  1. Having spent a short period of time in college, I found the 'nuttier' professors to have classes that were more enjoyable. They usually got their message across whether you agreed or not, their lectures were more interesting, it made learning the subject easier because it kept your attention and you end up getting better grades. One of the wackiest professors I had had the largest class on campus, it was double the size of any other, it was one of the more difficult classes and it was one of the classes I made the best grades in. Outside of the ones that are total lunatics, professors that actually enjoy their own subjects are the ones that have the likelyhood of trying to get the message across and will use extra measures to teach. Appreciate the nutty ones. DL

Welcome to msfn kendrewjr. If you haven't already found it, the first useful thing I would look into here is the search function at the top of the page with the magnifying glass, not the other search buttons. You might find any question you may ask has already been answered more than once or the answere may be in a location you hadn't thought to look. Cheers DL
  3. I'm glad I went straight to the puzzle rather than reading the thread first. Glad it worked for me. Glad I solved it. Outside of giving the clue of persistance, I think you should not give anything else. Wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone else that comes through. The game is not beyond most people's capabilities. I don't understand the author's comment of only .1% making it through other than people must be getting much to impatient. It's not hard, just persist! DL EDIT> Nice find phoenix_nf.
  4. Uhh, thanks. And can you believe it, Will Smith has a word he coined in the Oxford English dictionary. Jiggy. DL
  5. @pratapml Yeah, I've noticed that 'foreigners' seem to speak English quite well. Oh, and by the way, Indian words don't 'enter' the English language, we steal them. And no, you can't have them back. Veranda and mugger are two that come to mind. DL
  6. I guess it's not to surprising that a story like that can make it's way around the world. But you know he got it back, right? Ahhhhhh, I'll just leave it at that. DL @MadGutts What, may I ask, are 'Bunny boilers'? Can that be Googled? Gonna find out. Dang, off on another tangent. Edit> Ok, there's Eric and the Bunny Boilers, a band out of Glasgow. That doesn't make sense. Back to Google. --next>"Just like occasional drug use or a nasty bang to the head, major issues with a partner or ex can trigger serious mental behaviour. A phenomenon better known as bunny boiler syndrome." Ok, now I get it.
  7. Hi midiworks. Let us know what you find helpful here and what kind of crazy stuff do you do? DL
  8. You popped into the right place. Cheers, DL
  9. Ok, you guys win. 'perfect tense', 'subjunctive mood'. ? I learned English from those around me. When it came to schooling, I was aweful. I was just reading in another thread and the English speaker there was difficult to understand. Bad grammar, punctuation, spacing. Fun fact: There are eleven different ways to pronounce the group of letters 'ough'. See, English is fun. DL
  10. It's a good story. It makes it's way around every few years. Whether it is true or not, I can't say. Nothing is as strange as life and life immitates fiction. So it has either happened or it is going to happen. Who's volunteering? Not me. I already read about Lorena Bobbit. DL
  11. And one of these chips is supposed to be "10 to 20 times faster than the fastest graphics and computer chips" They'll be able to get game characters to sweat from individual pores. DL
  12. Rodney Dangerfield, Jonathan Winters, just a couple from 'the old school'. DL
  13. @SiMoNsAyS Well. Hmmmm. I saw your avatar and really liked it. Still do. But, even though I asked if you had drawn it or not, subconciously, I thought you had. So. I am thinking to myself that SisMoNsAyS has left enough of an impression on me that I thought he had done the graphics himself. Now, if you will notice, I have no avatar and no signature. I am a novice, noob, homeuser. If I find something that I feel happy with or manage to make my own, I will use it at the point that I feel worthy enough to put it up. I know that people subconciously feel more familiar with someone who has an avatar. Like putting a face to a name. The avatar can be a reflection of the person's personality and usually is from what I have seen. Back to SiMoNsAyS. I would really like to see something you have done. Something new. Obviously, with me having seen the ximian logo and thinking it was yours, you might have a high hurdle to jump. You don't have to do anything at all. I just thought I would ask/challenge you. Best wishes, DL
  14. Hi YoussefGamil, Welcome th MSFN. Could you explain a little more about , please.DL
  15. Hi k_chatterjee, I think you have come to the right place. cheers, DL
  16. I like the layout of the old page but I do like the new header. I know not much changed in the layout but I got used to having 'forum', 'login' and the rest across the top. DL Edit> Ok, Digeratiprime was posting at the same time I was and he got the look I really like. Good job Digeratiprime. And good job xper.

  20. Welcome to MSFN MjjKeepTheFaith. And we won't tell you who Mike is either.
  21. Welcome to MSFN. You'll notice that as long as you can communicate, people aren't too bothered about how 'good' your English might be.
  22. Amazing. It's a real search engine and real links. The 'translation' is pretty neat. Just looked and it is using Google to search. Good find Prohibited.
