  1. Tried giving her user name full control to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office? Also C:\MSOCache if you cached the extra office data.
  2. Very nice pics... looks great! Sry about the RMA's..
  3. Alright IrfanView people.... I need some help. For some reason the user that is using this with her scanner is having periodic issues and im sick of supporting it!! Somehow it seems like monthly now, IrfanView will not allow her to change the desired file name and uses the old name which is still remembered from the last scan. I know there is some check box or something that says "remember" or "save from last time" ... can't remember exactly ... but when you uncheck this and move forward with the scan it automatically checks itself again and then saves as the old file name again and again. Any help or other programs would be greatly appriciated!! **EDIT: Figured out it was a rights issue with an .ini file in the directory.
  4. Excel is the best app in the office package IMO. I've delved deep into the functionality of it and it's quite powerful if you know what you're doing. In my last job I was in cost control, managing over 500k in retail inventory at a resort.... If it were not for the VLOOKUP command I would have been completly hosed. Pulling data from 4 systems to get an end result of 2 columns, item # and count #. But, if you really have no use for it, and just want to play around with it... I don't really think you'll like it that much! Getting paid to use excel is worlds better P.S. If you're a neat freak on your ocmputer with nameing conventions and such, you can loose days in excel.
  5. Congrats on getting your chip! But, I don't know about anyone else but I cant get the pics.
  6. I do not know how to "ping" the printer, but I can test the printer sending a "test page" without any problem... Im confused. If you can print a test page then you can print to your printer...
  7. Can you ping the printer? Can you get to the printer's online interface? has the hostname been configured on the network? Do you have the right driver?
  8. Could it be any kind of temp monitoring alarm going off after 15-30 mins of 3D gaming? Check to be sure there are no built in apps into your MB or vid card software that are kicking off. You could also have alrms for fan speeds. I'd check those things first.
  9. Bah! Well that sucks, I just now got around to remembering to download it and I can't lol.
  10. I can't access jcarle.com nor the direct links to download the apps!
  11. As realgujju said... install the printer as a network based IP or hostname printer and forgo the directory service issues. Also try Googlin' the error, there is tons of info out there about this issue.
  12. Zip ties work wonders too Just a pain in the a** whenever ya gotta pull more power for a new device lol.
  13. Heh... seriously though. Google is the rebel of the net in my opinion. I love everything about Google and couldn't go a day w/o it. Look at all the freeware they offer, and Google Earth, I mean c'mon... that is the coolest app ever. And I thought M$ Terraserver was sweet back in the day, psssssh. I loved how they didn't give up the search results either when summoned by the government.
  14. 4 GB does seem to be a tad to much lol... but who knows, you may want to load 2000 Datacenter Server and startup your own Google lol!
  15. This is true.... oh well. Beppe, check out this link. The guy's got a E6600 and is OC'in it like crazy and benchin it! I want one... I want one...
  16. Well, I'd need to sell my P5WD2-P And my P4 3.4. Doesn't look like I'd get much lol... maybe enough for a 975 board, mayyybe.
  17. I was thinking of doing just that, but I'm not sure where to sell it for the best price? eBay? Friends? Somewhere else? If I could just make back not even half I would go for a 975 board and the E6600.
  18. I like your setup, just wonder how long you'll have to wait to get the E6700! I can personally highly recommend the Zalman 9500, I have one myself and it keeps my P4 3.4 nice and cool even when OC'd and over volted. I've had it up to 4.3GHz and it never broke 50C at full load. From what I'm hearing you shouldn't have nay heat issues anyway. It is pretty big though... here is a pic of it when I was installing. another.... k, 1 more why not
  19. Hmmm.... at first I was thinking Ghost, Ghost... but for an incremental periodic constantly updated mirror Ghost will not work for you. I know Veritas make some great software for this, however I'm sure someone out there knows of a better shareware/freeware solution for your needs.
  20. I hear ya, I would most def burn it in for a month at least before attempting to OC. Thats just my preference. I sure wish I had waited another 10 months to build my computer!! May be investing in a new MB and a Conroe myself!
  21. I too would highly recommend AutoCAD, pretty much the best there is from what I've heard and seen. Or you could also try the good ol' Google freeware app Google Sketch Up. I use it mostly just to play around, for a serious builder I would most def go with AutoCAD lol. Google is going to take over the world!!!!!!!!!
