  1. For those with font-antialising issues in nvidia set ups in XP, you may consider finding and using nvidiaProfileInspector 3.5.0.0 by Deadmanwalking-TO Github. Reason for edit: I will take this with cordial spirit.
  2. Thanks for that. Off topic: funny thing, really, because of (what I consider) spyawre restrictions I imposed on mozilla hybrids, I cant install or download mozilla extension in hybrids. I have to go to chrome hybrids to download, and then install in mozilla. And the other way around. Damn kids can only play ball in their terms, only to be circunvented.
  3. For those who may think this thread is visited regularly by win32, I just want to remind them that this thread was created and owned by Dibya, and that the first and only time win32 participated in it was in september 2023 (first page), about right before an apparently very sensitive to brightness participant complained about "excessive brightness", something only one other participant in this thread has complained about. For them: try dark mode/dark ui flags, they work flawlessly and, as the whole supermium package, for free.
  4. As per his words, they were later on (same thread) rebuilt from scratch due to some remaining issues. https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/files/14141689/corrected_api_sets.zip
  5. DRM is disabled in Supermium, and even if it could be enabled (I haven't tried), as per @VistaLover, it wouldn't work. I don't use DRM, didn't claim it works. I only say an unconstrained Supermium 121 in XP gets widewine, something I haven't seen in years.
  6. Well, not that I like what you say, but thanks for the explanation, as usual.
  7. Actually, with version 125 121 (typo), when I run it unconstrained, it does get widewine. I haven't tried it yet, but the folder structure and the dll are there.
  8. I don't think so, but if you feel I do (or want to) check yours, and it makes you feel good, be my guest ;p
  9. Well, it took more than a few secs. As I said in a previous post, supermium leaves chrome processes opened after closing. So that is why the supermium folder was on my RAM profiles folder, locked as being used (which it was). Running from default, supemium creates, in my set up, user data in the temp folder (which I also run from RAM). Running from there (and with my firewall allowing all connections) I could run YT and GM quite well, actually, obviously with no privacy, in the manner D Draker mentions ungoogled would not allow. I don't like that behavior, actually, but again, provided you don't care to share your info with GG and whoever else is looking over GG logs, it may give you access to stuff other browsers couldn't (including supermium prevented from exercising normal chrome spyware functions). It is not problematic for me because I run temp from RAM (so it's gone with all settings at restart). What bothers me is the info stored at HKEY_USERS\S-YOURUSERNUMBER\Software\Supermium, which looks too much like a set of uids. Articfoxie dealt with that in 360chrome with a tailored set of reg entries. I wonder if that can be replicated in this case. Cheers!
  10. I mention it because by mistake I run a direct shortcut I had made -like I do with all my browsers, to compare performance vis-a-vis my tweaked launchers-. I was surprised it was creating the profile in RAM, as I had instructed it to do with my customized launcher. It shouldn't have. I used whatchanged 1.07 to see changes in my c drive when launching directly again, and I could see the creation of a HKEY_USERS\S-YOURUSERNUMBER\Software\Supermium item, but nothing physical in C. I checked in my RAM drive, and it was there. I delete both the folder in RAM and the registry entry, and launched again. Both the profile in RAM and the registry entry were recreated. So, the settings to do that (including the RAM folder location) are saved somewhere else. Seeing that, I decided to copy my saved extensions/localstate+ settings in the RAM folder, delete the registry item, and launch directly again. I report in the next post what happens: I expect supermium to use the settings in the profile folder. More in a few seconds.
  11. BTW:: where is user data (your profile) saved by supermium when running directly?
  12. I used to just delete all the startup caches, just because. 2 or so years ago I stopped doing so, after having a peek at them and seeing noting spyware like on them. Was I right then and wrong now?
  13. With your evidently superb hardware, 125 shouldn't be an issue. In fact: why vista (and then its business version) when you could be on windows 11, I wonder.
  14. https://discmaster.textfiles.com/ Check Mosaic (the last one). When I first used (northern winter of 1994) it was mindblowing.
  15. Well, it's the first build for XP, the alpha. Seeing the thoroughness of its development, I trust newer versions will do better. Bottom line: the browser's settings have to be reviewed to prevent such a heavy first load in XP, it should review the requirements/resources allowed to GG flagship apps, and also - not reported before- the persistence of chrome processes after closing it, even when the settings command it to do so. I forgot to mention: I ran it with umatrix, ublock (full set of lists, as in Astroskipper's legacy + a few more), clearurl, behinf the overlay, singlefile and tampermonkey). I will keep the browser as it stands with my tweaks now, because it may allow me to enter sites I can't with sp52, mypal68, or the last mod of 360chrome by Articfoxie.
  16. What, don't you like me fonts? ;P Those are the browser's fonts, criticized by all but 66cats in this thread.
  17. I said I tested here and there, including MSFN (italics added for emphasis). That means MSFN was one of many tabs I worked with, while testing. Comprende? As per testing YT or GM first: folly. If you read back, you'll see it took a while for me to get supernium not to crash on start. When I achieved that, I started disabling things I know cause loading issues. When I manage to make it load, seeing it was still heavy, I disabled a bunch of chrome//flags. All the while reporting and surfing around, to see what happened, including hog FB. Once I couldn't think of more things to disable/turn off, only then I tried YT (in many ways) with no success (always crashing the tab or the browser, and then GM, which resulted unusable, for slow. And with that, my testing of this version of Supernium ended.
  18. Well, you do comprehend English, right? I tested the software. To do so, I first deployed, adapted it with settings I knew (at least used to) work in prior chrome versions, I surfed here and there, including MSFN, where I was leaving my notes. Here and there, it was fast. In YT it crashed, and worked like snail in GM. That is it.
  19. But, the proof is in the pudding. I cant even get to open the YT page without a tab crashing, and loading gmail takes forever. Maybe with 4 to 8 extra GB of RAM...
  20. I'm impressed by how this browser behaves in XP, how well documented it is, and the scope of choices it has, including many ungoogled options. I would prefer to have a search engine of my choice, but well, you can't have it all. Congratulations to the developer.
  21. The result is much faster loading, better privacy, reduction of spyware features, and so on.
  22. I learn from everybody who has something of value to offer. You have made your valuable contributions, but they are (in my opinion, no offense intended, just the facts) of no comparison to those of @Sampei.Nihira. You'd do better were to stop offending people, particularly due to their proficiency in a second or third (for some of us, fifth or more) language, and keeping the high road. It does exist. Back on topic: in yourprofilepath, next to the default folder, one can find a file called "Local State." It holds all the chrome://flags you move out of default. As I was saying, " I'm systematically disabling flags related to: autofill, webrtc, webgl (now unnecessary, chrome finally caught up), payment, credit (reviewing card with detail, for there are some related to cards other than credit cards and smart card), share/sharing, password (most of them), sync (most of them), geolocation, and history (most of them)." Those choices get saved in "Local State". If you save that file (together with your extensions and browser settings in the "Default" folder, you can then recreate your profile from scratch, with your preferred stuff and preferences, fresh as the same day you finished customizing your browser. Which I did today. Cheers!
  23. Black content and black ui work very well. Doing all that I'm sure to lose some things. As I discover them, I reenable, if deemed necessary.
