Portable Clamwin (anti-virus) and Winpooch (firewall) are about it I made a guide on how to configure winpooch as a software firewall here http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=68523
The Fedora releases have pretty much always been on time give a day. Yeah I've had issues with the Test releases before BTW Screenshots from FC6 T2 http://shots.osdir.com/slideshows/slidesho...t+2+screenshots
Google Spreadsheets is the worst unforunately, I only use it because it uses my google login and it is still faster than opening OO Calc. However I am really impressed by Zoho Sheet in particular, and I am patiently waiting for Google to release Writely again. Despite all that I am sure Portable OpenOffice will always be on my hard drive, because I can therefore always have my documents and the files will always be open format and private if need be. What I would really like to see is AbiWord and GNUmeric get a little bit better
Well I think Blue-ray is overkill anyway. HD-DVD has enough storage for our future 1080p movies, plus those discs can contain a layer that can be played back in current DVD players. One nice thing about Blue-ray is supposedly the DVD menus can be more sophisticated. But that is OT.
Well the PS3 might be a bargain if you're looking for a Blue-ray DVD player, which is really only true if you already have a HDTV and big bucks to spend. I think I'll just get the Wii since I mainly game on the PC.
no surprises there imo. I still have to look into what these Cable Cards are though, I just read all about HDCP, HDMI, 1080p, LCD, DLP, yadda yadda yadda recently
gMail + gCal + gSpreadsheet + .... I have been using Portable OpenOffice for almost a year now, but lately I've been doing everything using 'gApps' etc. For spreadsheets also checkout iRows and Zoho Sheet.
Just FYI most people dont need a power supply past 200W. My PC for example (see sig) uses around 83W with CnQ (cool and quiet) on the low and around 120W when taxing the system, and I am overclocking the thing 20%. The focus should be on PSU Efficiency unless you have several drives and grahics cards. The more you know
WOW I want one! That said I would really like to see more "external graphics cards" for laptops and sff pc's where cooling, space, and power are often a problem. Also why are they bragging about running Google Earth on this? This will probably be under the reccomended requirements for UT2007
doing a clean install vs an upgrade is not something I mind doing, in fact it often saves time in the long run by avoiding future problems. Although I would agree these upgrade paths are a bit confusing. Of course Vista has to improve greatly from its recent builds before I even consider installing it on my computer
I am sure they wish this could make them $350 million, though that wont happen I am sure they'll get something out of this. Maybe they will just have more betas now? As for bandwidth costs its a ridiculous excuse in this age of torrents.
1. "winkey+r" 2. There is a way to show the 'classic panel' i think its an advanced button somewhere. I found it when I was trying to disable cleartype.
I usually start by looking at NewEgg because they have a wide seletion and alot of reviews. But I also check: zipzoomfly.com chiefvalue.com monarchcomputer.com pricewatch.com froogle.google.com fatwallet.com slickdeals.net Ive also shopped at mwave and ewiz before.
This is an oldie but excellent free program. Can Windows even show a 256px icon? That would probably be a huge file too. I did post about this before too http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...&hl=aveicon
