  1. Is there anything "older" than the latest drivers on the website? In my case, I can't use Realtek drivers newer than R2.29 (R2.43 is the latest). It accepts the installation, but it just doesn't work, similar to yours. I know it's not the simplest solution, like making sure that the jacks are in the correct place, but it's worth a try.
  2. Welcome to MSFN, Ephilei. Yes it is. You can install by adding the programs in the form of add-ons (take a look at the Application Add-ons sub-forum), but you can also install them through RunOnce(Ex). Do some searching, reading and experimenting and ask anything you need. Enjoy
  3. HP drivers, especially for printers, need to be uninstalled from the setup on the CD. Choose an element for installation, and, if it recognizes it is already installed, it will prompt you to uninstall.
  4. It can't use XP as a host OS. Probably because of the WAIK 7.
  5. <i>C:\Users\BEG289\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\66LXWXZ3\iaAHCI[1].inf,0</i> You imported AHCI from Internet Explorer's temp folder? This LastSession.ini says they're on the disk, but if you open the I386 folder (AMD64 for 64-bit) on the CD, you will find a folder called NLDRV. Inside there will be a folder with the AHCI drivers.
  6. China and India have fast rising economies and a lot of population, so that would be a good starting point on learning a business language. @tain: I like your logic . I also enjoyed the fact that three large institutions can only partially agree on numbers, a number itself being something that is very definitive.
  7. See this link and this link, it may help
  8. I would suggest you check your BIOS settings to see if SATA/RAID/AHCI mode is enabled and which options you have. Also, if your PC has an OS installed on it, open Device Manager and search for a SATA/RAID/AHCI controller. Open it and under the Details tab select Hardware IDs. Copy the first two lines and paste them here. It is a pretty reliable way of finding the exact manufacturer. BTW, which method are you using to slipstream the driver into the CD? Edit: it never occurred to me to look it up as a netbook, I only searched as a notebook. Is this what you have? Acer's download page only has support for Windows 7, and it did not list any SATA drivers.
  9. NTFS will positively affect the speed of the install, but will also (eventually) run down the USB stick.
  10. Have you done anything to remove SAM? Please post your LastSession.ini. Also, take a look at this article
  11. Is the model Acer Ferrari one 200 actually model 1200? According to the manufacturer website, in XP Pro and Home it doesn't use AMD AHCI, but JMicron SATA drivers. I'm prety sure they are also available for download by Fernando1, so you could give it a try, or wait for Fernando1 to confirm.
  12. Welcome aboard. The first place to look for is the manufacturer's website. After a search, I saw it only had Vista drivers for your model. Fortunately, I found the manufacturer of the sound card. Try this link: http://drivers.softpedia.com/progDownload/Gateway-SigmaTel-Audio-Driver-51046474-Download-18298.html If not, look for other Sigmatel drivers for XP. (just between us, you could have found this yourself using google) enjoy
  13. It's official; this model is actually SATA which comes with a permanently "welded in" USB connector. I did some google search, and found nothing remotely close to your problem, although I found enough hits/posts on the model. It is obviously not a driver problem, but it was worth trying. I suggest you wait for some other people to share their knowledge. All the best
  14. Open Device Manager again and choose to Update Driver from a specific location. When the option comes up, choose Don't search. I will choose the driver to install. This will show you a list of compatible drivers already on the PC, which should be enough for the HDD to work. I presume you need the USB Mass Storage Device driver. Give it a try and report back.
  15. hmtjakob, are you using Frenando_1's modified drivers? Because their success rate is very high. Make sure txtsetup.oem is in the same folder as the .sys, .inf and .cat files. Integrate the driver in TXT mode using the option Single driver and choose your OS version properly (x86 or x64). If you ARE using Fernando_1's drivers, then you don't have to do the last step. Try to have a separate folder for the driver with a simple name.
  16. Updated to latest version 03/03/2010 Rev.3299 by clsid
  17. Welcome to MSFN and thank you for the useful advice.
  18. Back to -X-'s post #2. Choose Unattended and Create Bootable ISO. In the Unattended section choose the Prompt Repair mode and enter your Product Key, and then create an ISO which you can test with a virtual machine before actually trying the repair, checking whether Setup will actually offer Repair mode as an option. It would be best if you made the nLited CD on a machine with XP as a host (I see you have Win7 x64). I'm wondering if you could also use this OS, as you are not slipstreaming any service packs (which seems to be a common problem for some users with Win7 and Vista trying to make an XP CD). Cheers
  19. Welcome to MSFN. I have two questions in order to help you: 1. How do you slipstream the AHCI driver? 2. Where did you get the driver?
  20. Does anyone remember the story a few years back about the guy that decided a few spammers had too much free time and made them copy whole pages of Harry Potter books by claiming he would pay them, as he was doing research on handwriting for a University LoL. I even found the link. CLICK AND LAUGH Wynonaryder Syndrome?
  21. I think "Prompt repair" is the closest it can get to getting a repair. However, I have never done a repair, so wait around for someone who has created such a CD to tell you how things go.
  22. Nah, it's okay. I think it will be wise and worth while to wait for an update Cheers
  23. Yeah, and Obama sang "Nagila Hava" on my wedding
  24. Could you please explain why my personal Profile tells me I have one post more than what I actually have? E.g., the Forums page tells me I have 499, the personal profile page - 500. Edit: before posting this one
  25. Go to this website ( http://win-x.co.cc/nliteimages.html ) and look at images #16 and #17. They explain which unattended mode to choose according to your needs. That will skip the first image. Or, in WINNT.sif you can add this line [Unattended] OemSkipEula=Yes For the second image, look at image #22. You have to choose the Administrator account (on the left) and give it a password (on the right); that way the second screen won't show up. Cheers
