  1. Just reading today, unable to do much
  2. That being said ... bedtimes is almost upon me and I accomplished nothing today. Yeah, I'm working on it. Days go by and I lose track if not for date and time on bottom right corner of computer. I have no calendar and can't use alarm clock anymore ... another story. I've not been keeping up and only 1 or 2 days go by and I'm lost here ... will try to catch up in the AM ... reading somewhere discussion about Chrome but can't seem to find it now. Oh well! I'm relaxed, but weary of things. Ugh. Sorry.
  3. I don't care that my ISP knows that I LOVE XP and I'm a blobfish. What concerns me more, is what would Judge Joseph Wapner think of my queries. **where's my tin foil hat** <OT> ...
  4. I agree and sedentary lifestyle is unhealthy. Guilty, as I've far too much time on my hands and wallowing is not good and can't be good for the brain or the body. People work hard entire life then retire (sometimes for "good") I don't know, sometimes focus too much on sleep rather than how to spend time awake constructively. Besides, begin awake and getting natural sun helps to produce more melatonin to repair for sleep.
  5. Same ... and I would understand of some off topic posts/thread (even my own threads) needed to be closed entirely to abide by the rules. Hard sometimes and why politics an religion are two topics usually avoided, unless on such forums to discuss those specific topics, but, even on those (dedicated) forums, they require close moderation and that would be unfair for a tech forum, the staff, and other members as that *would* be confusion and distraction from our purpose. That being said: We are lucky and grateful to have good moderation to maintain this forum .....
  6. Just wanted to quickly clarify that while closely related; being positive isn't exactly the same (or necessarily assumed to be combined with) one being optimistic VS pessimistic. I try (very hard sometimes) to be positive and put out positive energy (white light) rather than (foster) negative energy, but as said by @D.Draker the truth isn't always cheery, but need to know the truth to become optimistic about the future even if that optimism is fleeting and very cautious. Don't be fooled by an eternal optimist can turn to https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/complacency Definition of complacency 1 : self-satisfaction especially when accompanied by unawareness of actual dangers or deficiencies When it comes to safety, complacency can be dangerous. 2 : an instance of usually unaware or uninformed self-satisfaction Once our eyes are open, hard to just pretend and walk around with head in the sand ... whislt ... hard also to not become jaded and bitter and vengeful. I've not been able to master this myself, seen it overtake good men and it was in their eyes and they could no longer disguise it. Sorry, lost it somewhere, but will continue. Anyway ... I do hope the good is yet to come, but I doubt I'll see it during my lifetime so I have to (should be) optimistic for a future and can only do a little to avoid contributing to the anger and despair in the world. I have to focus on what I've control over. I feel being the best example and setting *positive* examples for others is best, because, all too many times, I've found it very easy to add to the corruption and we can attract negative energy easily and is spreads. However, being passionate about negative situations can lead to good. I hope. Hope and faith aren't even the same, but I have faith that.. Negative situations can lead to good; I hope!
  7. So ... does this mean a visit to Penn State is the same as vist to state pen?
  8. I've been using a Brita water filter for quite some time now ... but it mainly promises to remove Chlorine and bad taste ... people pay a lot for water and I often wonder if those bottled waters are from the cloudy creek down the street.
  9. No dark thoughts then, will try to stay positive for you and others over there.
  10. I agree completely with @msfntor and I'm sure others. I wish you would reconsider, I know you're passionate about the cause and have strong feelings already before the war, but, you said you already served in the military and some might say you've served your duty well. Isn't there other ways you could help in the war with your computer knowledge? I know right now (of course) they need 'boots on the ground' but are there other ways to helps without sacrificing your life. You are important to you. I don't know you family situation, but, sorry to say, if you were gone for the sake to "reduce the red's, they will appear again. Its not easy as that, sacrificing your life (singularly) isn't going to change much. You're never disturbing anybody and we are always glad to see you. I care and others do too about you.
