Hi I want to COMPLETELY redesign the classic/domain logon screen in windows XP. I do not just want to change the images as has been described previously. Does anyone have any idea where to start with this? I have seen this done once before so I know it must be possible. Thanks for any advice, Ol

Thanks for your response, but I want to physically remove the box from the logon screen. A lot of our users are not very computer orientated and I get lots of calls from users saying that they cannot logon - 99% of the time they are trying to logon locally with their domain account! See my problem? Ol

Hi Is it possible to remove the option to logon to the local machine from the logon screen? IE, all logons must be to the domain and if the DC is not available then that's tough luck. Furthermore, can I specify this in my answer file/reg updates? TIA Oli

HI I am successfully installing WinXP using RIS. It automatically rejoins itself to the domain and everything, ready to use. However, I want to take it one step further and install a few bits of software. I have written the batch file (build1.cmd) and have put it in the OEM folders etc etc etc. The files are being copied to the Hard Disk OK. However, in order for it to run I believe it needs an administrative logon. How can I script an adminitrative logon on first bootup only? This surely will let my script run and then reboot ready for the users? TIA Oli

So should i execute that command in install.cmd? This is the cmd file installing the first lot of software on first boot. TIA

Hi Being fussy like I am - what i want to occur is for the recycle bin icon to remain in the bottom right and for all other desktop icons to be arranged by last modification. in the final CMD file running to install software and regtweaks I execute..... Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 ;Sort Desktop [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags\1\Desktop] "FFlags"=dword:00000224 "Sort"=dword:00000003 Then the system reboots. This seems to have no effect on my icons!!! Can anyone help?? TIA Oli

Hi Firstly, I know some of this has been asked before but I cant see the best way to achieve it. If anyone can help then its greatly appreciated: 1. How do i remove the language bar from the taskbar? I dont want it on the desktop either. 2. Desktop Icons... after all my software has installed ive run my cleanup batch file to delete the icons I dont want - how do i specifiy the order of the rest of them? TIA Oli

I have successfully made an automated install of windows and lots of small applications all on one CD. Altho many of our machines have a DVD drive - not all do - and so it MUST fit on a CD and so I cannot include Office. However, is there any reasons why i cant do.... ECHO. The ----------------- doesnt exist in the actual file - put it there as an indicator of where the file was breaking. Any ideas? TIA Oli

Hi OK, having done 23 installs so far, the "cleanup" batch file always kills itself just before it finishes. Here is my code: ECHO. I want to add icons for the following objects to my desktop: My Computer My Documents Internet Explorer Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel Microsoft Publisher And remove the icons that have been created for Nero and Adobe.
