  1. I usually just use alt+PrtScn too
  2. Jeremy keep an eye on the Lapwing project over at liberta-project.net and PortableApps.com There is an RC2 you can grab @ SourceForge. "Wrap" built on "Reg Rapper" also works. And in Sandboxie you can view the contents of registry.dat with the following command: regdump.exe registry.dat > registry.txt
  3. not sure how accurate this information is... http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=321444

  9. um but you could still drag and drop the files off the cd into a folder and burn a new cd i think.
  10. 17 indeed, thats just disgusting!
  11. if you have a directx9 video card and MPC (media player classic) you can rotate/resize the video in 3d. [edit] i believe there is also an option in FFDshow for this.

  15. Thats not HD! I got a higher quality video of the same trailer (forgot where) that is @ 1280x720, aka 720p or 'real HD' and it is 114mb.
  16. 17 processes for a single program!? how'd you achieve that? I'd like to see a screenshot Although If I remember correctly Norton I.S. had 12 and BitDefender had 8, so I guess its possible...
  17. Any CD/DVD can be copied very easily. All you can do (if feasible) is limit distribution, that is you carry around the only copy. Maybe encrypt the backup image too. BTW its easy to disable AutoRun.
  18. what do you want to encrypt? files/folders/partitions/diskdrives/emails/etc? I use TrueCrypt and KeePass for my encryption needs http://www.truecrypt.org/ http://keepass.sourceforge.net/
  19. if you've lost some actionscript and need it back...
  20. I havent seen anyone else mention it yet but I am curious as to what others think about increasing the cluster size to reduce fragmentation. Aegis also mentioned in the software forum defrag topic using alternative filesystems. Preventing fragmentation is better than defraging. BTW I used the wizard in Acronis DiskDirector to convert the cluster size of partitions because it will show much much space will be wasted with the respective increases.
  21. @Aegis hmm thats something Ive not considered. So XP for example could read a partition with a different filesystem say HFS+ or XFS? Would that require additional software? And what filesystem would you reccomend? [edit] from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XFS
  22. this one is expensive but does a lot http://www.sothink.com/product/flashdecompiler/
  23. well that is true, but you can also set %ProgramFiles% to another partition letter with WINNT.SIF [Unattended] ProgramFilesDir="D:\Program Files" CommonProgramFilesDir="D:\Program Files\Common Files"
  24. I keep my windows partition at 5 GB or less so its image sizes are small and the backup/restore process is fast (about 1 minute). I keep all the other programs and data on other partitions. Been computing like that for a few years now and wouldnt go back
