  1. I've had nothing but problems too... Downloading at ~80kb/s, and it cuts off about halfway.
  2. It can't be a human- nobody knows for sure the real storage capacity of a human brain. 4 TB would just be a guess. My guess, Data from Star Trek
  3. @Tinker - Great work! Interesting idea! @ElMonty - Thanks for the compliments! I tried making the logo with that font- mind you, it was tough (Putting wide fonts in small spaces is challenging, I think Tinker knows what I'm talking about ) If you'd like to have just "XP Ultra" in the new font, but change the other text fonts to something more readable, just let me know.
  4. Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but can't you go into the "User Accounts" page in the Control Panel, click the account in question, and click on "Change account type"? Just change it to an admin there.
  5. You may have spyware on your computer. To remove it, go to LavasoftUSA.com and download the free version of Adaware. Update the reference files, and then scan your entire machine. If that doesn't remove the spyware or fix the problem, try downloading Spybot S&D to scan again. If all else fails, Google search for "Reinstall Internet Explorer" and follow the instructions.
  6. I gave it a shot: I can change pretty much anything you want, except doing 3D text. I have no experience with 3D text in low resolutions. Don't be afraid to ask me to change something! I can give any other graphic artists the .psp file if they like the background and want to add 3D text.
  7. The best thing to do in a situation like this is to simply experiment. Try dumping all the files into 1 directory, and make an ISO out of it using a program such as WinISO. Next, if you have Windows installed in a virtual environment (VirtualPC, VMWare, etc.) try out the DVD ISO first before you burn it, to save yourself from making coasters. If dumping all the files into one directory doesn't work, try putting them in different folders, or mix and match similar folders, etc. It'd be great if you had a rewritable DVD to test this with, but if you don't, I recommend the virtual option. If you try anything, let us know what worked and what didn't. Good luck!
  8. Unless you found that link as a trial download, I think that's against the forum rules to post it. (Doesn't it classify as bypassing a site's security or something?) It just seems wrong. That's my opinion, anyways.
  9. Hi RaidenX! Welcome to the forums
  10. Windows NT Embedded support has most likely been discontinued, so finding a trial will be very hard. Unless you specifically need NT Embedded, I suggest you research XP Embedded, as it is the latest product out there. You can download a trial of it here, and can find more information on this page. If you have any further questions, don't hesistate to post.
  11. You should add a line under the [operating systems] section that looks like this: multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows Millenium Edition" /fastdetect I don't know if 9X/ME can use the /fastdetect option. You'll have to change the numbers inside the () if ME is installed on a different drive, or a different partition. Alternatively, if you have a Windows XP CD on hand, boot from the cd, enter recovery console, and type "bootcfg /rebuild". That will fix the links.
  12. Either use cdimage like XtremeMaC said (which can be downloaded here), or use a program like WinISO and select the "optimize" option.
  13. I'm definitely not voting for Bush- wait, I can't vote. But still, I hope Bush doesn't win.
  14. Off hand, I don't think MSN automatically logs conversations, but if your parents really wanted to spy on your conversations, they would most likely install a keylogger. You can search google for "keylogger detector" to find out if one is installed. Like this one
  15. Can you post what your boot.ini file looks like? It's a hidden file in your C:\ drive...
  16. Wow. Just simply Wow. After using Apache, I'll never go back to IIS. It took me a fraction of the time to get stuff up and running, and I hit no bumps in the road at all. Amazing. Thanks for the recommendation, AaronXP! I now have Invision and other forum software installed, ready to be tweaked.
  17. Great, thanks for the reply. I'm going to try to install PHP and MySQL and stuff so I can test out the latest IPB when it's released
  18. I've had nothing but problems trying to get PHP to work with IIS 6 on Server 2003. None of those guides helped, either. AaronXP, how easy is it to use Apache?
  19. According to my calculations, 8000 IP addresses at their longest length (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) and assuming duplicates were omitted, would only take about 120 kilobytes of disk space. 20 megabytes would be over 1.2 million page views.
  20. I thought you meant the moderators deleted the details, sorry for the misunderstanding.
  21. I love that wallpaper, TonicX. In fact the whole theme looks great. I really have a soft spot for Watercolor-type themes.
  22. If you don't have $60,000 to burn, you may want to consider a Mach L 3.8 Personal SuperComputer which is considerably cheaper. My specs: Pentium 4 1.7GHz 768 RDRAM 64 meg Geforce4 MX440 55 GB HD 19 inch flat screen (not flat panel) 8x +/- Plextor 708A DVD Burner Other integrated crap Not the greatest, but it gets me through the day.
  23. Yes, yes it is overkill. What the hell are you running, the Matrix itself? An Earth simulator? I'm not saying its a bad system, its just that for most people power like that would go to waste. But if you have enough money to burn on that, I guess you're not most people. Wow, I just customized one around your specs, look at the price.
