Thanks, there is a little bit of transparency but Aero Glass isn't a requirement really for this theme unless you want to use Black glass enhanced, that program gives the entire window transparency and is ideal for dark themes and will only work in combination with Aero Glass.

Using a mouse, if you bring the bar in from the top the icons are positioned towards the top, if you bring the bar in from the bottom the icons are positioned towards the bottom, I have not tested but I imagine if I was on touch you would bring the bar in from the side and the icons would be central. This way makes more sense but it did look nicer on 8 with it always centered.

(just to do so before anyone else asks that ) jaclaz Well actually this theme is part of a series that I have on Windows 7 that is available now, but it is not a free theme, I do make many free themes but I also have my own website http://virtualcustoms.net and this is one of my Premium themes that i will be selling in my shop to help support the site, the HUD Machine Windows 7 themes sell for $4.95 US but for Windows 8 I will be making them less, probably only $2.95, mostly for the fact Windows 8 needs to have support from 3rd party developers like Tihy for the start menu and Big Muscle for Aero, plus there are other mods like my Details pane mod that breaks the app store. Not to mention that Windows 8 will keep updating every year so most likely the theme will have to be updated every new Windows 8 update release, as far as a release date goes, well this is one of 5 colors and I still have work to do on this one as well as the other 4 that I have not even started on, so hopefully within a couple of months for the whole series but I may release this one earlier when I am happy with it's completion.

Thought I would start a thread for members to show off there Windows 8.1 desktops Here is my Windows 8.1 desktop with my HUD Machine Red theme. Using Start Is Back by Tihy and Aero Glass by Big Muscle, Ribbon Disabler and also My shell32.dll Details pane mod to bring back the details pane, plus many other changes with my HUD Machine Icons and extras Pack. This theme is not available yet so don't ask where to get it.

Yes I am using my license to automatically download them.

No it's not up to me where you post your rant, but if you want BM to read it then it would be better posted in the Aero Glass thread he created and of course it's free, you didn't have to pay to download it and there is no time limit or expiry of the program, how is that not free? Like I said already, just contact BM by PM preferably, tell him your problem and what hardware you changed and he will sort you out with a new code, it's that simple, but maybe you don't like things simple, maybe you just like to make a drama out of nothing.

It's not the same in the BETA for 8.1, he will add that feature back later but for now you need to rename it to ThemeAtlas.png and put it in the AeroGlass folder.

For starters this is the wrong thread, if you contact BM he will be more then happy to reset your keys so you can get new ones if you provide him with a transaction ID of your Paypal donation, as far as asking for your money back, well that is just stupid as he has never said it was a paid program, it has and always be free to use, you chose to make a donation to receive the key that disabled the donation popup screen that only appears once per logon, so you can understand why asking for money back seems a little bit strange, considering this guy has spent months of his life to bring back this feature for everyone for free. Stop being so ungrateful and maybe just consider it may be worth it to donate another $3 to get a new license.

I use Photoshop to edit my version of the RP theme, you could give it a go if you like.

I tried Start Screen Color Tuner on Windows 8.1 but couldn't get the Accent color to change, my version is not activated so that is probably the reason but I found a way to change it by adding another default color setting. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Accent] "StartColor"=dword:ff000000 "AccentColor"=dword:ff0000ff [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Accent] "DefaultStartColor"=dword:ff000000 "DefaultAccentColor"=dword:ff0000ff for some reason though instead of ARGB the color is ABGR "Alpha, Blue, Green, Red so ff0000ff gives the color red.

Yep same bug seen here, flickering when opening a new window and taskbar looses blur when you minimize but returns when you move another window over it.

Not been able to test that yet as I think you need an activated OS for the App store don't you? Edit: just restored the shell32.dll and still have the same error, I think this is an activation problem, if you already had the apps installed on a Windows 8 account I think those apps get installed but it wont let you install any new apps until you have genuine or KMS activation, anyone else able to confirm this?

That's because Vista had a stronger reflection image, you can open the DWMGlass.dll and replace the png image with the one from Vista attached. Awesome, thank you! --edit-- Still looks different than vista/windows7 stripes, the distance between them, dunno... Yeah your right, I would say that's more the way BM has implemented it, I know he is still working on getting it right, I'm sure he will figure it all out. here is a preview on 8.1 with my own custom reflection image.

OK that's good to hear, I think the aero stripes implemented through the DWMGlass.dll works pretty good as it is, it would be great if it could some how be added back to the theme atlas but I think that may be hard to do, at least with the glow image it was already semi working anyway and at least the theme atlas already supports it. I am sure you will figure out the best way to proceed though, keep up the great work and thanks for the reply

Good work BM, is there any chance you could fix the caption glow so it reads from the stream image if you are not using the glow image, at the moment if you remove the glow.bmp there is a glow there but it is using some strange properties instead of the DWM images, the glow color is taken from the global settings Fonts, Colors, & System Metrics > Colors (Globals) > GlowColor and the glow Intensity is being taken from the DWM Window property, Windows & Caption Buttons > Aero > Window > GlowIntensity = 305, I have not been able to find where the text glow size property is been read from though.

Thanks got the beta now, I figured out how to get it after I posted that anyway, just thought I would mention it though so you could update your site. Looking good as far as I can see so far, is there anything in particular you would like us to test? Here is a screen of how it looks now with a new theme I made, it's an imported Windows 7 theme that I have modified and removed all the round corners, also modified the caption buttons and brought back the glow effect.
