As far as the software, it is probably just a freak of nature that it just so happened when you installed that software, it was probably going to happen anyway. Do you have a surge suppressor where your computer is plugged in. Maybe you are having power surges. Do you have a UPS. Maybe getting one of those may help.

I had an issue like this before, check your drive mappings. I had two cd roms on my computer and when I changed the drive letters to say L: and M:, then when I put the stick in, it took the letter D: and all worked fine. Just a thought. B)

not sure on how to do what you are asking, put if you go to your ftp.server site you can just rightclick on the page and do Logon As and enter your credintals. Another alternative is you can use a program called FILEZILLA (which is free) to do all your ftp needs. It is very handy and easy to use. Hope this helps.

Download MS Antisypware and install and run it. Remove anything it finds. Also run like registry mechanic on your registry to look for errors to try and clean up those spaces. Then let us know what you found.

That is starange indeed. First thing I would try is I would update my anti virus software and run a full scan. I would also run spyware software to see if there is any of that on my computer. You could use the new Microsoft antispy beta or adaware or sypbot search and destroy. After you have done this get back with us and we can try some other things.

you could create a shortcut on your desktop using this. C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe -s -t 01 and then double click on it to see if it shuts down.

Well I have been using Spybot search and destroy and also Adaware SE, and the new Microsoft Antispy. Out of all three Microsoft seems to catch the most for me.

Go to Tools and then Options. Go to View tab and under Show untick Startup Task Pane. and for the toolbars: Go to View the Toolbars and untick the ones you do not want to see.

have you tried updating your anti virus definitions and running a full system scan. Also download and intstall Microsoft Antispyware Tool Beta and run it, it help clean my computers very well.

I have done this by booting windows in command prompt only opiton and running the bios file from there. Some thing else you could try is make a bootable cd with dos files on it, and copy the bios file to that same cd and boot with it and run the file.

what I would do in your case, is use Norton ghost corp edition to make a ghost image of the computer, once I have that image on another computer (say laptop.gho) I would just format the laptop and start over with that. Then using ghost explorer I would copy the information in question back to the laptop off the ghost image.

I use the klite codec pack full install. Works for me.

with that error you may have gotten a virus that erased the hard drive, like the chynobal virus or the operation system NT got corrupt. It could be that the hard drive is bad too.

Download Broadcom NDIS Driver and unzip and use the file B57.dos for the ghost disk. Once you do that make sure and change your protocol.ini file located in your boot disk under the NET folder to read: [NIC] drivername = B57$ Notice the spaces and the B has to be in CAPS. That should do it. You can PM me if you need more help. What version of ghost are you using.

I use sp2 on most computers that I use. I also install xp with sp2 on all the computers that I redo for extra cash. I have not expieranced any problems with it as of yet really, but I have heard of a few people that have issues with it.

I installed it an ran a scan, it found about 18 more than Adaware SE Pro. cool
