  2. Running Win XP Home Edition 2002 SP3 on a decrepit unstable HP Media Center M7350n PC and trying to use Chromium Version 54.20.6530.0 doesn't display Youtube properly. New to Chromium and I read about disabling spoofing. I've not been able to find anything online so I posted here. Can someone give me tips? Thank you
  3. I work with a lot of Windows XP computers and well I have to connect some to the internet (So I can do junk like get drivers on them, install software or just playing music in the background while I work on them) Anyways, for the past while I've been using Chrome for web browsing but Chrome's starting to feel slow and a lot of sites aren't working right anymore. So what's the best browsers for XP - one that's more are more up to date? (side note: I use Firefox on my main xp pc, as it works best with YouTube)
  4. It's good to find this site as I'm hoping solutions will be available. I have a XP desktop (SP3) and Firefox ESR 52.2.1 is presenting with connection errors to common sites such as Outlook.com/ LinkedIn/ Yahoo and others. Your site came up in a google search and after reading Monroe's thread titled 'Browsers Still Working with WinXP in 2017' it was clear I was not alone in this situation. I would upgrade to a new machine/software but that is not possible at this time if you get my meaning, so I'm trying to see what can be done to preserve internet access. I tried SWiron and Sea monkey but they would not install on my OS. I DL'd 98SE's archive of Opera in hopes it will install and run on my machine. If anyone reading this has some suggestions, I'm open. Thanks to the persons behind this site and I hope to hear from you.
  5. After like 3min of connecting from my other Windows system to my XP MCE machine via RDP, it BSODs with error codes c0000005 (0x77cd252b 0x0052f36c) and states that the Windows Subsystem Process (smss.exe) was closed unexpectedly. Does anyone know what's causing this and how do I prevent this from happening again? It used to run via RDP flawlessly until now...
  6. Hello there So I finally got Win98 installed which took me a long while to figure out on L440GX+ board. And I'm dualbooting it with Windows XP. What I need is to backup both OSes saving the boot.ini, saving all the stuff needed to dualboot those two together. No games, music etc included just OSes on those two separate 10gb partitions I have for them. So my question is to those with Symantec Ghost experience (or some other drive image creating software). Should I create images of two separate partitions or backup the whole drive? (which is 73gb btw.)
  7. A the left, major part of the image, is shown up the Open - Save dialogue that show the cursed Icons by default in Win XP SP 1.0a... I do wonder, if I can modify the comdlg32.dll somehow (or registry?) to FORCE the Open-Save dialogue to open always default with the list view, as shown in the right part of the image: I tried hard searching on Google for the comdlg32.dll internals, but did not found anything usefull. I think that it will be something in the dialogue no. 1547 (when one have disabled the places bar, witch places it will be the no. 1552) in comdlg32.dll file: 1547 DIALOGEX 0, 0, 537, 334STYLE DS_MODALFRAME | DS_CONTEXTHELP | WS_POPUP | WS_VISIBLE | WS_CLIPCHILDREN | WS_CAPTION | WS_SYSMENUCAPTION "Otevřít"LANGUAGE LANG_CZECH, 0x1FONT 8, "MS Shell Dlg"{ CONTROL "Oblast &hledání:", 1091, STATIC, SS_LEFT | SS_NOTIFY | WS_CHILD | WS_VISIBLE | WS_GROUP, 3, 4, 49, 8 CONTROL "", 1137, COMBOBOX, CBS_DROPDOWNLIST | CBS_OWNERDRAWFIXED | CBS_HASSTRINGS | WS_CHILD | WS_VISIBLE | WS_VSCROLL | WS_TABSTOP, 53, 1, 149, 300 CONTROL "", 1088, STATIC, SS_LEFT | WS_CHILD, 211, 1, 88, 16 CONTROL "", 1120, LISTBOX, LBS_NOTIFY | LBS_NOINTEGRALHEIGHT | LBS_MULTICOLUMN | WS_CHILD | WS_BORDER | WS_HSCROLL, 1, 18, 535, 284But all these dropdown lists show only 4 numbers, witch is basically their position and size... Not what is pre-selected by them. So, maybe I have to edit the dialog this way? I don't know, but any ideas are more that wellcome! Thanks!
  8. Hello forum, after days of trial 'n error with nlite, I am close to just give up. I am trying to integrate all Hotfixes into XP-SP2 before microsoft removes them on april 2014. However, everytime I test my new DVD, the XP-textsetup tells me: "Please insert Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2-CD into drive A:" (really, it reads drive A:) this happens before the file-copy-process, directly after the F6-screen (press F6 to apply SCSI or Raid-drivers). I tried shrinking the DVD I removed some unneccesary txt-drivers (there a still several left though) I deactivated windows file protection I tried integrating hotfixes in a different order Still, the text-setup just won't recognize the DVD. I'm close to give up. Somebody please help. I'm using nlite 1.9.3. For testing I use virtualbox 4.1.26 r84997. The ini-file is attached. In nlite IE7-integration didn't work - as well as 5 or 6 other hotfixes. I think it's msxml4 and msxml6 not getting included. XP-SP2-Silent.ini
