Wow you're a kind fella ! xD We have a very low crime rate in my city, mostly due to the fact that foreigners simply can't allow themselves to live here, too expensive. Also, I don't allow shootings of the locals here.

LinkedIn & Banking Browsers?
D.Draker replied to medowe's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
My old answer was mostly given to the local XP crowd, most of them , including but not limited to @NotHereToPlayGames, can't properly utilize secure connections due to the well known (and described here many times) limitations in WinXP. Take, for example @NotHereToPlayGames, who doesn't even use certifiactes (so we have to assume the warnings are off). There's some truth to what you say, but the next-gen DPI is more sophisticated and not widely shown in public articles yet, one would need to know more about the DPI they use on him, so you're not completely wrong/right , in any case , the argentina guy shouldn't have been that rude to you ! A hint for you would be to search for articles from 2023 , using the keywords DPI next gen, "...latest research report released in March 2023, 61.8% of leading networking vendors find that, ironically, SSL/TLS inspection increases their security vulnerabilities. In fact, security is named as the biggest concern for SSL/TLS inspection. The report ‘Deep packet inspection and encrypted traffic visibility for IP networks’ outlines the potential exposure of sensitive data and network encryption keys as traffic is routed through a forward proxy. Malicious parties can tap into these servers using legitimate lines of communications and subtly siphon out the information." https://www.thefastmode.com/expert-opinion/31355-how-next-gen-dpi-addresses-the-shortcomings-of-ssl-tls-inspection Also, the dangers coming from Deep Packet Inspection and Encrypted Traffic Visibility for IP Networks https://www.thefastmode.com/research-reports/31065-report-deep-packet-inspection-and-encrypted-traffic-visibility-for-ip-networks You shouldn't have been that rude to him ! Watch your language. We all here to learn and share. Behave yourself. -

Actual time maybe off - due to glitches in my browser. (But in any case - 9 hours later than your post). https://msfn.org/board/topic/184730-antimalware-firewall-and-other-security-programs-for-windows-xp-working-in-2023-and-hopefully-beyond/?do=findComment&comment=1244656 In any case, fellas , I don't want to play ball. I said what I said, and nothing else to add. The AV works fine. If my GF sees it works bad, I'll notify you ASAP. Take care and Regards.

I don't share your obsessive desires to bring down the ex-kernel projects. This is not the first (far from it) and (looks like) not the last of your posts with such attempts. Thankfully, DAVE deleted them. @win32 already aswered you regarding your "concerns" about the legality of his work (search his account for links) . His actions are well within his country laws and out of your jurisdiction. The answer about Chrome will follow later, when I'm back. I suggest the mods do the same with these ones (read above) , including my answer (not to bring any unnecessary attention). Also, maybe permanently ban linking to any and all russian websites - simply because they will most likely surely contain wzarez. Less russians, less troubles, you know.
-
And what exactly does that "developer" develop ? Enlighten us, please. EDIT : Isn't it the old Chrome 109 from the last year ? Then it's not only about the illegal content the "developer" provides, it's also off-topic, simply because the thread is about the future of Chrome, not its past , old versions.
-
It's not "hate", it's facts and the rules of the forum. But you have you right to go to your local court and try your luck with such opinions. And I am calm, where so you see I'm not ? I'm calm, cheerful, helping, sociable, friendly, a very nice person in general.

I bet there are many Ivans that use "wuaraez" (I grossly misspelled it on purpose) in their search queries. A more generic (and more official) term would be smth like illegal soft , non-legit,. I doubt they would be searching for "illegal software" . But whaddaIknow.
-
Because the low self-esteem Ivan (why else one would call oneself a Norse God's name?) has illegal software on that website.
-
Did you do the tests yourself ? Do you always trust what they write in the papers ? Whom that testing website belongs to ? Where do they have their headquarters ? Ivan's bedroom ? We still shall continue to support our Italian friends, we are doing it for centuries, I mostly buy Italian clothes for almost half of a century already. She bought the PRO version of Vir.IT eXplorer for her weak PC. That having been said, I'm leaving, and leaving you with Mina7869 and legacysan, perhaps it's too cruel, sorry, I have no control over it. And I wish you a speedy recovery from your tiredness. I know a good Italian vitamins. Kind regards, D.Draker.

Of course Vir.IT eXplorer (calling by the name) runs on XP ! The Antivirus engine is of their own Italian development (no russkies involved) ! My GF (girlfriend) currently runs it on her cheap/outdated PC (Pentium G with only 8GB of the ancient DDR3 RAM , DDR3 is from 2007). 2 - Very easy on PC resources !The product is VB100 certified. All tests passed: https://www.virusbulletin.com/vb100/testing/tgsoft/vir-it-explorer-pro PS. Sorry to hear you're tired ! Get well soon! The German WinHex has all needed tools for recovery. And which original Western software DMDE's based on ? I'm not that naive to trust they develop something of their own.

