problem with the installation of windows xp 64
ED_Sln replied to dj-access's topic in Windows XP 64 Bit Edition
Try booting in safe mode. If it boots, then create a new account from there. The image is not original? The original x64 does not ask for the account name, but automatically creates the user "Administrator." Try the original image. -
If third-party codecs are not installed in the system, such an error appears when opening any video. It is fixed by replacing the ffcodec.dll file from the old version.
-
Most likely some kind of standard driver causes BSOD. Try selecting the option "Disable reboot in case of system failure" in the boot menu. Then the BSOD will be shown, and perhaps it will indicate the reason.
-
Tabs in the browser? Try disabling hardware acceleration in your browser settings.
-
Perhaps the computer will not go into sleep mode and hibernation.

I have a strange idea. Is it possible to build Wine for Windows XP and use it to run incompatible applications? I'm not a programmer, so I don’t know if it’s possible to do such a thing. What do you think about this?

Help please! I have all drivers working except for sound
ED_Sln replied to Duck42069's topic in Windows XP
If the sound works, then the driver is installed and working. To select the sound output, you need to start the sound card control panel; for IDT, it is located in the control panel. -
KB4034775, KB4343674, KB4458000, KB4458006, KB4462987, KB4463573, KB4473077, KB4487085-v2, KB4487385, KB4489977, KB4490385, KB4493793, KB4493794, KB4493795, KB4493796, KB4493797, KB4494528, KB4495022.

If the system is already installed, then boot from any Live CD and replace the file. Or pack the file in the cab archive and replace it on the installation disk using UltraISO.
-
Run regedit, go to the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace" branch and delete the {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}.

I found a suitable computer, and checked for updates requiring SSE2. Here is the list: KB4034775, KB4343674, KB4458000, KB4458006, KB4462987, KB4463573, KB4473077, KB4487085-v2, KB4487385, KB4489977, KB4490385, KB4493793, KB4493794, KB4493795, KB4493796, KB4493797, KB4494528, KB4495022. Updates replaced by updates requiring SSE2: KB4087398, KB4093257, KB4463361.
-
I will try to find a computer without SSE2 support in order to check and find all updates that cause problems.
-
About this previously written several times in this thread. Blame update KB4494528, corrected by executing the command "regsvr32 MSI.DLL".
-
Updates KB4087398 and KB4463361 can be installed, they do not require SSE2. The KB4487085-v2 update in the catalog is called KB4487085, but the downloaded files are called KB4487085-v2. Update KB4493563 does not seem to require SSE2.

Driver for Intel HD2000: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/81502/Intel-HD-Graphics-2000 I looked for a description of the laptop, and often on this model is installed ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 graphics card. 4GB of memory 32 bit XP does not see. The maximum is 3.5GB. Here is an article why this is happening, and what workarounds are there.

As far as I know, in the slim version there are no additional installers (toolbars, google chrome and so on). But program files should not be different. Here is a permanent link: https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/download/slim Slim version come out a few days later than usual.

Try to completely remove teamviewer, then delete the files from the folder C:\Program Files\TeamViewer, if they remain there. Is the system fully updated? I have installed IE8, all updates, and all versions of C++ 2005-2019.
-
Since June 18, all free versions that are below version 14 no longer work. It seems that the latest version that runs on XP is 14.2.8352. Here is a link where you can download it: https://dl.teamviewer.com/download/version_14x/14.2.8352/TeamViewer_Setup.exe Wrote here so that others can download the working version.

I don’t have all the links, there are only very old ones (approximately 2002-2003), and two links to the Russian and English versions. http://download.microsoft.com/download/5/4/f/54f8bcf8-bb4d-4613-8ee7-db69d01735ed/xpsp1a_en_x86.exe http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/d/7/fd7a4d93-1cf6-40ac-93c9-c99338aa95ec/xpsp1a_ru_x86.exe http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/sp/sp1/WXP/ru/xpsp1_ru_x86.exe http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/sp/sp1/WXP/nl/xpsp1_nl_x86.exe http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/sp/sp1/WXP/nl/xpsp1_nl_x86.exe http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/sp/sp1/WXP/sv/xpsp1_sv_x86.exe http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/SP/SP1/WXP/en-us/xpsp1_en_x86.exe http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/SP/SP1/WXP/fr/xpsp1_fr_x86.exe http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/SP/SP1/WXP/de/xpsp1_de_x86.exe http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/SP/SP1/WXP/ES/xpsp1_es_x86.exe http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/SP/SP1/WXP/it/xpsp1_it_x86.exe http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/SP/SP1/WXP/ja/xpsp1_ja_x86.exe http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/sp/sp1/WXP/pt-br/xpsp1_br_x86.exe

After installing the KB4494528 update, run the following command: regsvr32 MSI.DLL. Update KB4493563, I do not know if there are any problems. Update KB4501226 posted by chance, because support for XP has ended, and this update is not related to security. Therefore, it was removed, but there are no problems after its installation.
