Nvcheck is everytime fine, without flashed bios i wasnt able to boot with installed driver in anything else than 640x480x16colors Now we are doing somewhere.. I thing that i did, but as i said would be really great to some better checking utility to has to be sure, that similar switches are ok, pciscan and nvcheck are great but i could be much better.. Holy grail would be something like early 90s games setup.exe, which would had auto detection and check functions and simple Y/N logic.. This checker could be even started in autoexec start scanpci parse its results + from parameters (lits of patches which should be installed) it could check installed patches and reinstall it is something wrong or ask in Y/N logic user if he want some optimal switch like /m or split8MB etc.. Its not hard coding if checks could run in true dos and you have knowledge how to recognize patched or unpatched file and what configuration patch need to run properly..

And could you pleas describe some how to?

I did short test, boot into Dos prompt renamed some file a copied 50MB file is was fine, im even able to boot into safe mode, even there copy file was fine, i removed (purgehdc p a) Sata controller (only 1 is here), rebooted into normal mode, Sata controller was detected, reboot - c: writing problem - i have 215 MB free on HDD it is i hope enough for just boot..

Thanks for help, but Mixer (Smesovac in czech) is already here as you can see on the picture, there need to be something else, i really thing that it would be that proxy (there is lots of devices, but any difference between working and not working systems) I even removed and added mixer again, rebooted, nothing.. This normal mode, only removed and re-added devices are there ( why arent now hidden i dont know), in safe mode are more devices.

Im trying to something on old installation (installed with ACPI), but system devices often collide with ACPI Embedded somehing, ACPI Bios.. and ACPI IRQ something mutipletimes, but these devices are found only after Add new HW Wizard search, otherwise after System device removal and PCI bus addition they are not there.. but add new hw wizzard also find usefull devices after search.. and there are probably other ACPI related issues.

As i wrote on Intel controller Windows 98 running fine, i have tried Sata 5 -which i have deployed outside of case through pci bracket (it has 2 ports, 1 is connected to SATA5, second to A0, is good for testing, Intel has even working hotplug), it running fine, problem is related only to Asmedia controller and i want to use Asmedia because it could be in IDE mode forever.. Intel cant is used for other OSes, and if it would run on Asmedia and dont need to buy 1 more AHCIBIOS patch :), so i would keep Install and i will need to buy 1 more Sata patch.

Ok, i finally had some time to check few things and write about my AMD970 situation. Little summary machine is otherwise stable and running fine in WinXP and Windows 7, component are always the same. HW: 1) FX 8 core cpu + Asus M5A97 R2.0 - AMD970 board, last bios. 2) MSI 7950GT 512 MB PCI-E (i have two of them, tested both) 3) Soundcard CMI8738 PCI - no problems with soundcard on this setup, tried even different Soundcard in the process and no Nosound card or USB sound only. 4) Intel PCI 1 Gb/s NIC, detected as Intel 1000S MT desktop adapter (by other oses, official Intel last driver) Bellow is just 1 run of memtest picture without error, only 1 hour, but i ran whole day and was the was and my issues are consitent doent matters if is right after cold boot or after of 10 hours of running, its not wary. Storages are test, all ok. I have 3 setups (below) and problems one 2 you them - cleans install are pretty consistent, thring older migrated install has problem before i would able to simulate, same issues. A) Clean install, 40 GB HDD Seagate, WIn98 one and only partition on HDD. Sata patch - running fine. MEMpach and SPLIT installed, tested with or without System.in limiter to 1024 MB. NIC installed before Nvidia drivers - running fine. Nvidia card - installed last Errors appeared. NO HW conflicts. No USB drivers for just to be sure. NO USP3. State: Explorer errors related to Nvidia.dlls B) Clean install,Seagate 160 GB, testing 10 GB partion on start of disk, but for sure Terabyte pack, ATA patche installed, LBA48 is ok. Sata patch no issues. Himem.exe limited to 1024MB. NO HW conflicts. No issue unless is NIC installed. No USB drivers for just to be sure. NO USP3. State: Explorer errors related to Nvidia.dlls C) Migrated install, installed without /p i option - i didnt know that 5+ years, but except USB audios issues (fixable) was tested on 7+ boards.. ago. Czech Windows 98 SE, all other installation are ENG. SSD 120GB Intel 320 - first 10 GB for FAT32 Win98. Sata patch - running fine Patchmem (for to be sure limited to 1024 via System.ini), SPLIT8MB State: Machine running fine, unless is 1Gb NIC added, after that i cant even normal boot, bought RAM patch (SPLIT8MB) which should to fix it, but i never was able to boot after NIC driver installatiom. USP3 installed, USB stack removed to minimize issues, no HW conflicts.. With Intel 100S - slower NIC is running fine. Error is System protection error and in boolog is error about ESDI_506 when i add Intel NIC, i really dont know why, because otherwise Sata patch is running fine. But Nvidia related errors are there even without NIC driver installed, errors are the same.. ----------- D,E,F - had some memory cards in Sata or IDE adapters install to, it was all the same behavior.. nvidia dll erros, after all device drivers were installed.. I have Geforce 7800 256 MB on the way but it could take 2 weeks, after i would be able to test same setup without patched Nvidia driver. Bellow are Explorer errors related to Nvidia, are very often after 1 GB NIC drivers are installed. As i maybe wrote, i see 3 main reasons for my problems: 1) Unofficial Nvidia driver is really junk and not working on any computer, it was recommended for me here so i dont believe in it too much. 2) Something in the Nvidia patch need to adjusted /added to work with Intel 1000S MT Desktop (which could be in theory junk too, but i dont have any other on Nvidia driver to collide with it) I hope that someone understand Windows on ASM registry level and could say something about it.. A) 40GB pictures, some picture are blurry but originals are readable.. I still not had enough write to write proper and response, but i just isolated that problem is not ram patch, problem is combination of G7950GT patched driver + my Intel 1000 MT Desktop adapter NIC. I first time managed to make them boot (clean installation) together with himem.exe and its same as with Rloew ram patch, is Explorer is very unstable and all errors are nvidia dlls related.. No conflict in device manager, but something in that combination is really wrong. I will post some picture with error messages later. Games or other apps are working, but when i doing anything in explorer i dont have minute without error. I changed order of installation and installed NIC, Audio and first and videocard driver later and before it, all was fine. There is very small change that unofficial driver is really bugged and that i normal, but i dont want to believe that, because otherwise make fix for it does not make a sense and whole Geforce 7 512 MB Windows 98 GPU case would be dead end, so it has to be conflict with the patched driver..

