  1. try downloading media player 10 and installing it again, there is really no means of installing media player 9 after 10 has been installed. That may solve your problem. Media player 10 probably got installed with SP2 is my guess. Also for buring your cd's you can use nero or roxio for that.
  2. have a look Microsoft Page
  3. saw something like this before too about a couple of months ago, I had to slow down the processor from 2.3 to just 2.0 and it fixed the problem too.
  4. have you tried partition magic, I think it comes with boot magic.
  5. I just installed this and went to the collections and right clicked on it and created a new collection without any problem. Try uninstalling it completely, restarting and then re-install the program, then restart again and then run the program. hope this helps.
  6. try using the program Tweak UI that comes with power toys that you can download from microsoft. Then go to Taskbar and uncheck the Enable balloon tips.
  7. Download and install power toys for windows xp from microsoft web site and then run the Tweak UI program. Once in there go to Explorer and then remove the check mark from Show Links on Favorites Menu
  8. Install said program, then right click on the shortcut that starts the program and click on properties. then click on the Compatibility Tab and click on Compatibility mode and choose one, windows 95 or 98/ME would work probably. To boot windows in dos mode, Hit the F8 key before windows boots up and then choose windows in command prompt only. In windows XP you should not have to use the files and buffers, but if you do then just create a config.sys file in the root of windows and enter your settings there. Or you could right click on the my computer icon and then do properties and then click on the Advanced Tab and then click on Environment Variables and enter the info there.
  9. IBM has software that you can download that does this. You could also create a ghost image using Norton Ghost and then use Partition magic to hide the partition.
  10. or just right click on your taskbar and then select Task Manager.
  11. if you are using msn messenger 6 and above you can go to options and then on the Personal tab uncheck the two items under my status.
  12. like you mean in dos mode, have you looked at ntfs pro.
  13. Might be a long shot but if you have another user where they work, copy there sendto folder from there documents and settings folder to your document and settings folder.
  14. In the US you can call Microsoft at 800-936-4900 and they can direct you in the right direction. There are also tools that you can search for on goole to get your password. I can not tell you about them here. If you PM me maybe I can help you.
  15. you may not have too but you may have issues. If you are going to go through the trouble of doing a repair, you might as well do a new install I say. Much better that way.
  16. Try some of those uninstaller programs, they monitor all the files they install and make backup of those it replaces. Monitors all changes when programs get installed so that they can be uninstalled correctly.
  17. Try doing the full screen, and then click on File and then Close, sometimes that helps for me.
  18. I would have to agree with you. I do not know how they allow things like this to happen. This is pushing the limits too high in my opinion. Ban the so called GAME!
  19. If you install exchange 2003 on a Server 2003, and install the Service pack for exchange, you could use computers running windows xp to get to the email accounts that you set up. You would have to use a mail client to access the mailboxs for example you could use Microsoft Outlook, just configure it to get the mail from Exchange. There is extensive help on this at Microsoft. Look for white papers on how to set it up. Hope this answers your questions.
  20. been a long time since I installed windows 2000, do you have and example of what the page looks like, take a picture of it with a digital camera.
  21. You could use the copy of your CD to isntall on there computer, then when it asks for the CD Key tell them to type the one on the side of there computer and not your cd key.
  22. make sure you have accept cookies turned on or it can not save your passwords log on.
  23. in the repair concole mode you could copy that file back from your cd I believe.
  24. have you tried right clicking on the link and clicking on save target as. Also you could right click on it and say copy link, open a new page and pasteing the stuff there and see if that helps. I have to do this sometimes on some pages.
  25. I do not think so, but if you tried and it worked, things would not run too good. You need to backup your data and then do a fresh install of server 2003. Why do you want to upgrade. I assume you know server 2003 is not really meant to work like a workstation.
