I use an air compressor but you must be careful about the condensation that builds up inside and air compressor and the air line. It is not unusual to see an air hose blow out streams of mist or water. You don't often see non-industrial compressors with air dryer attachments on them. The canned air is dry. So caution. You will notice that air compressor tanks have drain valves on them. That's why. DL

I keep a link to a website handy. DL

I noticed a post where someone asked a question in a language other than English and the reply came back in the same language. I also noticed that since I joined, the number of members at MSFN has nearly tripled. I am sure that quite a number of them join in order to be able to use some of the functions on the site, etc.. but there must be a number who don't speak English well and go to other members for help. Are you one of them? Is there another level to MSFN that for the most part goes unnoticed? Thank you, DL

I don't know anyone personally, who has been threatened, sued or prosecuted for piracy. I just read the articles in the papers where someone is made an example of. I had read PirateBay's pages with the legal threats. What they are doing is legal because of where they are located. I got the distinct impression that they know what they are doing is wrong or immoral and are hiding behind Momma's skirts. O.T. If Microsoft is a monopoly, it is only because we allow it. You are not forced to use their products. If your business requires you to use their products for whatever reason, then you have to use it but it is your choice of business. If Microsoft products are overpriced, what do you think is a fair price, based on where you live, how much money you make....? How usefull is a nix distribution? Half as useful? How about applications in nix? What would happen if you were to take the value ( to you) of some product x, cut it by two thirds and donated that amount to some freeware and everyone else who felt the same about product x were to do the same? The repercussions would be massive. This scenario is not going to happen. Democratic governments are the same way. They are going to do what they do because we vote them in. We lose money because of porkbarrel programs, politicians use porkbarrel programs to get votes and so forth. People vote for this or that politician because he/she tells them what they want to hear. If a statesman (using that word to differentiate from a politician) were to say 'If you vote me into office, it is going to hurt. There is nothing that I am going to do for you. What I am going to do is for the future. The future might be 2 years, 5 years or 10. That is when you will see the benefits of what I am doing. Here's why...................' I would possibly vote for him/her. This scenario is not going to happen. Freedom is a right, not a privilige. But if you use your freedom to hurt someone else (infringing on their rights), then you should lose some if not all of your rights. If your neighbor has 5 sacks of rice to feed himself and his wife and you steal 4, how bad is that? What if you steal one sack? Or one grain? Don't get me wrong, I am not innocent of theft. I am not going to throw stones in a glass house. I am just throwing out thoughts. DL

@sven-no dns server down You are 100% addicted to Porn. There have been 3 person(s) as addicted as you. You only get this when your IP gets blocked from some sites. Congratulations with the high score sven!!! The preceding has been a joke. Only take seriously the part that you want. DL

@prathapml- I remember the last time you had a lot of 'unanswered questions' about a movie. I couldn't keep up with the questions, never mind trying to get the answeres. <shudder> DL

Anybody see any of Andy Griffith's one man shows or heard the recordings? If you saw the movie 'No Time For Sergeants' and thought it was funny, his one man show of the same title was absolutely hilarious. His dialogues on baseball and the opera, ahhhh, you'ld have to hear them. Where to listen to them? I would like to know. DL

Here in the US, we do graduate from one year to the next but we say 'yeah, I graduated from high school' which is finishing the 12th grade and going on to college or whatever. I don't understand sven 'graduating' 11th year and you, gamehead200, sticking it out another year 'even though it's not mandatory'. Is it like A level and O level in UK? DL

Very nice Martijn. You pick up some color with the boxes down the right side and the buttons on the home page. As you can see on MSFN's main page, someone (xper ?) put some graphics down the right side and it is a very nice touch. It adds a little contrast and some color. The only thing that I think you might need to change is that some of your text is to light of a grey. But it's still a nice layout. DL

On your CD, isn't there a DOTNETFX folder? There is an .exe inside. DL

@cyanide It is still up. DL

A GED is worthy goal. Follow that with another goal of getting some college or trade school. I can promise you that not having enough education can be detrimental. I hope you do well. DL

I've seen it recently and I can't remember it's address but there is a website that is archiving or has been archiving websites. DL

You're welcome. Now, if they discover that genes can change to accomodate environment .......... It only takes a little to change things a lot. We are constantly being inundated with information and new technology. How much are we having to change the way we think to get along in this brave new world? DL

@prathapml Go to post #21 (mine) in this thread and click on the link for Kubrick's explanation. It is somewhat long, like the movie and in cartoon form. I liked it. Kubrick's explanation didn't leave me with the feeling that the aliens control anything. But I must admit that I always thought that they triggered the innitial change in the apes and just watched from there on. DL and what about the movie '1984' based on H.G.Wells book?

OT Darn, you had to steal her laptop to get her to move in with you? *Just Kidding!!!!!* Back on topic I've had things stolen from me. To say it sucks is an understatement. Insurance might cover some of it but often times it just comes out of your pocket. For most of us, it is the extra money that we have had to work for. The extra hours, the doing without somethings and the time it takes to save up for it. This is above and beyond basic living expenses. And what about the sentimental value or an heirloom? A thief walks in and takes a part of you life, for free. The thief sells it for pennies on the dollar or takes it for his own pleasure to use. What about a thief that steals someone's tools. Steals what someone works with. A laptop or a hammer. The victim is out of work until the tools are replaced. The victim may have to borrow in order to replace. Even then, it will take time to get the new laptop back up to where the original was, if at all. That is all downtime and no compensation. Sorry Zxian. I read your story and go into a slow boil. DL

Hi sven, Alright! You're back. I was wondering which edge of the Earth you fell off. Being gone is no problem. Just pop in once in a while to let us know you still exist. Busy is good. I don't think it'll keep you out of trouble, but it's a start. Class of '06? You are graduating this year? Good for you. You looking to continue your education? (Yeah, yeah. If this is to personal, ignore it or pm me). @gamehead200 _______________ I try to notice when people are around or not. DL

The rumored Google OS. I would love to see what they would put together. That might put a number of people out of a job. DL

If someone really thought answering polls was stupid, then they wouldn't even bother being in here looking! If they come in here, it is to see what people think, therefore it is important to them to one degree or another. Soooooo, if they voted yes, then lie, lie, lie, lie. Beer and pizza on the house!!! DL

@sinangel You are not going to find that here. DL

There quite a number of threads talking about pagefiles. And I mean quite a number. I would look for them and read. I have read a lot of them but I am not one to be asked for a definative answere. I will tell you that it appears to me, from the most knowledgable people, that you should have a pagefile. You should let Windows manage it. Your ram is at the bottom end of where some say you don't need a pagefile but I would still have one. Basic recommendation is 1.5 x your ram, managed by Windows and if you have two HDs then split it between the two (this should be a performance increase). You will get different points of view on this. If you have the space on your HD(s) then it shouldn't be a bother. Some get away without one and they are either very knowledgable or lucky. Not having a pagefile can cause your OS to hiccough under some circumstances. Unless you really know what you are doing, I would split your pagefile if you can and let Windows manage it.
