POSReady 2009 updates ported to Windows XP SP3 ENU
FantasyAcquiesce replied to glnz's topic in Windows XP
Is there an AIO installer of POSReady2009 updates? It would be great to have another utility like the Unofficial Service Pack for XP -
If anybody knows a good site like Softpedia, please tell me immediately! I've discovered a Chromium 53-browser for XP, and a 56-based browser as well! So glad those Mandarin classes are paying off! It's sad how language barriers make good software hard to find... Both aren't in English, BUT one does not have all the annoying certificate issues like all the Chinese web browsers (excluding 360 Chrome and more or less Maxathon).

My Browser Builds (Part 1)
FantasyAcquiesce replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
@roytam1 If you ever want different icons for your builds please let me know I've been playing around quite a bit with paint.net and commercial-friendly stock photos. It's been a pretty fun experience and I would love to share https://imgur.com/a/cgvWC59 3D B&W Win95 icon, golden-ish 9x logo, and my personal Ifranview picture -
Could you post a back-up of these nice drivers? The links in the main thread no longer link to the proper drivers...

The fact Maxthon 5 and 360 browser appears to use Chromium 69 makes me wonder if there's an open-source version available on the internet in Chinese...I don't know enough Mandarin to properly search

I may not remember correctly, but I recall a Chinese web browser called "7-star"...this is another name for the browser? Oh...it appears this is the same company that maliciously installed 360 browser onto people's computers and claimed it was superior to IE6...whether it actually was, I do not know, but I also know that uninstalling the browser originally resulted in reconnecting to the internet confusing. If someone here on the forums knows fluent Mandarin, perhaps there's XP-friendly Chromium 69 laying around someone on the internet in the Chinese language...Maxthon too used Chromium 69.

I am pretty sure I used both latest core.ini and kexbases.dll. It was included in 20, right? I'll try 1.7.5, but I doubt it's going to work considering what happened with the version I mentioned. This occurs with both SMPlayer and UMPlayer; the bar to change time won't work. UMPlayer doesn't really work besides displaying the video (didn't test options though). SMPlayer will display properly, options works, play button works only after the video has ended, but the bar to change time won't work. This is technically an existing issue, but there are far fewer issues on v20 than v19 any day.

Not a programmer, but how difficult would backporting Chromium to XP and Vista be considering we have all the tarballs available? https://gsdview.appspot.com/chromium-browser-official/?marker=chromium-50.0.2625.0-lite.tar.xz.hashe%40 Apparently, Arctic Fox works on XP despite not being supported https://nfeteam.org/forum/threads/windows-xp.1892/

Hey, as I was browsing my options for a windows xp installation, I noticed there was not a single offline installer for Chedot. Is there a way I can create offline installers with web browsers in general? I saw a tutorial on doing so for Chedot by using Resource hacker and makesfx.exe I'm not programmer either but would it be difficult to backport newer Chromium tarballs to Windows XP, given this archive? https://gsdview.appspot.com/chromium-browser-official/?marker=chromium-50.0.2625.0-lite.tar.xz.hashe%40

Jumper's latest kernelex 20 updates + SMPlayer 0.8.6 (portable) plays MP4 perfectly! Version 20 fixed something very well because v19 would only sometimes display the video partially and would not resize! V20 does not crash! <3 MPC-HC 1.6.4.6052 will only install but does not work. This is on actual hardware as well There are a few issues though: screenshots taken with the software will appear as black in the video area and the play button and time won't change.

My Windows ME laptop acts kinda funny...actual programs work fine while the desktop and explorer act laggy... What are some good alternatives? Maybe customization as well I'm hoping to make the laggy-ness of explorer and the ME shell go away EDIT: to avoid making too many topics at once, I'm also asking for some good back-up software. One where I can just create an image backup or something like that and restore Windows!

