XP Pro has some extra "toys" which Home doesn't. I still prefer Win 2000. What the Hell are you installing? My XP "Windows" folder is no more than 1.5Gb. What else do you have which uses 2.0Gb??
Go to Windows Explorer, click on Tools>Folder Options, click on the View tab, scroll down and un-tick "Use simple file sharing (Recommended)", click OK. You now have access to the Security tab
Windows XP has "Remote Assistance"; works well enough for me. You have to enable it though, right-click My Computer, select Properties, click the Remote tab, select "Allow Remote Assistance invitations to be sent from this computer".
