We can't get Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1.
submix8c replied to blackwingcat's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
May/may-not help... http://thehotfixshare.net/board/index.php? Oh, goody! "HotFix By Request"... This appears to be a massive effort. Good luck! All I have is all of the English from WUD.ULZ and AutoPatcher (and I see NO "By Request" since usually sent in an email). Hmmm... found this - has some QFE's. edit - above search for RollUp gave a sub-directory in first hit. more more more FWIW... more couple of note: not cross-checking - just searching... -
Interestingly, the said forum indicates the OS is Win95 OSR2 - you could probably find that "somewhere" as well as any "missing" drivers.
-
I guess you didn't notice the DATE of the ULZ - the FRA version is SEVERELY outdated! Product / Service Pack Level / Updated English: Windows XP Service Pack 2 x86 2008-04-08 Windows XP Service Pack 3 x86 2012-07-10 French: Windows XP Service Pack 2 x86 2008-04-08 Windows XP Service Pack 3 x86 2010-03-11 I don't know if this would help or not... The "xxx.ULZ is simply a "xxx.ZIP" that has been renamed. The Contents of the ZIP/ULZ is a "xxx.UL" which is simply a TEXT file (actually an XML file) that can be opened with Notepad. You could TRY: 1 - Rename the ULZ to ZIP 2 - Extract the UL and rename to TXT 3 - Open with Notepad and change all ENU to FRA and save 4 - Rename the TXT to UL and replace original inside the ZIP 5 - Rename the ZIP to ULZ 6 - Place ULZ in correct directory (see website for location) 7 - Run WUD Please note that the Descriptions, etc, will be in English AND the files may/may-not be downloaded (I have no clue). Also note that the list may/may-not be correct since the Language of downloads will be FRA and not ENU. HTH - and if you want to volunteer to create a Corrected FRA version for jcarle, he would probably appreciate the effort.

Hate to inform you, netwalker99, but this topic has nothing to do with an nLite problem. Reread the thread.

kb891861 intitle:index.of Got it... First one - don't use Download Manager - FireFox works fine. -
Again, they are WIM, e.g. "BOOT.WIM", etc. on the ISO Image. The can be manipulated by mainly MS pgms., eg DISM or IMAGEX. The can be viewed by OPENING them with eg 7-Zip. Again, WinVista/Win7 is NOT the same method as eg XP and musch more complex. The do not "install" per-se - they are kind-of "dumped" to the Partition. PowerIso will only allow extraction of a WIM to be "manipulated" and then "reloaded" to the ISO image. There is no "disassembly" of it - DUMP A xxxx.WIM and OPEN IT IN 7-ZIP - literally, a DISK IMAGE! Better do some light reading first.
-
Look around first... then come back when you have problems. Repeating is, well, repeating. BTW, Windows 7 uses WIM (Windows Image Format) files and not CABS or Folders/Files like XP. Most everything is inside them. Contents can be viewed with 7-Zip. Changing the contents is an entirely different (and more complex) process than the "old-fashioned" Compressed and CAB files.

ading custom boot screen to iso ? [help please]
submix8c replied to Breez's topic in LogonUI & Boot Screens
?This topic was in reference to Windows XP (bootcfg.exe was mentioned). Windows 7 uses WIM's - look inside them using 7-Zip. Different "beast"... -
Adobe Flash Add-on Creator - NOT NEEDED. USE NEW NLITE.

And this. Funny! Another post said the OP was Pakistani. Sir chakarbugti - at least have the decency to get a "real" pirated copy... -
Side note - unnecessary to enlarge text and/or bold enlarged text. Standard size is fine except to hilite a portion for clarity.