KernelEx 2022 (Kex22) Test Versions (4.22.26.2)

Isn't KernelEx open source? Can't someone just compile all updated files by jumper then replace them in the original KernelEx code then compile a Windows 98-friendly installer? -
Installing Windows XP on Bay Trail-M CPU
FantasyAcquiesce replied to FantasyAcquiesce's topic in Windows XP
I need drivers for... Intel Valleyview SoC - Integrated Graphics Card (Video) Atheros/Qualcomm AR9565 Wireless Network Adapter Intel Valleyview SoC - HD Audio Controller [C0] Hardware ID is: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV__0F04&SUBSYS_06901028&REV_0E If it helps, my motherboard model is Dell 0F2A80. Then finally, I need to re-enable ACPI so XP can properly shutdown. Audio Controller Hardware ID PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0F04&SUBSYS_06901028&REV_0E Potential Solution? (Dell site lists audio driver as Realtek High-Definition Audio ALC290 Driver) https://www.realtek.cz/download-driver-nr-447-for-realtek-ALC290-and-WindowsXP-32bit.html PCI Encryption/Decryption Controller (Intel Trusted Execution Engine?) Device instance: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0F18&SUBSYS_06901028&REV_0E \2&EBB567F&0&D0 Hardware IDs PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0F18&SUBSYS_06901028&REV_0E PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0F18&SUBSYS_06901028 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0F18&CC_108000 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0F18&CC_1080 Graphics Hardware ID: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0F31&SUBSYS_06901028&REV_0E Something is not right on the computer...the computer has a tendency to lag for brief periods of time. More or less contemplating if I should just put XP on hold for a bit and just dualboot with 7 -
Installing Windows XP on Bay Trail-M CPU
FantasyAcquiesce replied to FantasyAcquiesce's topic in Windows XP
Thank you! Any tips of modifying will also be appreciated! I just realized my biggest issue is the Encryptor/Decrypter Controller. It's been causing annoying, brief moments of freezing and slowdown. The problem is there is only a Windows 7 driver at closest. The network and audio are the other two last concerns I used Snappy Driver Installer and it installed Bluetooth and USB 2.0 and 3.0 drivers (although the USB drivers had a missing entry point despite successfully installing) -

Installing Windows XP on Bay Trail-M CPU
FantasyAcquiesce replied to FantasyAcquiesce's topic in Windows XP
I stand corrected, the system still needs a bunch of improvements! Windows XP will only see 2 out of 4gb of ram, depends on a generic video driver, has really slow performance, needs an audio driver, get ACPI fixed, needs a wireless card driver, and apparently a floppy disk driver as well! The chipset driver especially is annoying! Despite this, the chipset driver and webcam appears to work perfectly xD In the worst case scenario, I could just use Vista or 7 instead and remove components. Maybe Linux, if this whole thing doesn't work out All driverpack suggestions will be highly appreciated! Auto, online, offline, or manual! -
Installing Windows XP on Bay Trail-M CPU
FantasyAcquiesce replied to FantasyAcquiesce's topic in Windows XP
It's indeed possible After two days ^o^ You will need the latest bios, these SATA drivers, CABARC or cabpack 1.4, NTLite, WinSetupFromUsb 1.8, Dietmar's ACPI.sys, and a flash drive https://www.win-raid.com/t22f45-Guide-Integration-of-Intels-AHCI-RAID-drivers-into-a-Windows-XP-W-k-W-k-CD.html (site where SATA drivers were found) 1. Press f2 while PC is booting and enable legacy mode, disable any other mode(s). Make USB the first to boot. 2. Get a Windows XP disc, copy out all files except for one that says "boot". 3. Obtain the ACPI.sys file, use cabpack 1.4 to convert the file into a LZX format archive. Then rename it to "ACPI.SY_" and replace original ACPI.SY found in the i386 folder. 4. Setup an NTLite installation for Windows XP, bundle the SATA drivers (Go to drivers folder, NOT the 64 one and click the inf file). Include all drivers 5. Once NTLite is done, use WinSetupFromUsb to create a bootable flash drive. 6. Auto format with FBinst, check add XP to disk, include the folder changed by NTLite. 7. Set pendrive, use in computer, but make sure to press f7 quickly after selecting XP installation. You will have to manually turn off the computer after the partition is set. It may freeze the first time booting afterward, but it's all good. Warning: eye-candy ahead No poor PC should be forced to run a bloated Vista/7/8/10 when there's a perfectly speedy XP Unfortunately, I don't think this will work with Windows 2000 because the drivers work on XP, but 2000. -
Installing Windows XP on Bay Trail-M CPU
FantasyAcquiesce replied to FantasyAcquiesce's topic in Windows XP
Another method I tried was pressing f5 and setting the computer to "Basic PC". I also tried pressing f7 to disable ACPI... Both took me a step further, but now I have a 0x0000007B error. Windows 8 is currently installed...is that causing the issue? I also cannot set BIOS to ATA instead of ACPI...
