  1. Zidane did it again! just when everyone was thinking england won! C'est La Vie well actually c'est le football anything can happen Greece was also a shock for many ppl
  2. quick guidance monitor your registry! if u're doing this for only 1 computer i'd say the best effective way would be modifying the hive*.inf files...
  3. if it wipes u're hdd u need to get a new hdd ? why? it doesn't kill your hdd, all u'd need is a format if the situation is that bad. but I think it can be easily recovered from the virus and trojans. ok from the link beenthereb4 provided I'd do this: since the restore folders are contaminated with the virus I believe u cannot really restore, even if u restore u'll be getting the virus back so disable it run the virus check.. again for most of the viruses u don't really need to get a brand new of anything, well maybe get a brand new OS? / anti-virus program about loadqm I once thought u were using xp anyways if ME needs it that's cool
  4. that file gets created with execution of the modern skin plugin (i think that's right) if not its one other plugin I cannot check right now..
  5. no that is correct.. but change the a:\ to .\ as well..
  6. I personally used r studio ntfs recovery recovered 100% of my hdd.
  7. I'd delete this: C:\WINDOWS\LOADQM.EXE did u follow the steps btw? disable all startup items disable system restore and etc.. ???
  8. official nvidia released version is 56.72 this .01 difference I'd say is a misspelling I've 60.72 for the record..
  9. hmm i'm sure someone else will reply but install ultravnc put a password, and let me have a look at your comp? u can cut the connection whenever u want if u don't trust me...
  10. there is a setting in the registry that enables u to hide your computer from getting browsed by other computers on the network maybe u have that on? though its off by default...
  11. well yes or no I wouldn't use the included drivers because they don't contain the nvidia tools. so u are not going to have to toolbar thus won't be able to change settings.. I mean its probably going to be updated but i wouldn't use them if I were playing games otherwise use them..
  12. ow that's because it can be used as connecting to a hardware (external hdd per say.) AND to another computer directly or through a hub. that's the reason.. I mean it beats crosslink cable, on my laptop I've 10/100mbit network card + firewire, so i personally use the firewire cable to connect to my friends computer for transferring files and playing games..
  13. hmm yes but the menu folders can easily be changed through editing the msi files and/or transforms also I believe I've mentioned the "move" idea... anyways I don't think there is any need for this.. I'm sure he's going to clarify himself if he hasn't got the answer yet...
  14. yes there are plent of programs I personally use ultravnc to connect to other computers in my home network of course there are better programs pc anywhere was pretty popular back in 2000 when i first got interested in remote control i'd check that and I'm pretty sure there are billions of other programs there is one that is advertised everywhere on every banner, gotomypc I belive was its name try that too but for simple control i'd go with ultravnc....
  15. ok first go to msconfig and clear the startup items and look at start menu "start up" folder and remove the suspicious looking files then use at least 2 spyware programs to remove the spyware update all of them (I usually use 3-4 of them to make sure..(for my friends who complain about spyware)) anyways after u complete this run a virus check and if that fails manually remove the files some recent files I have discovered were in program files dir check there and i'm sure there are many other suspicios looking files all over the hdd. there are not so many place they can be anyways 1. clear startup items (msconfig + start menu) 2. run spyware 3. run anti-virus then u should be okay! if the antivirus complains about the virus not being removed manually delete it.. if it says "cannot delete" check your taskmanager and see if that files is working. then since some files are in your _restore folder for once go to system properties and disable the "system restore" u can get it back up after u clear your virus/etc...
  16. is that intel or amd? if its amd i'd say its a little above normal u can always get another fan! not expensive either..
  17. i dunno whats wrong with it but "Rshutdown.exe -r -f -t 60 -c "Windows XP will now restart in 1 minute..." u have a "R" at the beginning that's wrong... what do u have in your svcpack.inf? or in_?
  18. your cd source is corrupt check the file size and recopy the file..
  19. those vmd files get created different everytime u install winamp as u said the records of those files are in the library file which I cannot recall now. in my + alanoll's msi those files are set to be the same for each computer and the other files are changed accordingly so look at the *ml* file (I don't remember now)
  20. 1st does that winamp need to be pskilled as well? this shouldn't matter but u're executing the nero's registry twice.. as well as tweakui with different switches?? and what's not working?