Hmmm... nope! The "basic" address should be the same (for English). Need a complete list of files? IESITES.DAT Contents (all languages "basic" addresses): File List: FYI -this one works - http://web.archive.org/web/20110301043559/http://download.microsoft.com/download/ie6sp1/finrel/6_sp1/W98NT42KMeXP/EN-US/ie6setup.exeFurthermore, a compare of RTM IE6SP1 EN vs TW (I had found an FTP site) yielded this: Therefore, the names of several may be different between languages as well as actual contents. Worse, using the German (DE) download address does NOT provide anything except IE6SETUP.EXE and (another EXE - didn't catch that name while "fiddling") , so the best bet for any given language is to search on the "language different" names, e.g. "scriptde.cab". -

Useless - the remaining software (links inside the downloads) is gone, AFAIK. You can, of course, try it. The reason "gone"? It's "supplied" in XP and support for Win9x/ME/2K (the only ones needing the "update") has long been dropped. Even the IEAK6 no longer works. I could provide maybe the direct links to the cabs/files but AFAICR, they result in "not found". IE6SITES.DAT points to the files. I have the last full set, correctly dated, of IE6SP1. Not sure if I would be allowed to upload "somewhere"... I do, however have a Website on my own PC - Private access, of course. -

Win XP past Apr 2014... (was: Will XP be supported until 2019?)
submix8c replied to steveothehighlander's topic in Windows XP
(sigh...) Chiming in... Look at this older descriptive. IOW, it's not a Desktop/Notebook OS. It follows that any of the "POS" Windows OS' are of the same ilk and targets certain types of business hardware, hence the "extended support" not applicable to XP as we know it. -
First, since searching on "logitech mouseware 9.77 yields a date of 2003, how in the heck did you install this on Windows 7? Did you Upgrade to Windows 7 from XP? (This is a detail you left out.)Second, if "many other installations" also don't appear, then your Registry must be really screwed up. Third (again), it's MS (MicroSoft) Fixit, and NOT "Mr. Fixit". Both softwares suggested ONLY work if it's found in the Registry, which apparently they are NOT! Fourth, you keep SAYING it's "installed" BUT can't be "found" to Uninstall, AND "When I try to install...cannot find driver..but present". AND you don't say WHAT "file" is there or not just a generic "driver" as an assertion. Last, WHERE did you get the "Driver"? Bear in mind that the "driver" is not JUST a "driver" but a complete SOFTWARE package! Found this indicating only used on up to XP. And every place I try to find it it ALWAYS directs me to Logitech page where it says it does NOT exist. Why are you trying to use such an OLD Package on Windows 7? Have you tried using this? Can you at least provide the file name(s) of the Install Packages you used so I can find it and inspect it? ---- DOH!!!! WOW (head beating against brick wall)! I found this. This implies Windows 7 as well. Your "installations" aren't worth the effort to discuss. Go to the links provided in the given link and manually uninstall said "drivers".Good luck and please don't ask how to "uninstall" again... Just follow the Logitech instructions.

1 - Gee that's funny that the Character String match in count between the screen shot and what I gave. Did you input it EXACTLY that way? Please respond or I can't help you anymore as you'll be wasting my/our time.2 - MSICUU2.EXE - Seems it indicates the Fix-It you used as well (deprecated). IOW, IS IT LISTED IN "ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS" AND/OR FixIt? IF SO, SELECT IT! Else, WHY do you claim it can't be "uninstalled"? DID YOU MANUALLY DELETE STUFF??? WHERE ARE YOU TRYING TO "UNINSTALL" - ADD/REMOVE or DEVICE-MANAGER??? BTW, the "link" is in Japanese - use Google Translate, enter the Link, and select "Japanese->English". Don't look like a paid site, but I could be wrong (using FireFox).

