2003 DNS Server
All versions of Windows Server 2003 have DNS server. Purchase your Server produce from a reputable source, such as Dell. You can get standard Server with only 5 cals for cheaper. Enterprise is meant for big business so why would they sell it with less than 25? I am not sure about cost... I believe that AD in 2k3 is a little faster, but I don't know for sure.

Windows 2k/2k3 RIS Servers
In response a PM asking how to connect to the RIS server: To connect the client to the server you simply enable Network Boot (also known as BOOTP or PXE BOOT) and press the corresponding key during boot (right after POST). On most newer PCs this is the F12 key, on some older PCs it's the N key. It should prompt you to press the key. Good luck! Let me know if this helps!

when you speak of an "NT Network" it is assumed you are speaking of a domain, because workgroups are not OS specific.

Windows XP Sources
Windows XP Home CAN NOT log into an NT network (without some kind of 3rd party addon) Windows XP Pro allows you access to MMC consoles, which are administrative tools. Pro also allows 10 simotanious connections where as XP Home only 5. XP Pro also offers extended security between users on the same PC. Also, offers multi-processor support, where as Home does not. There are also a LOT of utilities that are not found in Windows XP Home.

Reboot during batch
Believe me... those spawned from 5 files I used to use... I got tired of having 5 files, so I combined them This simply places a "placeholder" in the registry at the end of each step and reboots the PC. The next time the file is run it pulls that placeholder from the registry and jumps to that step.

Creating Windows XP Installation Disc
The recovery CD probably doesn't use a Windows unattended installation method. It probably uses a 3rd party utility. You could always call the customer service department and request an OEM CD. Microsoft licensing requires them to provide you with it.

Reboot during batch
It really isn't as complicated as you might think. Just map out the GOTOs and you will find it's easy.