  11. I'm happy if I say something that helps others in some way, but I'm just being open about myself. I'm human and will say the wrong things, but, at least, I don't clam to be otherwise. Others are also well meaning and try, on a public forum and is the section and sub-forum things will likely come up that bring others discomfort and this is why we have strong moderation and admin to report to when it breaks the rule or goes overboard, this is not the case in some mental health anxiety forums. I think the heat has been too much today and will turning in to bed early. I think I need to start eating at least 2 times a day even though I'm not hungry in this heat and humidity. Almost 9PM and have some responsibility to attend to this week, but am VERY luck to have this time to myself and I cherish it as others lives are in total disarray in war torn countries where such freedom doesn't come so easy as I have it compare to others. Be well everyone, just try, and dust yourself off each time and don't stay down, at least, not for too long as getting back up from complete and total incapacitated state if assistance becomes a monster that can see to much to handle even for the strongest of will. I'm nothing special, but I will at least say, I've always meant well and will continue as to not become part of the problem rather than part of the solution(s).
  12. Hi @AstroSkipper and @mina7601 Thank you for reaching out to me ... means a great deal more than you realize. I'm sorry and I didn't mean to give any reason for concern and partly why I dropped out after realizing. a) It didn't work as expected and I had (screen proof) of all those errors. b) This is without question - way over my head. While it may appear I've got a clue its a mirage. Lol I know more that I did when I first got here, but, still, lacking in other areas and I fully admit to such. Part of being a good beta tester is admitting when things go wrong and to report everything as such regardless of others success, and I DO admit I was cut down a peg when I though, seeing others reporting success, to have failed in several aspect of this project. This obviously, requires a bit more knowledge than I posses. Even on one of my most (dare I even say) clearest moments/days, I couldn't even pretend to keep up and even the last few pages lost me; but you see, I didn't report each failure and gave up. I will admit, I did not give up after only a few tries, of course, me (being me, a tinkerer) how could I even if I wanted to. Of course I tried and take it too far each time (Maybe 11 or 12 tries) resulting in unstable and unable to boot at all, but not at the fault of the testers or author as others didn't have these issues. After things went off the rails, I (again, being me) take it the the farthest degree and started to pull apart other areas of my system, and indeed discovered I'm running on unstable ground to put it lightly; but you did see the errors and they are strange. All relying heavily on my Acronis Backups to bail me out, and each and every single time, they INDEED did and never let me down. From complete crash like it never happened at all. I was able to restore from a few months to a few years ago and my backup (TIB File) files ranging from 3 GB to a mere 934 MB (yes, very very slim) XP. So, sorry for the very long answer to your question, but, yes was able to get my partitions up and running as I was taught to do very early on when things go very wrong and I've had to ask myself it it was worth chasing down the problem or just recover to a backup that had never failed even when the systems were (by all counts) dead and killed off. So, @mina7601, the main reason(s) I backed out was because I saw that I can not keep up and have issues (still talking about computers .... haha) preventing me from running this out of the box as I see it should work. And, @AstroSkipper and @NotHereToPlayGames and @Dave-H I did read your questions but didn't reply as I gave up and didn't want to admit that I'm (obviously) not as up-to-date as I should be as others here are. While I have in my registry that I'm (almost) pos ready and many updates even came up as sp4 - did I use the unofficial and back up to a stable point - that is entirely possible and probable given that I've not always been in a state state of mind to be making changes, but I can't help it sometimes, is whom I am and will always likely be, so you can be I'm still the same tweaked member trying new things, you weren't wrong. I've only two computes that are working: This Dell Optiplex 745 and my Dimension 3000. The Dimension is not so lucky and I can't do much with that but have still relied on Acronis to backup when I've botched it. Anyway, I'm fine, I guess, so please don't worry, I'm pretty open and you'll know when I'm in rough shape, because I usually say so somewhere as such and my writing goes from bad to worse and loaded with typos or I leave threads only to come back. Ha! Tell you what, though, let me think about this this week and please allow me to ask again, but I'm not sure I'm 'up to it' honestly. I'm fine and as the day progresses my (already) faulty attentions span and energy degrades, so I only had brief moments of clarity, but sometimes they become increased in duration. Yes, completely and 100% as the day I backed it up cloned. Thank you and your care means a lot, but even if I'm not a part of this project, doesn't mean I don't hope for the best for others and I will settle. ~Sal
  13. Ah, now I see after the update. This is now: Serpent File Version: 4.8.6.8243 (From 4.8.4.8147) Build ID: 20220727014341 Again, very very nice to see this as I didn't expect it.
  14. Such a beautiful experience - thank you for sharing it! I use honey in my tea and never forget when that comes from :)
  15. Sadly, I've stopped maintaining my FF52 profile, I used it to compare with Serpent 52, mostly I would never trust FF from 2018 and Serpent fixed a lot of the security issues.
