  1. the main thing here is this... and id have to check my page history for good reviewing... what does this card do with DX10... i mean for 300bucks it WILL be quite a pain if doesn't support running well under dx10 (as that wil be the standard in about 1 and a half year from now... so you might want to look at that. cuze NFS will most likely be one of the first games to require dx10 (i think).
  2. 1 way would be to try and build them like a service pack (the way gurgelmeyer did with SP5 for windows 2000. BUT i have actualy NO F* idea what he does and how, - and i seams that he has health probs so he isn't only mutch. (or at all?) ... try looking at google, you may find some articals about it.... Add-on: RVM pack doesn't do the trick for him as im shure he doesn't want to force his clients to re-install windows ...
  3. if i only had sutch a system LOL but in the end it only would have about dubled the price for buying it... i found that my computer (to have the exact same specs ans my current machine but with 2 instead of 1 cpu would have cost me over 400 euro extra... (E500- x 1.25 = $625 usd) so i as, why the hell would have such money but is unwilling to spend the extra $$ on software... as even the a low-budget quad-core machine (4x 1.8ghz) is way beyond any requirements for a home office pc... unless you want to build yourself a realtime airplain sim in your hobby-room...
  4. there will be NO 4x4 boards for s939 as AM2 is the new desktop oriented chip also there are no opteron chips for s393 in the 2xx or 8xx series and the 1xx series like my 165 (x2) doesn't even support hypertransport. so either you wait for AMD2 4x4 - or go for dual opteron 256 on s940 but hey if you have the > $.$$$,- cash... example for a current "4x4 like" -sys Opteron 256 (s940) / 2x 1,8ghz / 2x 1mb cash / max 2cpu's on a board Euro: 350 (total 700) _______ mainboard: Tyan Tiger K8W (S2875) (2x s940 / APG / Firewire / SATA raid Up to 8gb DDR via intergrated grafics) Euro 250 (total 250) Or Tyan Tiger K8WE (S2877) (2x s940 / Nforce chipset / Firewire / PCI-e x16 / SATA-II - up to 24 gb dual channel ram / ATI Rage XL grafics) Euro 275 (total 275) __________ and to be honnest i dont thing a 4x4 option based on AM2 or Socket F wil cost mutch less.
  5. oke here is the deal... 3 steps... 1. get yourself a hacked sfc_os.dll (i guess you already have one). 1b. find out where all instances of this file a stored in your os, it should be in system32 AND system32\dll-catch if im not mistaking... 2. boot from your windows xp install cdrom, 2b. go to the recovery / repair consol 2c. you should now be at a dos-like box, were it asks you to witch windows you want to log on to... 2d. log in as administrator (or any user with that privs). 3 now copy + replace sfc_os.dll to all locations where you found it in step 1b... >>> reboot and start windows as usual ....

    Windows Vista Support

it sounds like many of you agrea that the vista core os might be oke, but the many bells and wistles are a pain. that why iv already chosen my vista flavor about 9 (or so) months befor its actualy in shop.... its home basice x64 for me, and media center you aks?? ow well il just have to stick with MediaPortal so realy no earo for me..
  7. i know that stuff like litestep, and the likes can do that, but it is told on these forums about a milioen times and i realy didn't feel like telling it for the 1-milion-and-1th time
  8. Nuhi In your release notes you spoke of a new start (discusion) on getting a new list of features for the next generation of nlite... so here is mine... (in a bit more details). as we a know, nlite has now several features to 'manage' driver support on our customized windows. we can: remove device drivers (vga sound printers lan etc). remove device support add our own drivers and thats about it... but i think there are about a milion posibillities to explore and think about. so lets have a look at them. my favorite is the graet work done by: Bâshrat the Sneaky what he did was awsom, but his ways are not fuly automated and even worse is, there are pretty mutch NOT Gui based. So what would i suggest wat i would like to see is 1: the current way of "driver removal options" removed from the component removal window. 2: the option of adding drivers to the cdrom (but without the limitation that they have to be used / installed). so more like the bts way.... b: the ability to "import" driver sets 3: the option of removing drivers sorted by type AND manufacturer. so i can keep al vga drivers of brand x and y but removing support for brand z 4: the abilitie of selecting drivers to install like the current driver slipstreamer) but relocated to the driver management section 5: all of the driver related options to a single window with a tab for each task... so youd end up with.... what do you want to do [add a service pack] [managed system drivers] [remove components] [ addons & hotfixes] [create iso]
  9. to my best recolection this isn't the first time you have asked this... and a search on this forum would also tell you that many before you have asked this already .... but in a single plain and simple answer: NO YOU CAN NOT
  10. [rant] First i wanna say hi to all... its tuesday night and im terribly board, there aren't mutch topics of my intrests on this board this eve so i kinda got lost and ended up here. But what realy struck me what thate the office part of these forums is just about MS office.. Aren't Open Office (that also work realy good on windows) or any of the other office suites like Wordperfect or Lotus good enought to be listed here as equals to Microsoft Office and wouldn't this forum be the place to look if i wanted to know How i could add a databace query to a Open Document speadsheet even though i eknowledge that Office has a far bigger market share (if you dont count corporate use: > mostly because of the illigal coppies at home) i still wanted to point this out, feadback appreciated.....
