  1. Windows doesn't allow you to Remote Desktop to an account without a password for obvious security reasons.
  2. XP Pro has some extra "toys" which Home doesn't. I still prefer Win 2000. What the Hell are you installing? My XP "Windows" folder is no more than 1.5Gb. What else do you have which uses 2.0Gb??
  3. The "AutoComplete" settings are in Tools>Internet Options>Content.
  4. Go to Windows Explorer, click on Tools>Folder Options, click on the View tab, scroll down and un-tick "Use simple file sharing (Recommended)", click OK. You now have access to the Security tab
  5. I have tried 1 or 2 ciggies in my youth during drunken stupors, but it was still revolting!
  6. Click on File>Save As, and in "Save as type" select PowerPoint Show (*.pps).
  7. There's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't be able to install and run Office 2000 on an XP machine.
  8. I'm having similar problems but with different hardware, I'm going back to a wired network. My wireless network simply isn't reliable enough!
  9. According to my Google search, you have to use a 3rd party application. I'm surprised that Microsoft haven't done something about this.
  10. Apologies if my assumption was wrong, but I assumed that the software would also allow incoming connections. It would seem that this is not the case.

  13. Windows XP has "Remote Assistance"; works well enough for me. You have to enable it though, right-click My Computer, select Properties, click the Remote tab, select "Allow Remote Assistance invitations to be sent from this computer".

  16. Try cleaning the CD, and maybe cleaning the lens of your CD-ROM drive. Failing that, maybe you've got a faulty CD?

  22. An IP address of 169.254.x.x means that your DHCP server is not available. Can you ping your DHCP server? Is it configured and authorized correctly?

  25. Freaky, I've never known RDP to disconnect an Internet connection!
