jcarle I do agree with many of your points of argument..i do not agree with your harsh words towards some of the community. Everyone is entitled to his or her own opion. Argument is acceptable but flaming is not. In my experince from working at a computer store, the Sata drives dont offer a huge spped differnce or any for that matter interms or mb/s but it does utilize less cpu as well as it seems to load large huge amount of folders and files, within explorer...so im guessing the burst might be abit ore consistant. But the reason why i selected the SATA is that currently there is very little difference in price for the drives. In some cases they are the same or even cheaper then the PATA. I made the switch to a WD 160SATA when my 120 died Nothing massive but i think it was a wise chose |Drew|

I would Uninstall delete all entries of Doom out of reg, and then proceed to reinstall. In regards tot eh drivers, unstall them within Safe mode and then install the most recent versions. However i have noticed some inconsistancies in your hardware and some possiable casue for concern. Number one the a series of cpu did not have 1 meg of cache. and the 9600se is aseverly downclocked version of the 9600 standard....which may or maynot play Doom3 alll that well...possibly barly above tolerabe |Drew|

I have been in tech and sales for many years so i have man =y great stories in my book...but one that comes to mind that was recent: A guy called in with complates of random rebooting and system beep errors. He had purchsed some things from us in the past so i told him to bring the system and i could have a quick look at it, even though we were very busy. SO he drops it by i plug it in and power it up...while it started up the phone rang and i answered it...meanwhile i was looking over some other rigs, doing virus scans adware etc....i look over at the costomer that had just droped his computer by and hes face looked all confused....the guy on the phone continued to yap away, however the guy in the stores face changed from confusion to utter horror! i turn around and hes computer was smoking! by the time i got to the rig to turn it off, it had complely lit on firei quickly grabed a towl and smotherd the flames shoting out the back and the PSU! Pretty intense for a day in the life of a computer Tech |Drew|

OMG! 60Hz! I would stright up vomit if i sat infront of your screen! IMHO The LCD is one of the best investments i have made in the past 4 years! Not only do they look amazing, the save space, put out less heat and use less power! The biggest thing for me is i can sit in front of a moniter for long times and not feel drowsy...helps me alot for all nighter essay and reports, which to this point has defined my college life.... So ya LCD all the way HDD space can be backed to cds or manilpulated and optimized while if u have a crap screen theres nothing u can do about it |Drew|

Dood ur nuts! Your current package is not shabby...but call up Cox they just changed thei packages. If you have the current plan that your refering to they automatically upgraded it to 4mbit / 512 which is **** fast. i get about 500-600kbs down and 60kbs up They also now offer a higher package for 5 more bucks which is a 5mbit with a 512 or 1mb upstream... and in my experince Cox has been the best cable provider far better then any dsl or cable locally and in my old home town |Drew|

Ghost is not a bad plan of action if your installing on the same machine....but the main reason i use unattended is so i can install it on many systems and have all the basiline apps and updates...its saves me tones of time when building systems and getting them upto the point where they are fully configured and ready to use |Drew|

As far as i know they are two seperate enetities. The both provided Cable tv and internet in different areas. But i belive Comcast is a larger provider or Tv service lsimilar to companies like Direct tv or dish Network |Drew|

Mods are hand picked after alot of time and contribution. However inorder to add mods to the team new sections of mass popularity must me created, ie the addition of the Unattended and member contributed applications. Or in some cases when mods or admins take a leave or become incative... In any case there is no application nor a required post count..its all based admins and mod votes and views. |Drew|

The new models use Apple display which is a propritarty plug. It use to be just straight Dvi...but they changed that now. THere are adaptors however the new displays donot have any onle moniter crontrols. The settings are driectly dictated by MacOs Drivers, so u can nnot modify the contrast, brightness etc.....unless some has made a hacked driver for the Pc. |Drew|

I think the movie was mind blowing! I had read about alot of the things moore was refering to, but seeing them with more proof was interesting. Alot of people, aka bush supporters, have been outraged with this film and have been proclaiming it is nothing but lies. Only thing I can stay to that is that lieying about the prez or anyone for that matter on film is considered slander...and in most cases is pulled be4 it ever reaches the public...so for the fact that the administration has not spoken up to discredit it, i belive the film is factualy sound. The entire elite, saudi, iraq, United arms and enron thing just scares the bejesus out of me...and i think if more people saw this film it may encourge some people to be more active in the goverment and election /Rant |Drew|
