Does anyone know how long vista takes to Build?
DigeratiPrime replied to nightwolf81's topic in Windows Vista
I am sure they use a super computer to do it so they can rapidly test it. -
you can have windows "virtualize" the swap file into system memory by going to: system Properties>Advanced>Performance Settings>Advance>*Change* Virtual Memory>*set* "No Paging File". As long as you have at least 1GB of memory you will probably be ok. I use this and everything works without problems, and Windows is more responsive.

Well I think the best method is to have Firefox automatically send a torrent to an external program (e.g. µTorrent). But there are some extensions that might interest you: FirePuddle http://firepuddle.mozdev.org/ MozTorrent http://moztorrent.mozdev.org/ AllPeers https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/3234/ µTorrent WebUI http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=14565 Flash uTorrent Web Interface http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=13694

For XP you can use Limited User accounts with the "Run As" command. There is also "RunAsAdmin Explorer Shim" https://sourceforge.net/projects/runasadmin Or Winpooch http://winpooch.free.fr/page/home.php Vista will use UAC (User Account Control) by default. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Account_Control

Frozen C: drive, common files help.
DigeratiPrime replied to breadandbubbles's topic in Software Hangout
not sure I exactly understand your question but here goes: Application Data is found in you can jump directly to the appdata folder for the current user by opening the run window (winkey+r) and entering %appdata% then enter. Likewise you can try searching (winkey+f) for µTorrent appdata files such as "settings.dat". I reccomend making µTorrent "portable" or "self-contained" consult the FAQ http://www.utorrent.com/faq.php#How_can_I_...ovable_drive.3F http://www.utorrent.com/faq.php#How_can_I_...ser_profiles.3F -

What software are you using to synchronize your mp3s?

Well just to add to what I said, I create 'FLAC images' with the combination I mentioned above. A FLAC image is a single .flac file that contains all the tracks from the cd, and can also contain embedded cuesheet and tags. So this is the #1 audio backup solution imo because it is very organized and will also enable you to burn back the exact original cd with the cuesheet. Other people might prefer to rip each track to its own file and still keep the cuesheet. As for playback I know Foobar can play files with embedded cues and breaks it up into individual tracks in the playlist. I am using XMPlay though which will show it as a single long track in the playlist but you can right-click on next button and it will jump to the next "subsong" and show it in the title. BTW the next release of FLAC coming out very soon will also support embedded jpgs. So I envision its possible that the cover art could be displayed as a thumbnail in explorer. As for a free alternative to AnyDVD you can try DVD43 http://www.dvd43.com/

sounds cool Jeremy, I am considering making a sticky in this forum with a list of software guides, for example what you're talking about, if there are enough of em. I am going to try and put together a MPC/FFDshow guide soon, just too much information
