  5. Older versions of nero use to have a problem like this with this drive. Updating nero sorted it. Could try updating firmware.
  6. If you have nVidia - xFire has been known to cause some unrecoverable directx errors. If you have it installed try disabling it.
  7. Make sure that you have the latest drivers for your graphics card, sound card and motherboard (although sometimes downgrading graphics drivers might also help). Make sure all unnecessary background tasks have been closed. Try setting the hardware acceleration for your sound card to Basic acceleration. Try downloading DirectX from the Microsoft site and reinstalling it.
