I hate to say this, but I had the same problem as menes in post #6, namely the first batch file finished, but did not copy setup(x).exe and ipclog.exe into N.Files/Serial.Getter. I copied them manually and got another error, something about files not matching or invalid product. This means I had more success with the first version (which I deleted). Cheers

You are not doing anything wrong; we are hoping the UA will soon be equipped to support even more file types than those currently available.

HELP, external HDD gone stupid
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to hawkecho125's topic in Hard Drive and Removable Media
I've had this problem more than once, mostly on USB flash media, until MS released the patch to prevent Autorun for CD/DVD and removable drives. So, to make everyone's mind at ease, the order of things should probably go like this: 1. scan HDD for viruses (scan My Computer if you think it's necessary); 2. copy/backup data on affected HDD; 3. format problematic HDD; 4. put data back; 5. scan again if you want to Maybe so, but then you're lucky. In my experience, drives will not open correctly until formatted.Cheers -
HELP, external HDD gone stupid
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to hawkecho125's topic in Hard Drive and Removable Media
It usually happens when autorun.inf gets infected with a virus. Your antivirus deletes it, which makes explorer.exe confused about properly reading the HD and its contents. You can open the contents through the "Folders" option of the "Standard buttons" or if you right-click it and use "Explore". If you have some program like Total Commander it will work as well. I agree with nicasius on the solution. -
OK, take this for example: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop] "AutoEndTasks"="1″ "HungAppTimeout"="1000″ "WaitToKillAppTimeout"="1000″ [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control] "WaitToKillServiceTimeout"="1000″ [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop] "AutoEndTasks"="1″ "HungAppTimeout"="1000″ "WaitToKillAppTimeout"="1000″ You paste it in Notepad and save it as somename.reg . Then you right-click the somename.reg with (for e.g.) WinRAR and choose (click) Create SFX Archive. In the Comment tab enter this text: ;The comment below contains SFX script commands Setup=regedit /s somename.reg TempMode Silent=1 Overwrite=1 This will call regedit.exe to silently execute the .reg file. This is one way to create your own add-ons. One more thing: nLite already has lots of Windows tweaks, it's just a matter of careful reading and selection.

I clicked GL's link in the previous post; the list is really an interesting read. Windows and Microsoft Update's URLs are also included. Is it really worth blocking them all to save your privacy when one visit to the afore-mentioned sites will send pretty much the same data to MS? jaclaz's post on the amount of data collected pushes me towards paranoia. I mean: E-mails and MSN accounts?! Good thing I've never believed in Outlook (or its worse twin - O. Express). Back to the basic topic; I used Windows 2000 for a year (2004/2005) when I worked for an institution. I must agree it was a stable system, almost ideal for corporate environments (domains, Ctrl+Alt+Del, GPO...). It never crashed on me, in spite of my persistence . I never used it at home, but I do sort of miss it, although not as much as others here. GrofLuigi, kako ti se svigja avatarot (how do you like my avatar)?

which forum should I use to post questions/problems
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to Parrot's topic in General Discussion
I suggest you do not use Win7 as a host OS to run nLite for WinXP. You could create a virtual machine and run nLite there. There are ways to export the nLited XPCD from the VM. -
Anywhere you like , as long as it is in a separate folder which you can delete later without a lot of fuss.

Unfortunately, the link that DigeratiPrime put up won't work because you have to accept a License Agreement. But, if you go to THIS PAGE, look at the category LATEST DRIVERS (bottom of the page) and click the SIS UniVGA3 graphics driver (v3.91), you can download the latest driver. If it doesn't work, you can always go back to previous versions.

Some third-party application on your PC, according to Google search, has called for a certificate list. Nothing to be worried about; it will report an Error if the certificate can not be downloaded. Enjoy

5.131.2600.5512 is the last version on my PC. According to the numbers, it probably came with Service Pack 3. The Event Viewer entry probably shows some event concerning the file on the given date - information, error, audit... to be more exact, when it was accessed for some kind of use. Which OS are you using? I have XP 32-bit with SP3

Visual Basic 6.0 pro silent install.. HOW?
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to cloferba's topic in Application Installs
Google search worked great for me http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/13824-visual-basic-6-silent-install-and-sp5/ http://www.tech-archive.net/Archive/VB/microsoft.public.vb.general.discussion/2006-03/msg01686.html Hope this helps -
I'm guessing ("guessing" is the operative word here) that the name of the working folder is "xpcopy". what I don't understand is three points: 1. how did you select "Single driver" and then highlight all drivers (do you mean all the files belonging to the driver?); 2. how do you copy the contents of the entire hard drive by selecting a driver? Are you copying drivers from the Windows folder on your working OS? 3. how do you highlight a boot disk? "pressed" probably means "clicked" We really need more information on your procedure, and if it's difficult for you to express yourself in English, please do not hesitate to use Google Translate.

[Release] FFDShow Add-on 09Feb2014 Rev.4530
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to Sp0iLedBrAt's topic in Application Add-Ons
no problem -
HKLM/Software/Nero/Shared/Nero9/ But please take this relatively, as I'm out of town and using another PC. Maybe someone can confirm. BTW, menes, I installed Nero9 without .NET 3.0, so I don't think it is a requirement. I only have .NET 2.0 SP2.

Well, welcome. Unfortunately: 1. Your title is not specific to your question; 2. I don't see any error or attachment. Attach (please do NOT paste) LastSession.ini, which you will find in the ISO, so we can help you.

I had the same thing with the registry entry, but later it was there. Maybe it's simply a matter of restarting the PC.

[Release] FFDShow Add-on 09Feb2014 Rev.4530
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to Sp0iLedBrAt's topic in Application Add-Ons
Updated to latest version 25/02/2010 Rev.3285 -
Well, a lot of hardware manufacturers have already made compatible drivers for Win7, but the list is not complete. I understand the benefits of automatic updates, but I am a person that wants to be in control of what goes in, so I disable them. It would have been nice if you had some kind of a log file to show what caused the problem.
-
Well, I would further suggest you add the *.7z file to the cleanup list since the .exe is the final product, and it would probably be a good idea if you uploaded the tool to at least one more mirror. Due to many server requests, I couldn't download the new files for about an hour this morning. Keep up the good work.
-
Yes , it is possible to activate it with an add-on in nLite, and here it is (tested) BTW, please make sure your next topic titles are more specific, as this title does not actually correspond with your question. Enjoy Kels_QuickLaunch.cab

OK, first try went pretty well, with a few queries and explanations required. 1. (and most serious) I received a lot of errors because nothing was found in TEMP, hence nothing extracted. Then I realized that your first batch "1. Extract CAB, Build Folders" contained folder name "NERO1005442", while in my temp the folder name was "NERO1004930". Having changed that title in the batch file, it started doing exactly what you say. 2. I noticed two different batches: "4. Make 7z" and "5. Compile". They both produced an appropriate file of approximately the same size (less than 18MB, which is really cool). I suppose they are both there for a reason, like creating a .7z archive, and then an SFX from that archive? 3. Thank you for adding silent switches (if I may add, a bit uncommon, which is a good idea IMHO) Thank you