I didnt i at least in this installation (back i did it for lots of others, because i never read dont do it, USP3 has own USB stack but is only optimal, you dont have to install it), i only pointed that such filename is also in the pack. I copied them, but search for driver or remove it was needed to redirection, i expected with this will be done during installation, but its only small problem, important is that infs are working great.. Whole OS power management is complicated, but could be just coded pure dirty ASM shutdown for fix to shutdown computer? I never got, what is it, is expected that is something like USB virtual device logic or something lie that, because is between USB controllers in device manager stuff. Im using KVM USB switch and USB audio cards are if im not work detected like USB composite device (HID + Audio) i dont know why. Summary for X99 build with this board- if there no other how to fix USB2 suggestion, is that it can work, but USB2 addon card is needed is probably the same as 2 Z97 MBs were i have very similar issues there. New Intel USB 3 /2 controller problematic even in never OSes and nUSB would probably need some adjustments to handle it properly.

Im not sure what all this means, could i just use Sata_A0 or Sata_A1 in IDE for Windows 98 and lets intel controller in AHCI mode and let all sata cables as they are? Here is picture which storage use which port.. Sintechi is Win 98 storage, WDC - need to stay on Asmedia controller too, becaue of Win XP GPT driver, which is not running on Intel controllers.

Check pleas Safe mode. Windows 98 SE has inbuild DirectX 6, there media class it should codec or some middleware between code / application and soundcard driver. There is multiple possibility how to play a sound on Windows 98SE, one of them is DirectSound and thats part of DirectX, it thing that it is default one.

In safe mode or normal mode? Because i wrote these devices are visible only in same mod and they are there i think even in clean installation without any soundcard..

When i installed nUSB 3.6 there not exclamation marks for USB devices, but at least USB audio is not working and i got 2 minutes waiting just for desktop icons, something is not right with USB.. About infs, except USB3 controllers, there is only device which were not recognized:

Thanks, i dont mind, im too old for it.. on nvidia forum they are just you guys, which should have every modern stuff include last windows update and reinstalling every week to one more FPS probably. So prolem is that i can get into Microsoft Basic Display Adapter device, i have always in device manager right second (primary /older) GPU name and vga driver used.. I did really much more experiments with Windows 7 and there should be something like Windows 7 trial, i installed it, but i situation was the same, but i dont feel comfortable or how say it with it.. Regardless i would like to see Microsoft basic adapters drivers details, which inf etc is used.
