Hi just wondering if anyone knows of a link to a thread to show me how to add a sound driver for my laptop into the driverpack sound cos the one that was in there didn't work and i was getting the portcls error but using another post here telling me to unzip driverpack sound and replace a folder with the latest realtek driver got around the error and it let me continue to install windows.But then windows identified my sound card as a c-media card with an exclamantion mark on it.I,ve downloaded the proper driver from toshiba's site and its a soundmax driver.So now i want to add this driver to my unattened cd but havn,t a clue how to do so.Any help would be great. Thank you

hey mate good find but didnt work for me , it got rid of the bsod all right and let windows continue to install but didnt install the right driver. showed up a cmedia driver with a yellow exclamation mark on it.I downloaded the right driver from toshiba's web site and all is fine by the way im using a toshiba tecra m1 reported as a soundmax driver. maybe bashrat will see this and add the driver to his driver pack. I used method 2 and choose to keep the drivers. Thanks again at least i got past the bsod and was able to install windows..

Sounds cool man but i havn't figured out the first part yet though any ideas or even a link in the right direction as to have only the driver packs on a cd that windows will search and install the right driver would be mighty handy when a friend has a machine with a missing or unknown driver and having to reinstall the whole machine with my xp disk..... Hi all i finally got around to adding wpi install to my unattened xp disk and everyhting goes fine until it starts to install the apps and then it tell me it cannot find the files or apps. Yet after windows is finished installing i can go to my d:\ drive click on the wpi folder and click on the wpi.hta file and wpi will run and load all the apps i select just cant get it to do it while im installing windows this is my runonce file if anyone can help me out please cmdow @ /HID @ECHO OFF for %%i in (C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z) do if exist %%i:\WIN51 set CDROM=%%i: SET KEY=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx REG ADD %KEY%\001 /V 1 /D "%CDROM%\WPI\WPI.hta" /f EXIT

Hi all hope u can help me out i has an unattened xp cd and decided i would try slipstreaming in the driver packs.All went well and i made the cd computer comes up press any key to boot from cd which i do and then it goes throught loading windows setup but just before it gets to the part that you have to format the hard drive it comes up with an error 'the file aliide.sys could not bet found' press any key to continue after which it tells me that setup has failed. Is there a way to correct this without having to remake the cd i dont mind having to delete or add a couple of files and remake the iso and reburn it.. By the way i used bashrat the sneakys drivers and i used method 1. I am test the cd on an asus p4 laptop thanks all..

thanks for that i came accross that one before,doesnt excatly fit what im looking for though bashrath has done a great job collecting drivers and has them all in nice driver packs.What i want to do is leave my unattended dvd the way it is now, and just put his driverpacks onto a cd just them nothing else and have windows search the cd when i need to install a driver. Is this possible ?

jez ive spent weeks on this forum while making my unattended cd's and dvd's but i cant find a thread on this You got any links handy please

hey just wondering if it is possible to make a data cd with all the driver packs and inf files on it and nothing else so when windows is finished installing i can put in my data disk and xp will search it for drivers....Just wondering Thanks

hey all used the driver packs and got them working great job,however i installed my unattended dvd on a dell inspirion 8200 and during install it was looking for files for the ati mobilty card i directed it to the path but the files were not the so i continued skipping 3 of them i think it was {should have wrote them down}well the display went black.I had to restart in safe mode remove the video driver and download one from dells website to get it working ok. Any ideas how i can put my one into the unattended disk.. Or why there were missing files thanks all

thanks all for your help i got it working the oem preinstall was set to no in the sif file i changed the value to yes and all is working great now thanks again

I have tried placing the $oem$ folder beside the i386 folder but when the runonce starts after xp is setup it tells me it cannot find c:\install\applications so it seems to me that the install folder is not getting copied over..any ideas why thanks again

hey all i made my unattended xp sp2 install disk with all my apps no probs working great.But now i would like to use ris to deploy it for me.I installed ris on the server and copied the contents of the dvd to the share folder and tried to setup a client pc.All went well and it installed fine except it didnt install any of the apps like it does when im using the cd and it didnt fill in the product key. Do i have to place the $oem$ folder inside the i386 folder or beside it to get it to load using ris.And also do i leave my answer file named winnt.sif in the i386 folder. hi again second post just converted to the runonceex method and finally got it to work with your help "thanks" now i am having a little problem with adding a user.It worked with my batch file because i only had a cmdlines.txt with a reference to useraccount.cmd but with runonce i had to add another line to it so i made it like this [COMMANDS] "RunOnceEx.cmd" [COMMANDS] "user.cmd" and then saved it as cmdlines.txt in my $oem$ folder but its not adding a user any help thanks
