I'm no saint either, I contributed to my own situation. Have to own up to and take responsibility to move forward. Glad you quit smoking, not every can. Actually, I was always the 'good kid' home at 10PM and never hung out with bad crowd, but not that case in my 20's; sadly ... almost was my demise, but some didn't make it through it. Now I live quiet life, but I'm too reclusive and fear people. Hard to explain.

Whatever happened (or is currently still happening), be it of traumatic nature, I'm glad you've made it through it, and seeing as it started on the 20th, means you are stronger than you realize. We are here to listen, may not have the (right) answers, but if you feel comfortable and want to write about it (be it vague in posting) we are always here if you need us. Will write more as it comes to me ... be well and try not to let it wear down at your resolve. EDIT: Chin up.

But then again ... I'm using this browser in its most basic form with a lot disabled (wasm / acceleration / webgl / worker). My faulty (and failing) hardware won't even begin to support such and I've had no crashes and no issues others report.

I try to admit to myself my part and not repeat the "cycle". Trust me, the cycle can continue very easily if we allow it to fester and we punish ourselves so easily.

Keep in mind, society is toxic and we need to do things to keep ourselves well, and sometimes that does mean to limit exposure to news.

My therapist tells me that ruminating over the past (even yesterday) is unhealthy. I don't hold a grudge, but I also don't forget, I learn from it and try to not repeat the same path that caused me to be in this situation. True, I didn't have control over much of it, but I contribute to it; I admit that. You don't have to say, and I wouldn't ask anything of somebody that would further cause hurt feelings or sorrow, but I am guilty of saying the wrong thing to people. Even trained doctors screw up (royally screw up - big time) and bartenders become therapist for some, but I've not been to a bar since the 1990s and never will even again. Total sobriety is the way to go. Ugh .. see .. I'm saying all the wrong things right now.

You didn't offend me at all, I was wondering why my posting caused you concern is all. I was sort of joking (tongue-and-cheek) type humor in say my posting was weird because I AM weird. The latter also is ok with me as I have sense of humor and dearly departed father used to say there is nothing wrong with being an outsider or what others would consider odd - would never want to be "normal" No, please feel sorry for me, I'm actually doing alright considering.

Ha ... that was strange posting indeed, but I always like seeing Jack nonetheless and it was funny. Ok: The way I understand it, is.. Pretty Detox thread is his support thread and to encourage him and recovery, so if I've nothing supportive to post (or reply to his posting) I say nothing. If I find something to help or to offer something to Detoxify from this toxic society, I'll post something. This thread is a I don't know thread, and even I wonder why the moderators haven't merged the MSFN cafe together. This is creating more work to monitor two threads.