  11. intel and Nvidia (most used SATA / II ) both have x64 support drivers but nvidia's aren't WHQL'd yet (or atleast not the last time i checked). but printer scanner drivers May be a prob, check google first..
  12. the search bar in Firefox Google Wikipedia IMDB Dictionairy dot com and a few others.... (stil havn't found an Astalavista plugg-in though (i realy wonder why LMAO).
  13. euh didn't MS intent to (instead of building new iso's) release a monthly update ????
  14. congrats Nuhi FINE JOB!!!! [my feature request]... > better intergration of Nlite and DriverPacks... an option were we can add drivers to the instal like in driver packs but also tell it witch to keep and witch to lose. for example only have all drivers supported for NVIDIA or SIS chipsets and lose ATI, intel and VIA (or the other way around). or only keep lan drivers from 3com and losing the rest.... well you get my point... i think nlite could real benfit from deleting only parts of certain driversets..
  15. probably givving the link (url) you your site is a good idea also the websites the banner/s is/are placed on coud be of value so people dont get a realy ping banner on a lets so al white and grey website (casue that stinks)
  16. vista helps (a small bit:P) if you disable all the 'goodies <throughup>' its a quite nice to play with OS
  17. i didn't say deleting (as that can get unexpected bugs). but replacing them with a far less using resource (could) do the trick for xp users. but your right about 2k3, so thats not an option. so idead people should just do it themselves (if problems happen)
  18. the upload spead only counts if you want to do stuf like MSN (webcames) or stuf like voice over IP. else normal data rates are about 1kb of requite data Per 10kb of downloads. so in the end you'd only benetif if you send losts of Email or use webcame / voip stuf on your computer....
  19. if you want to know this, get the original file from a hotfix or something and look at it... in reshacker / or resedit in your version there should be 3 versions of all resources > one for XP Home > one for XP Pro > and one for Wistler Server what i usualy do is replaceing all resources for xp server with a tiny 8color bitmap resource (that has no real content) that will at least save you the first Meg or so... Q: @Xpero (cant you make that so for all files that get patched) - even though it might take some extra time to patch it will help save some filesizes.... btw - what do you guys think about my mini XPized logo... 96x25 px - 2,77KB - ext. JPG its entirely created in paint.NET and took me about 10 mins to get it right...
  20. there is an easy php installer (that can auto configure php to work in apache 1.3x and 2.0x there ar also many apache + php packages. some also come with mysql and phpmyadmin (for database management).
  21. A that is only contains the hotfixes (not the windows slipstreamed source) B that is only avail for users with a SA licence C it will in most cases not contain Case-Specific Fixes what he means is if we get a new SP5 release and the answer is ........... (i hope so )
  22. you actualy dont realy nead a website for that, (other than for promoting your station) what you nead is Windows Media / Real Player / MP3 streaming. or Pod Casting there ist lots of software to do that, but in general youd nead a professional Streaming Host for it as every conected user take about 100KB of Bandwidth.
  23. standerd operating procedure. A: is your boot cequence in your bios correct. Should be <CDrom> <hdd> <whatver> B: was your ISO valid against the MD5 checksum Microsoft provided?? ------------- its not recomanded to format your current windows install, if you have sufficiant space on an other partition (that may be formated).
  24. seams to me that this is just yet another of Microsofts mallicious ways of installing hotfixes it has probably to do with the SP installer itself or maybe one of the Outlook Express updates. probably is quite normal (yikes) from MS' point of view. but i realy find this strange as well,
  25. by the way... if you knew anything about programming, you wouldn't have stated this, because fixing buggs is not about adding extra lines of code to put glue in a hole, but rather instead they rewrite the faulty code, did you even know that 1 of the biggest causes of bugs is that programmers had previously added a feature that didn't quite fit, also any profesional would audit his code quite a few times per lifecycle. thus making the code smaller more efficient and thus faster...
