires IPX-SPX network protocol which is not supported anymore in Vista and 7.
  2. May I take this opportunity to welcome you to THE forums and kindly remind you about our rules, especially this one:
  3. If you mean the script in gamehead200's signature, relax, as nobody else apart from you can see it. It is a script from danasoft.com, have a look and you will understand And welcome to THE forums
  4. Although for proper diagnostics we would need a full memory dump of the machine (how-to here: http://www.msfn.org/board/creating-memory-dumps-t130004.html), for start I'd recommend you download and run Memtest (available here: http://www.memtest.org/), then come back here with the results. Also, could you please tell us if the machine is overheating? And welcome to THE forums too
  5. Hello and welcome to THE forums! I'd say the nLite section should give you a good start. Read through and feel free to ask if you encounter any problems
  6. You didn't specify other specs of the machines, such as CPU and RAM either. How many machines are we talking about? Wouldn't it be easier to buy bigger drives to surpass the space problem? Oh, and welcome to THE forums!
  7. No problem at all That's why we are THE forum when it comes down to microsoft software
  8. That is actually the only tool I use from Norton. I can't believe we still get pc's with Norton preinstalled MSE has been installed on almost all of the ~5000 pc's from the company I work at and it saved me A LOT of hassle. And it's free too.
  9. As cluberti stated above, and I don't think businesses would be too pleased if their machines and bandwidth were used to stream movies (or music, etc...) across the network. That is exactly why Home Server was designed. Think of it as a security measure against the so-called "adminz", if you know what I mean (yes, they still exist out-there). And Home Server doesn't need the amount of security and features available in server 2008 as it was never designed for use in a business environment.
  10. You may look on microsoft's website for any webcasts related to your needs. Good luck!
  11. Indeed, just check the box that says "replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object" and you're set, Trip Saves a lot of time going through all the folders / files on the drive
  12. Is your 2003 server a domain controller? If yes, you can use the group policy features in it and restrict access to cd-rom's to locally logged-on users only and prevent user's installation of drivers for the USB drives. Done it myself in quite a big environment (64 servers and over 5000 workstations) and it works like a charm. Mind you, if there are installed any USB drives so far, you will have to manually uninstall them prior to aplying the policy. As for burning CD's, you will find in group policy editor a policy that removes the burning option for cd-rom's too Hope that helps.
  13. Since the router is not broadcasting its SSID (aka "network name"), you must create the network profile on the laptop, input the name of the network you want to connect to and the network key. It is normal for the laptop not to see the network if it doesn't broadcast its name
  14. Now please remove the USB WLAN adapter, plug in the LAN cable and do the same. Also, please tell us what IP address you see under Local Area Connection, what subnet mask, gateway and DNS servers. Good luck! PS. It might be worth remembering the IP address, gateway and DNS servers for the WLAN Adapter.
  15. Since you can connect through the USB WLAN, can you do the following? Click on start button ---> run ---> type in "cmd" without the quotes (a black window will appear) ---> type in the black window "ipconfig /all" without the quotes and look at the lines under Wireless Network Connection. Can you tell us if the line that reads "DHCP enabled" is Yes or No? We need to know this in order to find if the router gives you the IP address, or if it needs to be entered manually. nitroshift
  16. Thank God for computers! Sometimes when I write in a hurry, after a little while not even myself can read it!!!
  17. Have you tried a different media?
  18. The RC build was designed to be tested for a pre-determined amount of time. There is no way one can remove the time limit. In your case a reinstall is mandatory.
  19. Since your laptop goes as far as showing the Windows start-up, the BIOS is fine. I would try first booting in safe-mode (hit F8 at start-up, then choose Safe Mode) and if that doesn't solve the problem I would say a reinstall is due...
  20. That software contains the drivers too.
  21. Have you tried to set the resolution form the in-game settings?
  22. Looking at the results above, I guess my home connection doesn't score too bad: PS. Yeah, I know, I'm bored
  23. Thanks for sharing this Creating a USB drve right now...
  24. No, it's not possible to install the OS on a SD-card... Why exactly are you trying to do this?
