  1. I hope you aren't being ~snippy~, Alanoll: that is NOT what I expect from the users of this forum. But since you seem to be so adept at searches, how about pointing me in the right direction to remove the "HOME EDITION" window/box that appears in the middle of the image of the bootscreen that I finally was able to install? (That text does not appear in Preview Mode.)
  2. Lost Soul: Most of what you posted "is Greek to me". I did not try to hack the bootscreen; I *did* put it in the i386... Dahi: Much coolness with the link! Lots of good stuff there: I shall have to get the tea on and have a good long look at it all. Thanks to both of you for the info.
  3. I've tried : * booter v3.2 * Styleit XP * Bootskin * Boot Editor * LogonUI NOTHING. Big fat ZERO. Suggestions?
  4. "What kind of bootscreens?" Ummmm... I don't understand the question: isn't a bootscreen a bootscreen, same as any other bootscreen?....? The programs I used: * some bootscreens have self-installers * booter v3.2 * Syleit XP * Bootskin * Boot Editor * LogonUI
  5. All this started happening after I tried to install some new bootscreens... When I use the option to show the 3-button Shutdown, the "Restart" button does not work. The "Shutdown Button" appears to close Windows -- my desktop clears out -- but then *nothing* happens: ctrl/alt/delete does not work, nor does pressing my power button on my pc. I have to turn off the power supply on my outlette strip. After I go thru all that, when I turn on my PC again, I get a LogoZip extractor that keeps trying to load new bootscreens, but it keeps giving me an error message. I've done a search on my pc, and cannot find where that little bugger is. HP "help" had me jumping thru hoops: at one point, all my drivers disappeared! (When I use the log-off screen that has the drop-down menu, everything is okay.) Any suggestions?
