Maybe if you can't get in for an interview, you can't make mistakes?

Read what zprog said and then read it again and then read it again. No truer words could be spoken about education.

What bart and ripken say is correct. If you can find a good teacher and that teacher sees you are serious, the they will be serious also. Remember also that to stay at the top of your abilities in classes, you need to stay up with everything that is going on and move ahead of the program by learning what will be coming up and anything extra you can. If you get ahead and stay ahead, the classes will be easier and will re-inforce what you have already learned. Some teachers don't mind helping you get ahead of the curve. DL

Cool desktops. @sven I don't even want to know about 'esheep'.

Manned Space Flight Network, I knew I was amongst some intelligent people, but rocket scientists no less!!!!! If you go into advanced search and have it list for the last year and by date, at least the first 30 are about msfn.org. Most are also in 'foreign' languages. I mean, uh, not in English. The one thing I did glean from what I read (in English) was that when someone had a question about UA, intergration or anything like that, they were directed here for the answeres. Way ta go msfn! Nice find prathapml. DL

@Dagonet' Well, that's a better sellection of green. It was in another thread that someone mentioned using java script or something, but I think that it would be really cool to have an image as your desktop, like a cockpit console for example, and then have dropdown menus extend from different levers or buttons with a slildebar to scroll through a list or ............ Something where you don't have the regular double click icons. Cursor hovers over the radar screen and drop down menu appears (sp?) or lights up within the radar screen, cursor over the cockpit windshield and the menu appears like a HUD. Ahhhhhhhh, just talking. New Part Human-Part Animal Species being created!
mark replied to indianarchie's topic in General Discussion
I've got no problem with an adult making the choice to incorporate mechanical devices into themselves. It has already happened to a small degree. Prosthetic limbs that can be manipulated by thought, computers that are manipulated by thought, artificial hearts, dialisis, pacemakers, and so on. Would you go for having your brain and brain stem dropped into a machine to replace your body in order to live an extra 100 years? -
New Part Human-Part Animal Species being created!

Well........... So maybe someday we can say 'No, really, your parents were monkeys.' Not a way I would want to end that debate. It pushes the outer edges of what is ok and not ok in human modification. Where do you draw the line, getting braces on your teeth or gene splice to repair a fatal flaw in your gene code. 'Bob comes from a wealthy family. He got the Dynatech UltraSplice on conception.' 'On World News Today: 64.5% of births are from zygote manipulation' 'Terrorists switch irradiated batch for GenepacSP1, 300 births of Epsilon semimorons in the Boston area, Parents shocked' 'More mothers are opting for the full flask maturation of fetuses and the simulated 'birthing' process. Scientists are still worried about odd characteristics of newborns from this procedure due to the lack of real biological interaction prior to birth.' DL -
How come they sound like Americans? Let's here from other countries.

How do you qualify 'best'? I could sellect a company like Nucor Steel who are one of the few or only steel companies left in the US. They swim while the others have sunk. They profit and their employees do well. Or Google. The have a great product, used daily by millions and their employees make good money and have an awesome work environment. All the companies that you list have products I might buy but it would be based on the product, price and quality, regardless of the brand name. I like Lite-On, LG and any other lesser or unknown manufacturer if it gives me what I want. I look at my computer and I see a CD-RW, DVD-RW and a wireless card. CD-RW, it works fine, I forget who made it. CD-RW, it works fine, I forget who made it. Wireless card, it works fine, Belkin product, just installed it. (just looked, DVD=NEC, CD=Optorite) The only other thing I would look at these days is where it might be made. How many computer components are manufactured by a handful of companies and sold under someone else's name? That goes for a lot of products. Outsourcing. A name brand doesn't always mean a good product. I probably know someone who owns a Gateway computer but I don't know who. I know several people who own Dells and most are not happy. I got one second hand and it was limited in how you could change it. It lacked extra slots, the modem would never work, the previous owner could never get good help inside the warranty period. A brand name doesn't make the product in my eyes, the product makes the name brand. I am in the construction field and there is one company that produces nothing but homeowner junk, except for their wormdrive framing saw. Their wormdrive is also relabled by a few other companies and sold as their own. DL

Nice signature, funny thread.

But isn't a virus bad code? Chernoble (sp?) from what I have read would take your computer running Win95 and zero it out completely, including your bios. All someone who writes code for an OS can do is try to get the OS to catch and stop mistakes. If the OS ever gets to the point where it can catch all mistakes, it will probably start writing itself with no help from us. Addapt to us. You start to play a game and the OS recognizes that it is not optimally configured, a mistake, and makes adjustments. Just talking. DL

I don't think you are going to find to many psychologists or psychiatrists here. And I am not one either. Maybe (everything I say here is just a maybe) your dreams seem more real than reality to you because your dreams are 100% you. Your mind makes them, you make them, you make them in your mind. All of it is created by you and you are aware of all of it. The few dreams (always bizzare) that I remember are always remembered with more detail than most experiences I live through. Colors, sounds, moods, people, objects and where they are located, plus any and all the weird stuff to go with it. As to what you dream and why, maybe you are just going back to a time that was pleasant for you, maybe resolving conflicts and isues, maybe it's your minds way of cataloging, organizing and justifying the previous days events. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Wake up quicksilk!!!!!!! >edit: The picture you have the link to is one of those perfect world scenes and to me, those are as spooky as any horror film. It's as if you were to get caught in the picture, then there would be no escape, it is all controled and you have no control. Someone or something is hiding from you, keeping you in an uncontrolable situation. Everything is overly perfect. Perfect flowers, perfect house, perfect pond, perfect sky and around the corner everything is perfect. Ooooof, spooky.

Maybe a brave new world is not such a bad idea after all. (Brave New World was a book about the future and one of the features of the future was not movies but 'feelies')
-
neither, (DL suppresses negative thoughts) Ohmmmmmmmmm. Possible? pinch space/time (wormhole) or hocus-pocus P.S. @SiMoNsAyS There appears to be some current evidence that the universe is actually ever expanding.
-
Is it possible to repair or re-install Windows and have that possibly fix the problem for durex?
-
Try what SiMoNsAyS first. You make it sound like these games just started to behave poorly and didn't before. If they behave the same after a format and re-install, then the situation should be clearer for you. If they improve in performance, then you have done the least expensive method. DL

Carson Universe- ever expanding or eventual contraction

Yeah, you are right. Sorry. So let me pick it further apart. T-shirt appears to be pulled up and, well, no bra. Nice proportions. I think we need to end this thread before we ( I ) get in trouble. DL

Yeah, like prathapml said. I find a fresh install the easiest solution after a carefull backup. Numerous times I have cleared the damage from the that nasty bug that gets lodged between seat and keyboard. DL
-
Not sure, but if you install Firefox and Thunderbird, you are given the option to make them the defaults. Leave IE and Outlook in place until you are happy with FF and Thunderbird. If not, dump FF and T. After a few days and you have learned to hate IE, the decisions will become easy. For me, Thunderbird is still under review. DL

@Dagonet' Nice wallpaper and layout but unfortunately due to personal taste it gets one demerit. I am not keen on olive green. Green is my favorite color. No particular shade of green, it is a range of greens around spring grass green (not a name of a color at all) that runs from the slightly yellow to green. Look at the wallpaper that SiMoNsAyS has, delete the blue, dark green leaves and the major portion of the yellowish and my color(s) is about there. But that color wouldn't suit your wallpaper either. Or maybe I need to adjust my monitor. DL
