  1. Well, I have an app to recommend which is bootable and will work 100% of the time usually... but I too am suspect that this is kinda fishy. How could you forget your UN & PW? LOL ... Even if you forgot one surely you know of another or like everyone else has suggested, use the admin acct.
  2. I believe you can also install RDP from the XP cd on the XP Home systems. I've had to do this on some 2000 servers and once installs it works fine. "To install from the CD, insert the disc into the target machine's CD-ROM drive, select Perform Additional Tasks, and then click Install Remote Desktop Connection."
  3. Thats a meta tag for redirection if I'm correct, the "CONTENT="0; tells it how many seconds to wait. In this case, obviously it should be instant I would think. Looks like its missing the first part of the URL IMO. Other sites work fine? What address are you trying to go to? Scanned for spyware?
  4. @ pcandpc - Have you connected to your router over the web, gone to "Status" and clicked the release/renew for your router itself so it will pull the public IP from your modem again?
  5. Static routes are the only way to do this that I know of.
  6. Indeed. I have the same router as you. You could also try setting a static IP on your system within he DHCP range of your router. This happens to me alot as well, sometimes I have to do a release/renew from the router itself. The address will be your gateway when doing an IPCONFIG, most likely 192.168.1.1
  7. I would highly recommend SolarWinds. We have a solarwinds dedicated server which monitors a myriad of different things across our network including all switch interfaces, all of our servers, up time, hd space, ram ect. It has so much to offer its hard to explain it all.
  8. Ohh... c'mon... didn't know work counted . I'll post mine tomorrow
  9. Has this always been the case? Is this happening for remote users as well or do you have any? Try adding your domain suffix to a machine connecting into the domain. Are you getting any errors on you domain controller?
  10. I've used MMS (Material Management System) which is primarily offered by a company called Agilisys. The system we have runs on an old school AS/400 server and is command line, but not VERY VERY command line, there are built in menus, they also offer a GUI version. This sysetm is very power if you get down and dirty and learn how to use it. It does everything you requested and far far more, but just like everything, costs money. I would highly recommend it however.
  11. I too would look at customizing ntbackup... I personally use Enterprise Veritas NetBackup for this, however this is by far not a free solution.
  12. Indeed... we realize you're a MSFN newb, but have some respect. If you're connecting with a switch this should be a none issue as long as you have admin rights on both machines and know what you're doing. Join the same workgroup/domain, share the folders, set a share name... connect to it. That simple.
  13. The paint God is amazing... hasnt he heard pf Photoshop? LOL ... the notepad and bush thing is weirdddd... total conspiracy.
  14. OMG... Scorched Earth... I remember wasting countless hours on that game!! Hah, I must fine a download of it and play it again, lol. But yes, nice lineup and a nice topic!
  15. Based on my experience, Locate32 is the fastest I've ever used. Take an index which is very fast, then search... and boom! Results!
  16. I haven't had any of the problems you mentioned but I'm having problems when clicking links which load external apps like Adobe or Word. Totally freezes the app..
  17. Thats just outrageous... How does he have a Quad already?? Lucky $#%^&
  18. I use WMP and Winamp both to do exactly what you've asked.
  19. Uhm, there are tons out there... WMP, Winamp, VLC....
