Test completed, it syncs at specified interval normally when service is running. While daily would is good here in a sense that it keeps the clock relatively accurate, it makes tons of spam in event logs since internet connection is not always available. Interestingly, upping MinPollInterval as I did was actually necessary if I wanted once a week sync, only upping MaxPollInterval is not enough. The clock lags behind by about 1 second per day. What gives? Do all computers suck at keeping time? My rusty car is better at it than this damn computer. It's not the CMOS battery (depleted and removed few years back), it has constant standby power. The motherboard (Asus M3N78) was cheap though, so there's that. Edit: not sure where I got 1 second per day...this week it was about 4,2 seconds behind while previous week it was 5,2.

It probably depends on your needs. I'm out-of-the-loop, haven't done any coding in years. I remember Visual Studio 2008 GUI was the most pleasant in my eyes. This one won't do modern .NET though, 2.0 was enough for my needs back then. 2015 is the oldest version that targets current VC redist for native C/C++ stuff. Apologies for my rambling and not anything more specific. Code is PITA to figure out, never mind the bells and whistles of the development environment.

I got almost 50 MB since donation. Looks like I've attached mostly images in my earlier days here before I realized it's better to use external hosting. Wanted to migrate them all that are still attachments at some point, but haven't got around to it yet. For general file sharing, I tend to use Google Drive. I used Dropbox before for that purpose, before I realized one file I shared was too popular and it wouldn't download for people - Dropbox said it's generating too much traffic. Nobody complained though, probably because Dropbox download link wasn't the only one I shared.

Also noticed nobody tested it and put test results of it running under WINE in over a decade, the last are of the final official version by the original author. The program could be useful on other OS. I'm happy, it helped me access the web app at work on another server with the old rusty Basilisk browser and got the Edge to use local extension repository, so extensions don't update past the versions in there. Can read changelog in peace before updating them while they're installed normally, not via developer mode. Edge ignores my extension updates group policy settings.

This has to be the most bloated config file I've seen for any program using single simple human readable config file. It would take me forever to decipher what the heck they all do. It seems no rules means it behaves as simple pass-through, so can start from here and just add what I need. I went with SHA256 option here since it's the first one that no browser that I use complain about. BTW, any idea if Proxomitron can shows its own certificate warning page if you encounter the page that doesn't have its certificate in order? I figured I can have only certain URLs accessed via Proxomitron using Proxy Auto-Configuration (PAC) file, so can still get the browser itself to see the status of cert on target website (obviously no possibility of filtering on those sites). When I messed with the program few days ago, I remember seeing list of cached certificates on its status page, hence the question.

MSFN should show green with ISRG Root X1 installed into Trusted Root Certification Authorities folder in certificate manager. You can pick either der or pem variant under ISRG Root X1 (RSA 4096, O = Internet Security Research Group, CN = ISRG Root X1). I'd import it via mmc.exe -> manually add Certificates snap-in under File menu, where you pick Computer account in the wizard. When you right-click on Trusted Root Certification Authorities->Certificates->All Tasks->Import... and make it into file selection dialog, make it show files with all extensions to be able to select it normally. This is slower and tedious way, faster is using one of those certificate updaters you'll find somewhere on this forum (the one by heinoganda version 1.6 if I remember correctly should be OK), then you end up with a full pack of certificates Microsoft considers "trusted". Typical Windows installation has only some of them (unless you visit great many different websites using different certificates) as they're fetched by Windows when you browse the web as needed, but that hasn't worked in a long time on XP. And not all certificates work due to unsupported encryption algorithms.

The TV shall be repaired. I guess it'll be done by tomorrow or the next day.

Test booted into XP to see if the clock is correct after DST took effect and RealTimeIsUniversal is enabled. It is, but I guess it'll go back by 2 hours in about 1 hour. Edit: It did.

Indeed, though when you take some new extras for granted, it's hard to go back.

How do you people feel about DST? I've read USA is going permanent DST while Europe will continue to change clocks at least until 2026. Initially, it was supposed to end by 2021 or so, but I didn't catch what time would end up permanent. I think either two options above are bul***** and vote for permanent standard time. Daylight Stupid Time belongs in the history books.

The old one was about 500€ when new. First two TVs shown on one well known web shop here sell for 4800€, 65 and 75 inch Samsungs, 8K. How many streams even let you utilize that? Plus you'd need a big living room for such beast. There's only a small handful of things that are watched here, spanning through about 5 channels max. And mom has to watch news on two channels. Since digitalization, there's a crapload of channels, though some are locked and have to be paid for. There's about 147 of them that are supposed to work, even before digitialization analog cable TV here had about 50 of them if I remember correctly. Still way beyond enough IMHO. Who has time anyway? Maybe millionaires. I'm leaning more towards repair by default. It's a decent TV, maybe a bit slow to turn on and switch channels. Hopefully it's a small issue, though I kinda don't expect anything below 100€. Had a little exercise of putting the TV in my small VW Polo and out. Managed to put it on the back seats with a bit of difficulty (no back doors), with the stand still mounted. We'll probably take the bigger car for this one, it could use more exercise than it's getting.

There went the 42 inch LG LCD TV at home. Kinda unexpected, it's only 8 years old. Sound works, screen is dead. Will see how much they'll want for the service next week and whether we go that route or fork a bit more for a new one. The crapload of TVs they sell these days, holy moly! When the choice becomes the burden. Seems the 4K resolution, web browser and YouTube app is standard these days. The old one has some network connectivity, I guess to stream videos shared on the network. Apparently you could even Skype with it, it's not a smart TV though. I wanted to connect it to home network wirelessly once, but it didn't accept the password for some reason and never bothered to change the password to a shorter one to confirm if it's really the problem.

Some functions of ExplorerPatcher depend on features that still exist in Windows, maybe Win7 network flyout isn't one of those things. I believe we can call that Windows 8 Metro experience. That flyout isn't any different from the others UI wise.

StartIsBack++ brought the registry setting back for newer versions. ExplorerPatcher, originally developed for Windows 11, now also supports Windows 10 and has an option to turn on the old calendar.

Works down to Windows 10 1809. Generic non-Windows 11 specific enhancements should work. Maybe, but then you still have JS out there that Babel doesn't stomach and inline scripts in HTML and so on and so on. It's a holy mess.

Raiffeisenbank site loaded without syntax errors, cookie dialog popped up. So progress was made. Solution, transpile problematic JS files using Babel and save them on a local web server, then use a local proxy server to redirect requests to fetch JS files to transpiled versions on the local web server. This was a quick test, I haven't clicked any further on the site to see if anything else doesn't work and obviously can't login since I'm not the user of that bank. Modern few click programs at hand were used for the test, so IIS (Internet Information Services) that comes with Windows as the optional component as the web server and Requestly as the proxy server. The latter also exsists as Chrome/Firefox Web Extension, desktop app is really just Electron app... oughtta be doable with older solutions as well.
