  1. TaskBarXP directly effects the active toolbars and their placements on the Taskbar. TaskbarGlooming i believe is combining multiple app windows into one(multiple IE boxes for example) TaskbarSizeMove i believe is to unlock the taskbar so you can move it.
  2. there are i believe 4 SIDs that will never change among systems. However, the User Specific SID of a User Created User should always change. If it didn't, then since the SID is one of the primary ways to generate the EFS key, it would be easy for anyone to generate that key and completely defeat the purpose of the encryption. Also... @duhu Thanks for NOT using CODE tags, and thanks for NOT attaching such a large file. Did you possibly consider that it would just plain be nicer for people to NOT have to scroll down endless lines of text? Did you think that maybe using CODE tags would help to distinguish your code/registry tweaks from your actual message and bring focus to what you were actually trying to ask?
  3. wait a minute.... you're comparing IE to a "browser" that USES IE's engine to render it's stuff?
  4. utterly pointless post in regards to this thread... I believe Beta1 was primarily aimed at SECURITY and that enhancements to CSS and HTML amonst others will be made for Beta2.
  5. Good question. A better place to ask would be the IPB forums, as they make the software.
  6. well crud...guess I'll need to make a new one
  7. you missed what he did with his UXtheme.dll which makes YOUR method obsolete. Now assuming you're not installing a hotfix that overwrites the UXtheme.dll file, i would suggest... http://unattended.msfn.org/advanced/hackedfiles/uxtheme.htm Now as far as helping you, we can't do ANYTHING except suggest things that might go wrong. From what you've said, i could assume any number of thigns ranging from invalid UXtheme.dll to a typo in the .theme file. Without YOU showing us (attaching the .theme and perhaps even the .msstyle) we can't accurately tell you what's wrong.
  8. http://www.msfn.org/staff/Alanoll/xpcreate/xpc.htm For all those who want it...have at it. GM told me a few weeks ago that he was planning on just putting the link on his website anyway.
  9. Allow me to be as sarcastic as possible... how are we even supposed to TRY and help you if you don't even tell us HOW it's not working, WHAT you've tried, and WHAT errors you've recieved? why does the filename you're pointing to say 5.0.8? Now let me reemphasize my earlier statements, if this is something that's a SYNTAX issue with you using WPI, I WILL NOT HELP YOU! It's the same with RunOnceEX,XPlode,WIHU and the rest. If you're not trying it in batch first to make sure it works, then i won't help you.
  10. congratulations...you completely defeated the point of this thread by saying you used the PRE-SP1 version of teh setupldr.bin. We've already assertained that that works, however it does NOT work for an x64 platform
  11. I'm at about....4.2 GB on my personal disc. Takes just about 1.25 hours to fully complete. Nothing remove via nLite, everything by hand (small thigns like Messenger and such) so it's still a so called "bloated" windows, though i minimize the footprint in other ways withotu risking loosing functionality. I install Office 2003, Photoshop CS2, Illustrator CS2, Acrobat Pro 7.0, Dreamweaver MX 2004, Firefox MX 2004 amongst others. I use my disc like i would an image. When my computer gets too unstanble from all the tampering i do to it, i just start from a "restore point".
  12. AGAIN, i ask WHY DO PEOPLE FEEL THE NEED TO POST NOTIFYING OF A WINAMP UPDATE?! Any Winamp user who actually knows what they're doing probably checks the site every once in a while, and even if they don't it will be on the frontpageof MSFN shortly anyway.
  13. I believe the TRUE question is why is this in the APPLICATION SWITCHES forum?
  14. wait....so you mean to tell me you have ALL the neccesary IDENT files from the original disc? I'm referring to ALL the files starting with WIN51. These should be copied to the root of your multiboot disc.
  15. WinPE works more like a starting setup from within windows type mode. This unfortunately means x64 won't work as setup MUST be started from boot.
  16. not entirely sure of your REGEDIT problem off the top of my head... However, Windows 2000 does NOT have teh REG.EXE command bundled with it. You'll have to download it yourself and either ahve it copy over before calling it, or use paths to the REG command itself. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=At...pe=post&id=4316
  17. Point taken. Perhaps i should define my usage of "idiots". I mean it as a term to describe people who don't want to help themselves and want everything done for them. I didn't mean it in the sense that they were not intelligent or that sort of thing. I'm not going to name names, but oh says like someone asking the forum members to write a complete script for them without even starting it on their own. I see these "idiots" as i call everywhere on the forum, so NO it's not just an nLite problem.
  18. You should make a disclosure agreement that part of joining the forums , stating that 1. You should read the guide and 2.know the starter portion up to the WINNT.srf and testing of the guide by memory, and 2. If posible dl the pdf. i think its fair. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> that will get a resounding NO from almost all forum members. MSFN is not just about Unattended Installation, nor anything else in particular. However, new members are supposed to recieve a PM upon joining telling them to read the rules amonst other things.
  19. I honestly have no problem with creating new forums It's just a simple thing to do. Getting it started i'd leave up to nuhi and the rest of the nLite community. (so yeah, wrong reason ) As for more work on my and nuhi's part, I'd only for see more work in reality for nuhi. I just enforce the rules, i don't create the program. I was not saying there was anything wrong with guides, in fact I'm in the process of updating the Unattended guide, and allowing user submitted pages to allowed on the site as well (keeps them from getting lost in the forum). I was just saying, out of shere volume, it will seem as if they're never read. I know they are, and i know how often the Unattended guide is opened, however...if you were to read through the forum you will get the impression that people don't. Perhaps I misstated it earlier, but at times, you will get the feeling no one reads it because someone will ask a question that was clearly answered on the Unattedned site (F6 for drivers anyone?). But then again, there are two reasons for a forum, discussion and support. So of course whenever people haven't read the guide is when they'll post. It's sort of a vicious cycle. @bonedaddy I didn't say it wouldnt help I just said people won't read it. Or atleast you'll get the impression they don't read it.
  20. i was speaking purely for myself and only myself. I just find it annoying. And no, it's not all of the nLite users, or the majority of them even. If i was speaking for MSFN, i would not use the term "idiots". And nuhi has mentioned to me about the guide before, but take it from my personal experience, guides and FAQs does not mean people will read them.
  21. Just so everyone is clear where i stand on nLite, i have no problem with the program itself, but some of the users using it without knowing what they're doing and then demanding help without helping themselves.
  22. Did the cavemen use the wheel successfully? or did they keep tipping the container every few steps and complain that it's the wheel's fault? Perhaps i should point out, i'm not saying that ALL of nLite's users are idiots, but that a program of it's nature brings them regardless. But like i said before, i have NO problem with the program it self other then it does more then the name implies. I've used itmyself at times when i was in a rush and such. But I know what's happening behind the scenes so if something DOES screw up, i know where to look to fix it. Even if i didn't know the specifics, I atleast do some testing to narrow down the cause of it, rther then just saying "nLite screwed up. Now fix it!"
  23. that's entirely dependant on which version of the pack you downloaded.
