  1. @matthewk OEMPreInstall=YES must be set in WINNT.SIF for the $OEM$ folders to work. This is also assuming you have the $OEM$ folder in the proper place and that when creating the ISO it's name isn't being changed.
  2. you're using an outdated version of the MSI
  3. It's completely documented on Microsoft's site, however it is VERY difficult to get it work, and most people just go the route of editing txtsetup.sif like documented on the Unattended Website.
  4. the file names themselves are irrelavant and can be anything you want them to be called. What's INSIDE those files is what determines whether it's RunOnce, RunOnce\Setup, RunOnceEX... RunOnce would be an invisible call to run all the windows (sorta like Windows does when starting up and starts other applications) RunOnce\Setup is closest to RunOnceEX but that you can't change the Title, and runs IMMEDIATELY after they keys are imported into the registry. RunOnceEX creates a window that lists all the program, can cahnge the title, and only executes after a restart or a call to the iernonce.dll process. RunOnceEX is documented on the Unattended guide as it's the most used and there's a nifty little picture showing it in action as well.

  6. clicking the SAVE button in the Display Properties is harder then manually changing the text within the file itself? the save button saves all the paths correctly and such. Why would i change it to the template form and have people write in their own paths? There are images in almost every page and it is almost as simple as it can be made. Any examples of where it's not? Simply saying it's not simple just tells me that nothing is wrong since you don't provide any example.

  8. Alright, here's the plan.... Download the the FORM.TXT file , and fill it out as the BODY of your eMail. FORM.TXT, READ THE EULA THAT IS ATTACHED!! EULA.TXT Below that, indicate that you agree to the EULA. Then ATTACH the EULA to the eMail. I don't want it in the BODY, ATTACH IT! For SCREENNAME in the form, be sure to include your MSFN screenname. ANY FAKE SCREENNAMES AND FIRST AND LAST NAMES will INVALIDATE the form and will be promptly DELETED! This program is being distributed AS IS with no guarantee or warranty of ANY kind. If you wish to purchase the FULL version then please eMail a request to that, and it will be forwarded to the author. I DO NOT GUARANTEE ANY SUPPORT FOR XPCREATE AND ANY EMAIL ASKING FOR IT WILL BE DELETED! Send requests to: alanollx@gmail.com
  9. By news groups, do you mean these forums? or do you mean the actually NNTP newsgroups? I'm just curious. As for the legitamacy, if the program wasn't legitamate why would I be opening up downloads in about one hour? The eMail you've been sending to, is not being sold or distributated in any means. If nothing else, it might have been deleted by age by now. Before GM went AFK, he was attemting to setup a automated response system and such to send back information, but he never got the time to finish it. The simple fact of the matter that you would think that MSFN would condone a program with malicious intentions to be allowed to be distributed from (was originally) and still have a place on these forums shows that you don't have the slightest courtesy to GM or these forums. Common Courtesy indicates time. Legitimacy is indicated by action. I am about to take that action, if nothing else then to save a friend's reputation that you people have tarnished because he hasn't had time to come to this board. If after i have taken the action to bring XPCREATE to you yall and you still behave in this manor and disrespecting GM, i will be forced to take action. I have allowed this to continue simply because no action has been taken, but action is about to be taken, and so i remind you of the forum rules EDIT: 14 minutes till i think i'm ready. May take a few hours for you to get a reply though (sleep and such)
  10. No disrespect taken at all. The boot disks make things easier, however you must make sure you get the proper OS version and such. Creating the ~BT folder just goes with the flow of it so you don't mix them up and such. Both ways work jsut the same.
  11. I go ahead with my plan...and I was going to wait till the end of Friday which is currently 10am
  12. Three things: 1. AutoCAD is a very expensive program and used for VERY special purposes so it isn't that common to install. Do you even know what kind of installer it uses? Screenshot perhaps of one of the screens... 2. DON'T BUMP YOUR THREAD AFTER ONLY 4 HOURS!!! 3. The REPORT button on the bottom of the post is meant to notify moderators of FORUM RULES VIOLATIONS, not that you want attention to your topic.
  13. Near Identical. Only difference is there is a new ident file in the root of the CD. Consider each version as seperate OS. If it's easier for you to think as such, just think one is XP and one is Win2k. The DIFFERENCE between the two, will be the BOOT folder name, and the path that TXTSETUP.SIF references (the guide lists it) AutoPatcher is bloatware. I don't like it, but that doesn't mean you can't use it There are switches for AutoPatcher for Unattended options. http://unattended.msfn.org will help you in that respect, though does NOT specifically tell you how to get AutoPatcher to work. Since you've followed the MultiBoot guide, the Unattended guide isn't all that more difficult. Feel free to IM me at Alanollz on AIM, though I make no promises that any help I provide may be want you are looking for. I tend to help people once they've atleast done some of the work they're trying to do (so right now, I'd help you with the Multiboot aspect, but won't help with the Unattended till you attempt it first )
  14. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Hummingbird\Connectivity\9.00\Exceed] followed by either, Example 1 - REG_SZ "UserDir"="\\\\SRVATD2\\HOME\\%APPDATA%\\Hummingbird\\Connectivity\\9.00\\Exceed\\" or, Example 2 - REG_EXPAND_SZ "UserDir"=hex(2):5c,5c,53,52,56,41,54,44,32,5c,48,4f,4d,45,5c,25,41,50,50,44,\ 41,54,41,25,5c,48,75,6d,6d,69,6e,67,62,69,72,64,5c,43,6f,6e,6e,65,63,74,69,\ 76,69,74,79,5c,39,2e,30,30,5c,45,78,63,65,65,64,5c,00 The problem comes from the way the page is rednered in the browser as well is it's saved in the forum database. You should ask the guys at IPB about this, as we just use their software. We dont' fix it.

  16. do you have ANY clue what you're doing? because where I'm sitting, you made absolutely no sense. Simply extracting the WMP setup executable into the XP folder will do absolutely nothing but update a few files and cause ALOT of errors down the road. If you're executing the WMP executable, then SWITCHes are what you need. Why would you ask in a thread about the slipstreamer, and not use it? Why didn't you search? WMP or WMP10 would have brought up SOMETHING. Topics Merged
  17. Update! GM emailed me back and said wait till Friday.
  18. http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html#before Favortie website for occasions such as these...
  19. First, please allow me to comment on the lack of searching you did. I have no idea how many times I've answered this question but... Sorry for the public service announcement, but I've had to save it so I don't have to type something new everytime.
  20. man, good to know people read before asking questions.
  21. Last I saw, it was an issue with how Opera rendered the page. Best I can do is TRY and make the rest of the site standards compliant, but i doubt that will make a difference. You may want to bring this issue up in the Opera forums and see what they can recommend. As I don't have Opera, i can't test it during development.
