  1. A. You forgot the Ident files that let's Setup find the CD. B. You forgot the edit the SetupSourcePath in TXTSETUP.SIF Those are the most likely causes.
  2. for those wondering.... He's refering to the Enterise Deployment Pack here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsme...deploypack.aspx There is a WMP10 download on the Unattended site that's completely silent. All it is, is the original WMP10 downloaded wrapped in a IEXPRESS packed executing the silent command call. You could do the same for your language (the one on site is English)
  3. VMware supports 64bit as a HOST os. No VM that i'm aware of supports a 64bit GUEST os yet.
  4. NO CRACK DISCUSSION ALLOWED. That beig said, i'll take the benefit of the doubt and say you weren't asking for help... The XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX Is simply to represent a PLACEHOLDER for your actual CDKEY fold on the little yelllow/goldish sticker or the OEM sticker on your CPU. If you enter your's in place of thsoe X's, SETUP will use your CDKEY IF IT'S VALID! Think of the XXXXX's like a password box masks a password with *'s. It's simply protecting the CDKEY so people can't steal it.
  5. ahem... http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=Se...=Windows+Update search words:
  6. ::must resist urge...to...flame...:: I'll answer you if nothing other then my own annoyance, and to put that annoyance to end. I have NO IDEA how many times i have repeated this very same answer...ALL of which you would find if you ONLY SEARCHED!! 1. If you downloaded the kernel, ensure it's the proper version (i.e. if using SP2, then make sure it's a SP2 kernel) 2. If you downloaded the kernel, ensure you're using the proper TYPE of kernel. There are two, one is a multiprocessor kernel (or used with P4 HT) and a single processor kernel. If the wrong one is used, the system will NOT boot. In the end, when the system is fully setup NORMALLY, it's ALWAYS called ntoskrnl.exe 3. Compressing ntoskrnl.exe and directly replacing only replaces ONE instance of the kernel file. Again using the WRONG file will cause errors. The file is also found in the CAB files as well. http://unattended.msfn.org/advanced/cosmetics/bootscreen.htm
  7. Ahem. You have? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's alot of work getting you to work on it...
  8. i'm betting the screen you're talking about, is perhaps the screen telling you the system is shutting down. You do only have a 1 second delay. I recommend a 60+ delay, so that the desktop fully loads and doesn't cause potential problems later on.
  9. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=47226 Thank you for searching.
  10. You still haven't told me what you want, and as i said in a previous post in this very thread, if you reference a topic, please link to it so i can read it as well. Define merits, tell me EXACTLY what you want. If you don't nothing will be changed in this matter.
  11. My only response to that, is why wouldn't you search first? You don't even need to use the Forum Search function, there's a Google Box at the top of the page...
  12. HKU\[Random Hive Name] = HKCU the "[Random Hive Name]" is the SID of the account.
  13. Enough of this.... http://unattended.msfn.org READ IT! Problem solved. Also next time, use FULL english grammer and words. Not everyone here is fluent in english, and some use automatic translators. God help anyone trying to translate "i n33d h31p! plz s1! any1?" Do you ahve any idea the mess you'll get from a translator?

  15. That's basically what it is. It's a duplication at first, however, once everything is in, there will be NO sticky. The problem with the massive registry tweak file is that it's so large and the comments are intermingled with the actual tweaks. The DB will list all tweaks based on the title given, and allow for selection and compile them in a custom registry file. Concerning the merits...you mean this? http://unattended.msfn.org/beginner/hotfix/intro.htm
  16. I'll assume you're using the SP1 kernel, as the SP2 version and up doesn't contain that moniker in the file at all. The SP2 version and up should only display "Windows XP". Now back to SP1... In the "Make" dialogue, under the ID number that corresponds with the IMAGE you're referring to (i believe it's 11), put NO in the box on the left instead of YES. That should fix it. The other option is after compiling the final EXE file, open it up in a resource editor, and delete the resource (again image 11) and save it. Don't forget to modifype the file either way you go before you test it on the CD.
  17. i was just throwing some ideas aroud in my head, incase i needed to change things for the PHP to do it's thing...
  18. question.... should the main content of the site be in a frame or no frame? just curious.

  20. That's what i do, to an effect. I have the files uncompressed on the disc and copy the entire folder over. That way i don't have to recreate the SFX file everytime with the new reference files or when a new AdAware comes about. I do somethign similar for SpyBot.
  21. Man....you're kinda slow aren't ya? http://www.doom9.org is a good site for news related to this realm of software (I'm speaking of course to LEGAL BACKUP COPIES as well as using your rights provided to you [atleast in America] of the Sony vs MGM case [the VCR case]) I believe they also host the latest version of DVD Decrypter at 3.5.4.0
  22. hmmm.... sure the update didn't fix it? hmmm.... The file associations are being set in HKCR for the current user, and HKLM\Classes for the system. I'll double check both in a moment.... A snapshot of the registry would be helpful, HIVE format preferably (Save As, and type as Hive)