I asked a simple , *important* , on-topic question, which you, BTW, completely ignored. Yes, I added a sentence to show my opinion. I can't see how it inflates your topic that much. You better hope Mina3679 and legasyfan don't show up here, lol. Also, I already wrote my feedback about the marvellous Ferrari Italian AV jaclaz found for me. Kind regards, D.Draker.

USA and France - allies forever. Glory to the US, Vive La France ! I wonder where's the @jaclaz's Italian anti-virus for XP ? Must be at the first place. I don't see it in the list . @AstroSkipper, am I missing something ? https://msfn.org/board/topic/184730-antimalware-firewall-and-other-security-programs-for-windows-xp-working-in-2023-and-hopefully-beyond/?do=findComment&comment=1244365

I agree with you, what he writes is quite confusing, and it's rather disappointng to see someone from Canada (!!?!!) with that level of English. In any case, I also agree with you - it's better to buy a new one instead of inhaling someone else's dirt/dust from an old PC. If he's on a tight budget, just skip a dedicated card completely and buy a good NEW PC without it, Later add something like RTX3070.
-
This is not a good upgrade. Both, GeForce on his used PC and Radeon on your new one, were in the realm of low-budget $200 cards in 2019. (more than 4 years ago!) 4GB on that Radeon looks like a joke, and Nvidia 1660 is not even the Ti one , also considered super low budget even then ! https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1660-vs-AMD-RX-5500/4038vs4059 But the prices aren't good now.

Thank you for a very useful warning ! I'd never use a chinese "security" soft (politics or not).

Just in case you suggest to run Chrome with NO sandbox again : Google themselves recommend using another browser rather than using Chrome without sandbox. So the last 109 chrome is safer to use on Windows7/8/8/1. https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/68832/what-does-the-chromium-option-no-sandbox-mean

Thanks for you unbreakable will , courage and bravery to spam the hell out of all technical topics at MSFN. I'm proud of your wisdom and knowledge !
-
Thanks ! It's NOT intention, it's fairness and objectiveness. They ditched Vista years ago, how could you compare that state of Vista to the current times ? Where did I say "I want to" ? Better not even start about the "popularity". Most popular here seems to be XP and 98, a bit of Vista. Just look at the trending topics. What was the last popular Windows 7 thread here ? Right, none. This one (mostly off-topic) can't be defined as popular, here poor users just cry about the dead win7, without showing any actual saving (technical) suggestions. I too get that you like Windows 8/1 that seem to run the new UN-sandboxed Chrome with the help of hacks. (but this is not what this topic about). Here, another example of off-topic questions.
-
Thanks! Please tell, were there any omens that tried to tell you I might have known that already ? Besides, it can be brought back as easily ! Imagine someone who doesn't live alone, someone with any forms of shared access, children, not that clever girlfriend that loves to click on autorun ? Or the same ol' ex-DDR communists that might have a remote access to ones PC ? Or software and/or updates that bring back the default OS settings ?

Says someone who advertised Kaspersky on a daily basis, I even thought you got shares in their business. Now, thanks to the forces of nature, you don't, and I even think of starting to like you. Go on like this and you have all chances of becoming the local expert with unbiased opinion.

For many years, with the soviet help (of course), ex-DDR communists had been developing a top notch, nasty, modern PC virus, imagine such scenario, now they've breached your fortress-house, carrying an infected USB flash drive, unfortunately you (your family) went to visit the Bavarian friends on a holiday and missed the daily AV update definitions, so the only thing that will save the World your PC - that simple, yet powerful tool, which blocks the autorun Virus without the updates and/or user interactions !

Chromium: 115.0.5737.0 . Release date: April 27, 2023, unsurprisingly - it doesn't work on either Win 7/8/8.1. It is now SIX major versions above the last for these OSes, yet they're still in the main OS section of the forum. Remember how fast Vista was dumped into the "older OS" bin. Will the so-called "extended kernel for win 7" allow to run anything beyond ver.109 to run ? I highly doubt that ! Anyone, confirm, thanks. The official GitHub mirror of the Chromium source : https://www.gitclear.com/open_repos/chromium/chromium/release/115.0.5737.0
-
You're welcome ! I guess not everyone wants to run real-time scanners or any real AV, and this simple tool will prevent their PC from infecting off these autorun viruses.
