  1. It was more "not true" to jaclaz's post hence why I wrote what I got with "liting 7" as for result, I think your main mistake is that you use RTM and then integration of SP 1 I always find it better to use already integrated SP 1 in OS by MS as base source for editing at least that way nothing wrong can happen unlike via integrating via other tools as for slimming down, you can always chose what you really need and what not I can give you my RT7 configuration if you want to check it out but I noticed you use 64bit OS and I use 32bit one, dunno if ISO size has different outcome
  2. poor source / none at all
  3. thats not true at all I used RT7 lite for Win7 SP1 Pro my install DVD is 1.52 GB in size
  4. bad advertising thats for sure
  5. actually by switching to chrome they will increase it which was one of things that made them switch
  6. and again, from Opera ASA view "who gives a **** what they want" as nobody has right to demand it from them
  7. only if you have something to bargain with which nobody has Random people: "release Presto as Open Source !" Opera: "why should we ?" its that simple ... what ?, will everyone mutiny against new chromed opera ? I already see quite many people switching from chrome to new opera even if its incomplete garbage I will use Opera 11.52 as long as I can, but I use Pale Moon parallel to Opera unfortunately at the end it will come to just 2 engines fight for web Mozilla and Webkit Trident I doubt it will ever gain power as it gets updated once in 3 years
  8. well look onto it like with Windows OS 95, 98, ME (yes I am listing DOS based ones on purpose) they all went out of support not being invested in and abandoned FOREVER but you still won't get open source of them ever they bear no value to owner (MS), just like Presto to Opera, but they got their money from it (sponsors), and they don't want NOW anyone to have benefit of it for free lets take you invent new type of engine for cars and you earn money of it 10 years later it becomes useless and you abandon it, and now approaches you people who want to use it for their own product/car would you give it for free ?
  9. has anyone ever researched which IE dll's are needed for shell ? I see proc explorer doesn't show ANY files/dlls used from \Program Files\Internet Explorer\ yet whole folder is locked from any possible changes
  10. won't happen 1. Presto is being used in certain software 2. Presto was never free, thus no reason to become opensource 3. Chairman & Board of Opera won't allow it
  11. you asked I answered I used latest one they offered, and those are GUI programs with no settings to use, just "run and wait" don't understand why you offended MPALL didn't want to use since low level fornat wasn't able to work
  12. its not about slowness, but resource consumption for example Pale Moon is fantastic comparing to ordinary FF but I cannot run it on that PC so I aim at any previous FF that is as light as Pale Moon (or FF 3.6 or 4)
  13. well I used of both tools the newest versions given and none have options to set you just run them and it auto-detects stick and their thing
  14. with Phison Low Level Format Utility, I get error "Low level format Failed" with UPTool, I get error "not support IC or Flash"
  15. yeh that one is too broken
  16. there is one PC my parent uses, it is kinda weak for this new "modern" browsers its spec are CPU Athlon XP 2600+ RAM 1 Gig + page file OS XP SP3 my parent simply can't use anything else but Firefox and these newer are resource hungry so if anyone know which one was last that was light as 3.6 and 4 ? mind you Pale Moon doesn't exist for Athlon XP on purpose
  17. oh okay: Chip Genius ChipEasy
  18. yeh it identified itself as Toshiba something, but their web is in some freakish chinese could it be because it is in NTFS and not usualy FAT32 ? I'd be interested to hear more of them, if they are suitable for MSFN. you decide lol ... so this one is "Butt Plug", another is "Orgasmatron", another is "Stix", last one is "Stick it"
  19. what ? "butt plug" ? I call all my usb-sticks funny names
  20. submix8c thing is that only that USB stick has issues with this the others (I have 4 total) I have do not why not ?
  21. I have an USB 2.0 stick (unknown brand), 8 GB capacity formated to NTFS it works fine, until it tries to copy last few bytes of any file like so: at this point when it comes to 5 or 1 second to complete it waits 30 seconds, sometime up to 1 minute and does nothing, just waiting and waiting then completes the copy/move I scanned it with windows check disk and nothing bad was shown driver is generic by winOS (7) what could be the problem ?
  22. and that is the problem service packs are not feature packs you will just bloat it with .net and other useless crap for no reason
  23. why the hell would they put crap .net framework init same goes for IE and WMC, better make way to completely remove them leaving just mshtml.dll for shell
  24. //offtopic think XP needed stronger rig I remember when I switched from WinME to XP SP1 I had Pentium 4, 533 MHz and 128 MB RAM, and it lagged like hell only when I got 1.3 GHz Celeron and 256 MB RAM, it ran ok surprisingly 2000 pro ran as smooth as ME on 533 MHz rig (but game support sucked so I didn't used it long)
