This wont be a standard feature, I have asked for it though and it will be implemented in a different way, it will be theme specific and be implemented in the way of modified UI files in shellstyle.dll so if a custom theme uses custom navigation panes for the control panel they will be applied with the theme, this will also be the same for other theme specific changes, so if you have a topshell theme (details pane on top) then you can add the custom UI files to the shellstyle.dll and it will be applied with the theme as shown in the image below.

Hey BM any luck figuring out a fix for the margins on the caption text yet?

Nice work BM, the reflection image loads great now with the new registry setting, shame you can't have a similar option for the old glow image as well, at least the margins worked with that one, just wondering though if the problem is more to do with the content margin and not the sizing margin, the Windows 7 Content margin for the glow is 17, 17, 8, 10. One request though, can you make the Custom theme Atlas load only with the default aero theme, the same as it was with the Windows 8 v1.2 glass? well I looked on my Windows 8 setups and it's still the default HOSTS file, it may be Spybot S&D or Malwarebytes that updated it, more likely it was Spybot S&D immunization setting.

I use Microsoft Security Essentials on Windows 7, the same as Windows defender that is now default in Windows 8, I have used MSE since the first BETA and never had a problem, so I can only assume that MSE is the one updating it, this may also be the case with Windows 8 when not using an alternative Anti Virus program.

It says in that article that the Hosts file will usually have very little in it, well I just looked at mine and it has over 15 thousand sites listed in it, I was thinking of doing this but now I am not so sure I want to touch it, if the list had been small like it was in one of the old backup files I would have but this file has already been updated by MS a couple of times, the last time being the 3rd of the October 2013.

No this can not be done with the registry or the theme file, the only way is with Aero Glass

The problem is Windows 8, when you apply a new theme with different system metrics they don't get applied, in Windows 7 these were all changed with the theme so you could have different size borders and caption buttons, the only solution is manually edit the system metrics in the registry. Here you go, save this as a .reg file and apply, you will need to log off to take effect. My version of the RP theme

Thanks man i love this theme. I have a question it is possible to add a bit of blue and red like windows 7? Like this picture: EDIT: Is not working the theme! On my computer with windows 8.1 and with all the windows updates it does not work because no difference after applying. With my vmware with windows 8.1 and no windows update installed it works .. Here the problem! The theme need update. The theme will work on 8 and 8.1 but you need uxstyle to use custom themes or aero glass with theme signature bypass enabled. This theme also needs to have start is back installed for the start menu and jump list to work correctly.

My version of the CP theme, it's a bit of a mix with most things squared off to match the frame style and also has a few bits from the RTM theme as well to give it a better flow. Another way to remove that is using a blank font, it will remove the text on all windows as well as the box. Here you go mate I made one for you with the blank text and also made another with white text, there are also 2 reg files included for the system metrics, that is very important to apply as they don't work in Windows 8 when you change themes, they keep the system metrics from the default aero theme unless your using Windows Style Builder and then they get applied, I also included my own shellstyle.dll, you can rename the old one if you prefer no folderband, although by the looks of it in your screen you don't disable the ribbon anyway so you wont see it either way. Do you mean remove the background behind the address/search bar in explorer like it was in the consumer preview and Windows 7, yeah that would be great, maybe this is something to add the Explorer improvement program he is going to start work on.

Yeah I noticed that opening a few windows seems to impact performance a fair bit as well, plus not sure if it's glass or my modified system but had a few explorer restarts, no error message, just all windows closed, screen went black and then restarted.

I see your not allowing us to have our own reflection image now, adding our own now stops aero from working.

You need 3 files, UIRibbon.dll, UIRibbonRes.dll and UIRibbon.dll.mui, just tried it and it worked.

Downloaded fine for me just now.

I made a couple of new reflection images, sort of based on the default ones but a bit sharper, I also made one 200% the size, the result is much a smoother looking reflection with no jagged edges. 802x604 Original Size 1604x1208 200% Size You will need to edit the DWMGlass.dll to replace the reflection image if you want to give them a go. Could also be that new NVIDIA 331.58 driver, I have been reading the comments over there and lots of people are having problems with it, that's why I am sticking with my old trusted 314.22 the last driver that doesn't cause problems for my GTX580. Well considering you didn't actually mention what type of bugs and why on earth you would have to reinstall windows, one must only assume you posted this comment just to Troll Tihiy's awesome work and promote your crappy Startmenu8. I think the admin may need to give this guy the boot.