Let me get this straight - 1 - You have XP Pro OEM with Key (purchased) <-betting it's "generic" 2 - You have XP Home OEM that came with the PC <-undoubtedly OEM-Specific -OR- kind-of-"Royalty" (IOW, the COA Key would install but you have to activate -OR- The "Royalty" key is embedded inside WINNT.SIF(or maybe in some cases a SYSPREP setup in e.g. old Compaq). 3 - You have an XP Pro FPP "somewhere" that you did a compare against #1 above 4 - You "decided to install XP pro using one of a few keys I have" (plural - I don't want to ask) <--?OEM or FPP? 5 - You want a "generic" XP Pro OEM <--Why? You probably already have one Fine... an explanation (info on web anyway) for XP Pro -OR- XP Home (other minor diffs between Home/Pro) Basic File differences -Different between FPP and Any OEM- ACC_DIS.CH_ ACCESSIB.CH_ EULA.TXT IESUPP.CH_ IEWEBHLP.CH_ SUPP_ED.CH_ SETUPP.INI -Different ONLY from OEM-Specific (Generic-OEM and FPP are EXACTLY THE SAME)- OEMBIOS.BI_ OEMBIOS.CA_ OEMBIOS.DA_ OEMBIOS.SI_Keys will NOT (obviously) interchange between "Generic" OEM, FPP, or OEM-Specific ("Royalty"). If a COA Key is used with an OEM-Specific, it will fall back to "Generic" and need Activated, just like an FPP Install. The "Internal Key" can be used to Pre-Activate. DID YOU READ THE HINT THREADS? I honestly do NOT know what you're getting at. You will NOT get the "needed files" from here or be pointed to where to get them. As far as "benefits of FPP", I can only say - WHAT? Mainstream support has ended but Fixes will continue for nearly 2 more years so the point is moot whether FPP, OEM-Generic, or OEM-Specific (AFAIK vendors like HP and Dell no longer sell XP PC's). Please note that the fist several files (the .CH_) are JUST HELP FILES that say "contact your vendor" and the .INI distinguishes between OEM and "whatever". The .TXT similarly indicates FPP or OEM. The last four are what the OEM's use to mass-roll-out AS PREVIOUSLY EXPLAINED. Again... HINT THREADS!!! This has been repeated in various ways. You seem to be pushing for a "solution" to a "non-problem" (as you seem to have a Generic OEM CD and Key). Drop Point#5 and proceed with Points#1->#4.

You disregarded blackwingcat's suggestion. First, you used a "Microsoft FixIt" (that's NOT the Cleanup Utility) and we have no clue where you got it. Second, it clearly states "If not listed on previous page..." Was it listed and you selected it and it wasn't recognized? Product Code found here I doubt that will help as you haven't followed instruction. Good luck...

Much better clarification!

5 - An XP Pro "OEM-Specific" ("Royalty") doesn't exist "for sale" - only the "Generic" ("Mom and Pop") with a single key (as jaclaz stated above). "Royalty" (e.g. Dell, HP) AFAIK utilize the "generic", purchase n-Number of COA keys (with associated COA stickers), "modify" specific files (software and "how" is obviously classified and we don't know here), generally create a "Restore" partition with an Image for a specific Hardware using the Royalty Key, "roll" the Image out to that Hardware, and attach the COA Sticker to it. If you're lucky, you'll get a CD/DVD along with it (like the ones you have - one Restore, one Driver). If you have an FPP CD with key(s) I suggest you stick with that or else use the XP Home OEM DVD instead (already "prepped" for pre-activation undoubtedly). One might question why you want an OEM image based upon that. I hesitate to give any info on the possibility of "creating" an XP Pro OEM (generic or otherwise) as that's borderline illegal. Besides the fact that, as stated, a Generic still requires a single Legitimate "you have to activate" key (same as your FPP) and the Royalty requires the "special pre-activate" key, noting that Home/Pro OEM-Royalty/OEM-Generic/FPP keys are different in all cases. If you're that dead-set on it, you'll have to scrounge for what you need elsewhere. However, hints here and here. Interesting reading - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb457054.aspx http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb457078.aspx Just an FYI to (semi-)clarify. All other points answered. Proceed and make a new Topic for whatever legitimate hurdles you may encounter in the appropriate subforum. Note: Beware the "generic" OEM ones sold on the "open market" (as told by jaclaz) as they MAY have bad key AND be "fakes" (and are disappearing fast on e.g. Amazon, Newegg, etc.) - eBay and Craigslist may or may not be "safe".

In Firefox I use the Free SoThinks Video Downloader - downloads to FLV or SWF.

??? Are you referring to WinBuilder? It's not an "installable" item. Unpack, use it, test the result, when satisfied, delete it. Your alternative is to create a SECOND XP, boot to it, and copy the FIRST one, as specified. After booting to Extenal, one can RECLONE it back after redefining the partition(s) on the original. MBRFIX is a simple program and included in the WinBuilder Stable releases. You're only "screwed" because you want to clone a RUNNING XP. No biggie, just a little extra effort to boot to "something/anything else". Not sure if a LiveLinux would do any good (don't use them, but...). edit - for second XP you could maybe repartition using Gparted Live.
