Honestly the Shims dont do too much in my experiences, unless your overclocking a fair amount. However the fans are much better tool. I have seen customers using 4 modules of 512 sticks in DualChan Mobos have continual rebooting and locking due to the fact that the memory nearly touches eachother with the metal shims...this creates a super hot zone and the memory con generaly not tolerate it. So if your going with 2gbs of memory consider a fan..however thats about the only time its truley nessary |Drew|

I use an app by the name of File scavenger. Its a great little app..but its not free. It can obtain data from nearly any type of situation...Ie format, no partiton or defunct volume. Get tool if ur a tech |Drew|

MAte thats not a bad temp on an AMD at all. If your concerned with the temp get yourself a nice zalman, vantec or thermaltake Heatsink and that will solve most all your issues. You also may want to increase the airflow in the case as awhole..getting a front and back fan could help abit aswell |Drew|

Xbox IMHO And heres why: Xbox is the most versitile system out there! 1.I run Linux on mine! 2.Xbox Media center, in which i can use the console as a full out media rig for my home entertainment system. 3.Emulators! I play all my fav classics on NES, SNES, Sega, gamebot, GBA, Sega Cd, Neo Geo and even PSX many more 4.Running games from HDD is super fast! 5.Huge amount of mods available! 6.Support for your mods are available and extensive! |Drew|

I have pretty much alwaysed used power dvd....I have tryed other but the simple interface of powerdvd has always gotten the job done for me.. However the new version is super buggy..i still use 4 |Drew|

I havent really messed with Opera...but i really love Firefox! Great software...tabed browsing, popup blocker and pretty fast. However it still has a while to go to be as compatable as IE |Drew|

NAV is a great client. However i use Trendmicros dos scanner at work so all i have to do is drop the exe and the defintion files and execute it. NO install just point and click...its really nice if your a computer tech for a living. |Drew|

You can also use a compression tool like winrar with the SFX exe auto extractor. Thant can save toy abit of space |Drew|

Get a ftp client like BulletProof FTP and set it your router to foward te particular port you decide on using. Then just give people your wan ip(the fist you gave out) and it should be routed directly to the rig with the Ftp app. |Drew|

Make sure to unhide hidden files, if its still empy, just run a del cmd at the end of your batch commad within the unattended. |Drew|

You could just boot from your Xp pro cd and create a partition. Then USe your Disk managment and format it in ntfs within windows. Or if you prefer Partition Magic 8. |Drew|