  16. Glad to see you back, we were thinking of you Hows the weather down there? Hot up north here and humid so I hope you enjoy the the heat I'd bet its humid. You made it there, please remove any unrealistic expectations. No vacations or cures overnight. Don't feel bad about us, we are here good bad or whatever - no judgment. I think the fact that you came back (especially during your vaca) shows courage and reach out whenever. We don't expect any "good results" nor do we have any expectations, know that you can open up here and unload some that burden on your mind and just to vent, but, yeah, would be nice sometimes to have support in real life, mostly my therapist nowadays and the occasional pleasantries I exchanged with people in the complex are about it for me. Feels that way sometimes and "alone" means something different to others - like I love being alone (I embrace the solitude and its solace), but being 'alone in this world' means (to some) feeling as an outcast that we don't belong and YOU DO BELONG IN THIS WORLD! Small bits of happiness are fleeting hang on only for short time but don't chase them, I hope that makes sense, if not, I"ll try to rephrase. We can't be happy all the time, happy moments, sad moments, angry moments ... let then pass. You cant have one without the others, but the dark times will become less and less once you start to process what is troubling you. You have nothing to be sorry about - not at all. Keeping it bottled up inside is bad and I hope you will find a good therapist so you have something other than online friends. Not saying they aren't good, but better to not rely on them as they can be fickle. I'm already insane Kidding; or am I................ So, please tell us what you enjoyed about the vacation thus far or things you're looking forward to while there! Try to fine several things about the scenery, the food, the accommodations other than that nagging depression and anxiety, We'd love you find a way to enjoy yourself regardless (or in spite) of what you're dealing with. Trust me, you'll have plenty of time when you get back so just enjoy yourself and the folks you are surrounded with.
  17. Installed last night and have been using all day and this is quite an improvement as I see you @roytam1 worked hard. I find: Version 52.9.0 (32-bit) Build ID 20220730023424 ... to be the best so far and it feels like I'm on a different browser altogether. Very Nice; indeed! Thank you
  18. I thought she was amazing on this live performance - hope you enjoy. youtube.com/watch?v=p9cokosaXLA
  19. I have a pretty severe phobia to bees and wasps, but I read they are deadly. Luckily there were never any sightings of them up north here :)
  20. Wowzers I must say ... after reading the release notes, I think I Blew a Circuit somewhere! Will be interesting to see where to road leads going forward; to say the (very) least. Certainly happy for them and wish them well with "their" browser, whatever that may be, for them and all involved and the efforts they have already put into it. Was going to say (somethings along the lines) continued success, but, at closer look, seems they are going in a different direction; altogether. Edited to remove links to a foreign site.
  21. I think you'll fit in well here ... :) Welcome!
  22. Was going to say that is WAY over my head
  23. Well ... I've a pretty good stock of prune juice, but that another story altogether user_pref("browser.tabs.remote.autostart", true); user_pref("browser.tabs.remote.force-enable", true); user_pref("browser.tabs.remote.separateFileUriProcess", true); user_pref("dom.ipc.plugins.flash.subprocess.crashreporter.enabled", false); user_pref("dom.ipc.plugins.reportCrashURL", false); user_pref("dom.ipc.processHangMonitor", false); user_pref("app.support.e10sAccessibilityUrl", ""); extensions.e10sBlocksEnabling;true (default) Still not great, though, sad to say and I'm STILL having issues with my documentary site, just turns and turns with that error and I can't correct it. Are you still on Serpent version: Version 52.9.0 (32-bit) Build ID 20220701004211 ? On two process and 3 is worse and I found this to be the best version. Tried last nigh and new was slow, but will try again as it could've been me. I only see one other member with this issues on 360V11 but other members have reported they can watch them, so this is a switch, usually its others than can't and I also can't seem to say with my preferred ua.
  24. I've noticed that same! general.useragent.compatMode.version;102.0 general.useragent.compatMode.gecko;true general.useragent.compatMode.firefox Which leaves me with: User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:102.0) Gecko/20100101 Goanna/4.8 Firefox/102.0 Basilisk/52.9.0
  25. Hi .. We seem to having a related issue - rather I'm experiencing it in Serpent 52.55
