Create a dump as described here, compress it and and upload it somewhere we cand fetch it from to have a look. It might be that the drivers and the card are ok... On a side note, what codecs have you got installed on your system?

An easier method is to have the disk partitioned before installing Windows using a different tool, such as PartitionMagic, Acronis suite, etc.

What codecs do you have installed on that computer? Try this: click on Start ---> All Programs ---> Accessories ----> right click on Command Prompt and chose Run as Administrator. That will open a DOS-like window. In that window type regsvr32 /u lmpgspl.ax and press Enter on your keyboard. Let us know if it worked. System Restore to a point prior to your actions?

On to your dilemma: I've used the 5230 for a couple of days, was unhappy with it, moved onto HTC. The 6303 seems OK for what you want / need and that's what it comes down to (apart from taste / bragging, etc ). If I were you, I'd go for the cheaper 6303 as it's based on the 6300 platform (I've used the 6300 for over a year, was extremely happy with it). Hope this hepls you. nitropuppy

I decided to post this here as it is OS independent. On to the problem: After installing any OS, touchpad and keyboard respond very, very slowly and most of the times they don't respond at all (can't move the cursor or type anything). The problem doesn't come up if I use USB mouse and keyboard or boot in Safe Mode. Right now I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate x86 during first trial 30 days (not willing to activate it then realise some hardware died), but the issue can be reproduced in any OS (tried XP Professional and Vista Business, both x86). Laptop specs: Intel Pentium M 1.73GHz 1.5GB RAM 100GB hard-disk Intel 915GM graphics Any clue or idea is welcomed! nitropuppy

At this point I would stop looking at the USB ports and start investigating the i-software itself.

I've finally set up my home network the way I like it... More stuff (machines) will be added later, but for now, it looks like this: Hardware firewall is a Juniper Barracuda, LAN Router is a cheapo IPTime device, WiFi router is a U.S. Robotics and media converters are all Allied Telesyn. Real Time Communication server is a Fedora core-based shared satellite zapping directory server with 2 NIC's running in DMZ mode to which my pc connects locally over one NIC. The PC's specs are in my signature and the laptop and PDA connect wirelessly to the U.S. Robotics. Next thing to be added is a file server and most likely a network video projector.
